Discouraged about group fitness/wall climbing
I'm a completely NON-competitive person by nature, and the only sports/exercise I've ever really enjoyed are non-competitve, individual ones where I can go at my own pace and do my own thing (hiking, running, walking, kayaking, tennis). However, I have wanted to learn to rock climb for forever, and I recently made an…

How to stay positive when you're "the worst person in class"
Has anyone had any experiences with rude or discouraging people in their group fitness classes or does anyone have advice for how to keep a positive attitude and focus on learning and getting fit when you're the "worst person in class" (least experienced and/or least "able")? Should I let a toxic friend know I am thinking about her?
A few months ago, I ended a longtime, toxic friendship. She was a great friend in so many ways, but she was a drama magnet and it was physically and emotionally draining to hear about all of her issues on a daily basis. Bikram as cardio alternative during injury?
I think I may have overdone it in the gym the past couple of weeks and now my hip is bothering me. I have a history of hip injury, so I want to be cautious and give my hip time to rest and heal, but at the same time, I don't want to not work out for a few days, as I don't want to lose momentum. So, I thought yoga might be…

Stop Running Altogether or Run Less Before 1/2 Marathon?
Hello! When I joined MFP about a little under a month ago, I decided to start running again (stopped running in 2009-10ish) with the goal of running my first half marathon in the fall. I've been running about 3 times a week, and the first time I went out, I could only run about 1 mile, the 2nd time I ran 3+, by my 4th run,…

Cardio Help!
I have an old hip injury that I can feel is about to flare up again, but I'm feeling anxious to do some cardio tonight! I don't have a 1 piece swimsuit yet (just ordered one!), so swimming isn't an option. Can anyone recommend any cardio, outside of swimming, that is gentle on the hips? Thanks so much!

Specific Foods or Ingredients that Trigger Overeating
Tonight I made a new recipe for dinner: greens braised in coconut milk over shirake noodles (coconut oil, onion, garlic, ginger, lemon juice, red pepper flakes, chickpeas, spinach, coconut milk, cilantro, and noodles; 700+ calories). I wasn't feeling particularly hungry before I sat down to eat, but about half way through…
