Jan 2019 group
Hi I’ve just finished week 1 of C25K. Is there a group for people at a similar level or anyone want to join me for support here? I used C25K to lose about 54 pounds (about 24 kg) 6 years ago and ended up with athlete level fitness. Stopped exercising and put it back on. Now I’m 15kg/33pounds down again and want to start…

Hey, sorry I haven't updated the list- I went away for a long weekend and forgot to bring my laptop. I will put it up in the next day or so. I also couldn't weigh in as there were no scales there. I am a bit scared to weigh in after being away! I will do it tomorrow. I washed my hair this morning and didn't want wet hair…

Week 1: 9/1 to 9/8 start weight in and discussion
It's September! Let's get started! Welcome to everyone who has joined. :flowerforyou: We have 70, which is a good number. Reading the other thread, it seems like a lot of people have events they are trying to lose for such as birthdays and weddings. But even if you don't, there is nothing better than having people not…

weighing in and plan of attack
I'm not going to weigh in and post my goal until Monday 2 September as Monday is my usual weigh in day. My plan of attack is as follows: I took 18 months to lose my original 50+pounds/25 kgs. For various reasons (cough midlife crisis cough) I put some back on and I want to lose about 7kg/15 pounds. I think it reasonable to…

Rules (such as they are)
There are no rules! This challenge runs for three months from 1 September to 30 November. Pick your goal loss for this period. I'll try to update the list on a Monday. Post your loss each week and your running total loss. Be supportive and cheer each other on. :I might harass you if you don't update, so if that annoys you,…

What style MA do you do and what are you currently learning?
I realised from another thread in this section, that I don't know much about other MA styles or even other tkd schools, I just went to mine because my brother and sister in law go there. So, I do tkd. At my school it is very structured, all adult coloured belts learn the same syllabus for a few months, are graded, then all…

Vegan but hate soy products?
Is anyone vegan but hates soy? Do you think you can be vegan without soy? I have been vegetarian since I was 6. I am interested in going vegan and soy milk is ok, but I can't stand products like tofu- it is the texture. Don't even to talk to me about fake meat products because I can't even think of eating them. I use…

Women and muscles
Girls, what sort of body are you aiming for? (guys, feel free to have a view!) I realised looking at some of the before pics that i don't have a clear idea of what I want to look like (photos of back, what muscles are women supposed to have in their backs?!) Looking at bodybuilding sites, I don't want to look anywhere near…

First sparring comp this weekend- advice please!
Yesterday on the spur of the moment I signed up to compete in my club's annual sparring comp this weekend. So it is a fun comp, but it will still be serious and involves around 5 clubs. Only one other woman from my club has signed up as the others all told me that one of the other clubs focuses on sparring and is in a…

20 min upper body strength workout?
I don't have much time for strength workouts, as I run 20+ miles a week and do taekwondo 3 or 4 times. I am not going to join a gym and I am not interested in reading up about it, I just want someone to give me an idea what to do. I realised today that I could probably get to tkd early 3 times a week and do some strength…

Help! Focus on faster or longer?
I have been running for a year. There is a good fun run coming up in my area in October which has a nice half marathon course- no loops and pretty flat. The 10 k course is pretty much the same as the one I did in July. I am tempted to do the half, as I just did a 14 k (8.7 mile) run so could easily build up the distance,…

More exercise = less sleep needed?
I have ramped up the exercise this month ( thanks Runners miles challenge!) so I am doing at least 7.5 hours exercise a week ( one rest day per week). For some reason, I have found I need less sleep, from around 8 hours to 5.5 or 6. I am waking around 5am feeling ready to get up and run. What is going on? Am I just weird…
