Clothes--or the lack of..
My closet is empty. I put all my "BIG" clothes in 10 large black plastic bags and put them in a clothes recycle box by the side of the road. I kept 3 old pants but 2 fell off when I put them on so I had to throw them out. Now I have 1 with a drawstring waist that keeps them up and a few old but huge t-type shirts to wear…

Husband's attitude
Husband wants to meet my daughter and her SO at Pizza Hut for dinner. The pizza he wants (the Crazy cheesy crust pepperoni pizza) is 390 cals/slice. To me--not worth the cals for the amount of food. Frankly, I will still be hungry. So I asked if we could stop at Subway on the way and I would get a chicken salad--150 cals…

BEAUTIFUL PERSON AWARD!
What's with this? I am seeing it over and over on so many of my MFP friends sites. It's like a chain letter. Do you really feel supported when you receive one? It's like another site I was on where posters kept saying "for every like you give me I'll do a sit up (or a jumping jack, or 1 minute on the elliptical)"--they…

Holey donuts--tried them??
Has anyone tried these? They look scrumptious but they are very expensive. Plus shipping. Wonder if they are worth the $$ http://www.holeydonuts.net/

What brand of jeans do you wear?
I can't remember the last time I bought a pair of jeans. Or any other kind of pant that had snaps or buttons at the waist. All of my pants have elastic waist and are either sweat pants or other soft stretchy or semi-stretchy fabric. Also jeans have those pockets plastered right on each butt cheek and frankly my butt hasn't…

Help, please--snacks: ^protein, cal>150
I would like suggestions for snacks to increase protein intake with minimal calories for snacks. For example Yoplait Greek yogurt is 100 cal with 10 grams of protein. I would like to keep snacks below 150 cal. Any suggestions?

I have recently started to use the BodymediaFit LINK. I got what I felt was a good deal thru Costco (LINK armband including 12 mos subscription for $119.99) I tried a Fitbit but found some things frustrating (1. seemed to be affected by "atmospheric pressure" and would credit me with stairs that did not exist 2. was too…

Report on upcoming Core2 from BodymediaFit
This is a report on the upcoming Core2 from Bodymedia Fit by The Verge http://www.theverge.com/2013/1/6/3843688/bodymedia-core-2-hands-on I thought this was of interest, too: “It has all the same sensors, the same analytics, the same validation and levels of accuracy,” CEO Christine Robins told MobiHealthNews. The device…

Bones
Although I still hate to see myself in a mirror and have a long way to go, I am making progress. My hubby wanted to snuggle this morning and had his head on my shoulder. After a few minutes he picked up his head and said "this isn't comfortable. Your shoulder is hard. You have bones!" Yes, cheekbones, shoulder bones,…

Increased calories=gained weight
OK--due to so much insistence that noone should eat less than 1200 calories/day and the statement "you have to eat calories to lose calories, I increased my calories to 1200-1500/day and I HAVE BEEN GAINING WEIGHT!! Every one of the pounds I have loss has been a struggle. My intake has been 1000 calories/day--sometimes…

A question for thought
Why is it so hard to lose weight but so easy to gain? You work hard all weak watching the calories, eating healthy food, putting in the time exercising and step on the scale on weigh day and may be happy to see 1-2 pounds gone--or the dreaded plateau. But you go on a vacation for 7 days and come home 10 pounds heavier and…

HRM or other device when walking with Leslie
I know calories burned during exercise is dependent on many factors such as body weight and the intensity or work put into a workout. I know Leslie's workouts are much more than "just a walk" so calories burned while working out to her DVD's are probably more than what charts calculate for a regular walk (such as walking 2…

Calculating my calorie deficit--is this right?
I am taking my BMR adding on my exercise calorie burned and then subtracting the calories I ate. This should give me my calorie deficit for the day? When the deficit reaches 3500 I should have lost a pound--right?

Answers, please, from HRM users
What I want: a device which will calculate my daily calorie burn with a high degree of accuracy. I realize BMR, RMR, and TDEE are just guestimates. I do not expect a device to be 100% accurate but I would like to be able to SEE an actual number based on my individual activity--or perhaps in my case I should say…

Leslie Sansone DVD's and calories
I don't have a HRM or other way to measure intensity and calorie burned so I am wondering if any one has worked out the calories on any of the DVDs. Would you say the calories burned would be equal to actual walking outside. In other word is walking 1 mile in 20 minutes (3mph) with the DVD the same as walking 1 mile @ 3mph…

Which DVD are you now using?
I am new to exercising and have just started. I am using the Get Up and Get Started High Calorie Burn 1 & 2 mile walks. The DVD is kind of pink/pale purple and she is wearing a light green T. I am only doing the 1 mile now but will soon try the 2 mile.

Sorry--just a few more HRM questions
For those of you who answered my previous questions regarding Polar HRM--thank you. I now understand that the Polar FT4 & FT7 both use a chest strap to pick up the HR and the watch is a "receiver" for the information. You can upload the info for the FT7 if you buy the accessory (Flowlink) but this doesn't work for the FT4.…

More questions regarding Polar HRM watches
I did check search first to try to avoid posting repetitive questions and have looked at the Polar website but I am a little confused between the Polar FT4 and the FT7. It appears that the FT4 also comes with a chest strap but the FT7 does not. Is it then necessary to purchase an accessory chest strap for the FT7? Does the…

Bowflex Treadclimber--do you have one?
Any one have one? Is it really better than an elliptical (burns more calories?) Most posts seem to compare it to a treadmill. I am more interested in how it compares to an elliptical. Also I have heard the treadclimber requires some coordination to use (sort of like patting your head and rubbing your tummy kind of…

Mike and Molly
Am I the only one that does not find this TV show--Mike & Molly--funny? I am not amused at the premise of a fat couple meeting and falling in love at Overeaters Anonymous--which, in their cases in what? 3 or 4 seasons? has been a complete failure. The show makes dieting=failure funny? Fat people with food obsession? Mike…
