the bars I have to use are an 18# and a 20#. for my warm Ups I did just adding 10# to the bars and did all 3 warm ups. in the ebook he says for warm ups do 2X5 at low weight then 1X5 a little heavier- but the post here says do 4 warm up sets. I just did 3. I used the tracker and did what it suggested for my A session.

Do you do anything in addition to SL5X5?
I started doing reverse wrist curls for my drumming. I don't do much cardio. I walk and ride my bike to nearby stores or for a nice afternoon stroll- occasionally, in good weather. I nee to do more of those calf/front calf exercises on the steps, where you go all the way upon tippie toes and back down- or the opposite.…

time requirements?
How long does SL5X5 take? The first couple weeks anyway. I was thinking of asking husband to meet me at my parents on his lunch hour to work in my dad's gym. wondered if it would fir the time requirements with driving . later after he finally gets my base pass renewed.. and we kinda know what we are doing with SL, I can…

After Dinner I am tired. my brain and body think the day ends at 6. So my husband will…

Weekend?
I like that study is based on Mon-Fri. I always flub up Bible Studies that have the weekends scheduled in their syllabus. Sundays I read at church and sometimes read more in depth once I get home. Saturdays, well, I don't always do much Bible Reading. I do family time and nature, and cleaning and sleeping, and practice for…

What does size matter in this situation? (Bars)
I was debating the purchase of an Olympic weight bar. Browsing online I see they come in 5 feet, 6 feet, 7 feet... Which is the standard size... That would fit a rack of some sort if I get one later down the road...

(probably one of the factor leading to homeschooling my kids...LOL.. rebel that I am) I am not doing a very good OAP for this study. Measurements??
I will have my boys (16 & 18) do SL5X5 with me. Should I have them record measurements? When they did Bodyweight Workouts last year we all took before/after pics. I was thinking muscle measurements might be good this time.

SL5X5 with my kids!
Hi. I just joined here (thanks, Amber) II did 12 weeks of Bodyweight (Mark Lauren)) and am ready to move up to lifting. (BTW- I do like and recommend Bodyweight stuff and will use it from time to time) I decided upon the Stronglifts 5X5. My husband said he might do it, too. (but might not- we'll see) I decided I will have…

correcting form? Technique? what to say?
I probably already know the answer just wanted some feedback..... (situation story followed by my question at the bottom- if you want to skip the background info) here is the situation. My husband almost never exercises or works out. thinks walking from his car door to his office door is plenty of exercise and the best way…

What Next??
Yesterday I did 5 sets of bench dips with raised feet. (at home- cedar chest with a foot stool) 10 dis each set. It was hard towards the end and no way could have done more than 10 per set without my arms falling off..... Should I feel it today? I don't. At all. i would think there should be something as hard at it was to…

less pain with workouts?
I just have a mild muscle burn from yesterday. (which is how it's been for a month, so I have been slowing adding weights) Not sure if that means I need more weights, more reps, or it's just good that my body I'm no longer in extreme tear-filled pain from my beginner workouts. my workout yesterday: Dead Lifts 1 set of 15…

Eating more to weigh less or eating less to weigh less? .
So, many people say they (or others) are not losing weight because they eat too little... But what about those people who eat too little and end up weighing "98" pounds ... Why do some people eat little and stall/gain even, while some eat too little and lose too much weight? (basically, "why does eating less work for thos…

Seated Dips question....
I finally progressed from feet-on-floor seated dips to elevated feet. reg. seated dips are felt in my arms (and seem to make them look nice) But these elevated ones- my butt hurts, and I can't tell if it is glute/muscle or the joint! Is that a common area of hurt with elevated seated dips? and my clavicles are a bit sore.…

Why does this eating more make me hungrier?
So I am taking Sara's advice, trying to up my calories (from an average of 1425 daily to 1600, my average this week was 1511 daily) Eating more fat (40-60 grams as opposed to about ~30), less protein actually. I was doing about 130 daily and Sara set me to 107 I think. I am hitting about 110-120. (and my carbs are higher ;…

My workout video......

Bubble Wrap Efficiency question!!??
I have come into possession a large quantity of bubble wrap. It would be useful in packing some collectibles away, or when transporting my conga drums to and from practice. But that is not my intended use. I need to know what you think would give "more bang for the buck" I could: [A] lay it out on the patio like a runway…

Net Carbs?
I read somewhere that NET carbs are what should be recorded. It sure sounds nice to get to record a few less carbs. My low carb wraps say they have 5 Net Carbs, but their total listed carbs are 11. Should I bother re-inputting the info?

personal trainer DAY 1 (wants me to eat more)
just putting this here., in case anyone has any feed back. I saw a personal trainer for the first time. he tested my body fat%. the 2 online sites gave me 25.6 & 25.9%. the hand held device gave me 27.2% Then the trainer told me that average is 18-24%. I thought average was 25-32%-ISH. so, that kinda stung. He asked my…

Body Fat Measurements?
the two online sites I tried- neither ask for my height. I would think that would be a factor. having a 30 inch waist at 5'9" would be very different body fat percentage that having a 30" waist at 4'9". and just curious... what is your neck measurement? mins is 12.5" (I am 5'6" ) Are neck measurements that important…

Are these my options for BodyFat loss?
The basics- Age: 41 Gender: F Height: 5'6" Weight: 134 lbs Bodyfat %: approx 25% (taking the average of three online calculator sites) Since I hit my weight goal {135#} I have been upping my calories some and not as strict with logging (and still lost over a pound since mid January) I am pleased with my weight in numbers.…

I need to check that. I know that 30 pounds isn't "Lifting Heavy", but it IS heaviER! I usually hold a 20# dumbbell with one hand on each end…

I need ideas for energy boosts
Hi everyone. Does anyone have any quick energy boosts? Or even slower energy boosts? I can"t do those energy drinks, caffeine makes me calm and mellow. I have chronic fatigue syndrome. 'White starchy foods"
Since early January I have almost no white rice, white flour, white bread, white potatoes.... And almost no migraines or headaches. Body fat Scales (question?)
My bathroom scale only measures weight. I have taken measurements for ip online body fat calculator sites, but the calipers are more accurate, according to what I have read. (And according to logic. Logically it seems it would be a more precise measurement) How accurate are those bathroom scales that measure body fat?…
