What is my heart rate zone supposed to be?

Okay, it seems like this should be easier to figure out than it is...what should my working heart rate be the low and the high end...
I am 43, I weigh 185 right now.
I think the max is supposed to be about 170...and my minimum maybe 120. but I find different calcualtions so now I'm not sure that I'm right...thanks.

There are many who believe that the "220 minus your age" to determine your max heart rate is an inadequate formula, but for someone in the beginning stages of getting fit, I'd consider it to err on the side of safety, if anything.
I try to keep my heart rate in the 70-85% range when working out. For you at 43 years old that would be:
220-43 = 177 (Max HR)
Target zone = 123 to 150 (.7x177 / .85x177)0
