Does doing strength training...
It might be a stupid question but nonetheless I am a little unsure on the topic? Are strength exercises effective in burning calories?

More Motivational Friends
I'm just looking for some more friends on here. In particular, those who are more supportive and motivational than many of those who I have now. When I started last summer, I had a number of friends on here who were very motivational and helped me to keep going, dropping about 25lbs over the summer months (I think) before…

Hungrier. Sooner.
This might a stupid question and there's only one way to find out. Lately I have been having the same breakfast I always do, roughly the same weight of cereal everyday. I move between Shreddies and Special K pretty much. I have found over the past couple of days that I am feeling hungrier sooner, as in, where I might have…

The wii!
I've been using the wii as a fun way of burning calories using wii fit, wii my fitness coach, wii sports (and for those who enjoy ragging on the wii, calm down, it's working for me) and I was wondering if people have tried the Mario & Sonic Olympics game? I remember playing it with friends and I kicked up a sweat playing…

Eating back calories lost
I'd like to get this straight. I see people exercising on here and then eating a bit more to make up the calories lost. Is this what you're meant to do? Is it better to burn off some calories and then eat a little more or is this (as I have always thought) counterproductive? Maybe it's a stupid question but I'd still like…

When to weigh?
I've heard a lot of information from people telling me different times that I should weigh myself. Personally I weigh myself every morning (after some necessities) and it works for me because it lets me constantly keep track on how my weight loss is going. What does everyone else think on this? Does anyone weigh themselves…

Who can't use a little more motivation?
A wise man once told me that you can never get enough motivation...well that's not true, but that's what I think anyway. So if you're in the same boat feel free to add as a friend and we can happily motivate each other to a better us...I'm in the wrong business, should be writing slogans.

When is it best to exercise?
I like to do a bit of exercise everyday. I work a full-time deskjob at the moment til I go back to university. Will exercise be as effective if I do it before I have dinner as it will be after I have dinner? Maybe that's a stupid question but I'm just looking to make sure.

Differences?
Is there a difference between the amount of calories in a takeaway meal and a restaurant "sit-down" meal. For instance, If I get a chicken chow mein from a chinese takeaway and one from a chinese restaurant will they have different caloric values?

Water really does the trick
Was very hungry about an hour before lunch and even after my new lighter lunch i was still feeling hungry as I hadnt had what I'm used to having (which is a white baguette with southern fried chicken, normal chicken, bacon and red onion...nightmare!) and instead had a sweet chill chicken wrap. Now I've refilled what was a…

Healthier Take-Aways
Can anybody suggest healthier take-away food, that would allow me to continue to enjoy take-away food once a week (if that) and still have a relatively healthy and tasty meal? Much appreciated.

Does excercising bring a faster metabolism?
I was just wondering does excercise and losing weight while building muscle make your metabolism work faster? Anyone know?

It's Me
I'm from Northern Ireland and currently weigh in at 18st 6lbs, standing 6'1" tall. For a 19 year old, it has struck me, it is much too much, so I've decided to do something about it. I've lost 5lbs so far and have a long way to go to get to my target of 13st. Anyway I'd best get on with it. That's me anyway.
