Lupini beans
I recently found lupini beans - protein and fiber source. I'm seeing divergent nutrition information and don't know who to listen to. I would assume beans don't differ according to where they're grown that much. Wikipedia indicates they don't have starch. If that's the case why do some products have such a high non-fiber…

Fitbit versus real life
I once thought my Fitbit was a no-brainer for gaining or losing weight because it gives me data out the wazoo that helps me plan my nutrition and weekly activities. I was wrong. On the days I go to the gym and go to work on the same day, I regularly burn, according to Fitbit Charge HR, 3500-4000 kCal per day. Because I'm…

caloric goal and Fitbit data
For those of us who have Fitbit... Do you rely on the caloric burn data from your device when planning your intake? I'm getting conflicting information. There are sites and people dedicated to bodybuilding and exercise that give a cute little calculation with which to determine target calories. I get a BMR of 2000 or so…

confusion/newbie stuff
I'm not new to weightlifting or cardio but I am so frumpy, I make the town librarian look hot. So, I'm really interested in gaining muscle mass. I have so many questions but they seem so newbie so here goes: I don't have time for super long full body workouts. I've been doing muscle group per day followed by 15-30 minutes…

More exercise, more food
Is eating more because I exercised going to offset calorie burn? If I am trying to keep a 500 calorie deficit per day and I log a 35 minute run the app will say that I've got more to eat. Should I just skip the extra calories?

Anyone here trying to gain muscle mass? How do you use MFP to help?

extra calories added on exercise days
If I want to burn 1 pound of weight a week, I need to burn 3500 calories one way or another per week. This amounts to 500 calorie deficit each day for a week. Or, if I take off the weekends then 700 calorie deficit for 5 days. So, if I factor in the days I exercise and MFP calculates that I burn 400 calories in the…

Setting new goals
I've still got some fat to lose but I've already hit my weight loss goals though I have gained a pound back on vacation. Now, I've started weight training. How do I set my food intake goals to support weight training? I don't want to stunt muscle growth by eating too few calories but I definitely don't want to gain…

Servings
Can someone please explain to me how much 1 serving or 1 piece is? I am trying to find a comparable lasagna recipe but no info about how big each serving is... especially not knowing how big the container is. This is frustrating.

Caloric requirements
My calorie requirement is 1770 Kcal per day as a base. One estimate I got was 2770 Kcal per day with exercise and normal workday, etc. Why is MyFitnessPal saying that I should only be eating 1400 Kcal before I enter exercise?
