Weight Loss and Cortisol
Has anyone heard of cortisol effecting weight loss? Apparently, cortisol is released under stressful conditions and too much exercise can be considered stressful. When I read this it made me think. When I started this life style journey 4 months ago, I watched what I ate and worked out only 60 minutes every day except…

Help!!! Plateau
Have any of you hit a plateau? Well, I seem to have. For the last month or so, I have been hovering around 245 and not moving much. I will lose then gain, lose then gain. I exercise everyday and am switching up my routine, I eat within my calorie range, and am getting sick of not seeing results. Please provide any advice…

Sistas that Swim
Does anyone here swim? If so, how do you take care of your hair to prevent breakage and keep it healthy? I purchases this My Swim Cap Diva which is supposed to keep the hair dry; it does not live up to all the hype. My hair was still wet. Any suggestions or ideas would be great!

Celebrity Body - Just for Fun!
This was posted in a group that I am in and I decided to post for all. I know we are all happy with and trying to reveal our current hidden bodies, but if you could pick a celebrity body, whose would it be? Tyra Banks or Lisa Raye for me.

Support for the Girls :)
I hate to have "the girls" bouncing while I am working out. The workout/sports bra that I wear is not doing the trick and I am only a "D" cup. I currently use brands Danskin and The Body Co. neither are great supporters. I am wondering what type of sports bra you all use while working out to control the jiggle and bounce?

Positive Rant!!!
Positive Rant!!! Most often rants are so negative, I have decided to create a positive one. I am so glad to have come across MFP. I have “met” a lot of earnest people that are striving for the same goals that I am – to become healthy, fit, have increased energy, with a little bit of vanity for that inner sexy body. LOL I…

Friends near or in the 40s age group
I am looking for some motivational and supportive friends. I not only need the support but I also give support and motivation and am a great listener (reader) for venting. Whatever it takes for us to reach our goals I am game! I am a 5'8" 43 year old female and I want to lose an additional 67 pounds. So far I have lost 22…

Favorite Motivational Workout Song
This song is soooo motivational. We are all meant to be the best that we can be this includes health, life happiness. This song is all about now being to time to claim these blessings. One of these blessing is weight loss, we can go and get our blessing. It has a great beat also. One of my favorites. I am posting one verse…

Seeing Results
When did you all start seeing results or when did others start making comments? I am 5'8" and the scale says that I have lost 22 pounds so far. My clothes fit a little better, but I don't look like I have lost 22 pounds. I am guessing when I lose 40 pounds, I will see some results, hopefully.

Why?!?!
When the gym is nearly empty and I am the only one on the ellipticals, why must someone get on the machine right beside me? It is so annoying. I do not want to inhale your exhale.

Heart Rate
I am a 43 year old female. When working out I like to keep my heart rate between 143 and 153. The problem is that lately it has become difficult to get into my heart rate zone. Its like my heart rate simply refuses to go up. In order to get into my fat burn range, I have to work out extremely hard getting my heart rate…

Under Alot of Stress
I am under so much stress lately. I recently had an argument with one of my friends and my spouse is getting on my last. I can recover this these but why am I cheating on my diet. This has been the most awful week since I have started this journey. I really need some encouragement to back myself back on track.

OMG, I Cheated
I had a peppermint patty and an ice cream sandwich. I feel so bad, but I guess I will work our harder tomorrow. I am so sad.

Heart Rate Zone Question
I have a question regarding heart rate zone. I am 43 years of age and my current maximum fat loss zone is 142 – 153. The problem is that when working out in this zone it seems a bit too slow. I only perspire a little and feel like I am not really challenging myself. I have on a few occasions got my heart rate in the 170s…

Feel Like I Eat too Much
My daily calorie limit is 1450. I work out 6 days a week and burn approx 950 each workout session. My problem is that, while my calories calculations stay within the 1450, I feel like I am eating way too much to be losing weight. I always thought that losing weight meant that I have to and should feel deprived; however, I…
