Not a newbie, but need some new friends and inspirations!
Hello fellow MyFitnessPal'ers! I've been on MFP for about a year and a half…. I've had some up's and some down's. I'm looking to add some new friends for inspiration. I haven't added anyone new in a while, and a lot of the ones I have on there now either never log on or just don't post much. I do better talking to others…

Nervous about amusement park
Even after losing 77 lbs, I still am nervous about trying to fit into the seat of a roller coaster... I still have that little voice in my head wondering if I might have to do "the walk of shame" when we go in a few days. Last time I went to an amusement park I was not big at all... It's been years! Anyone had any…

Alternatives to squats and lunges???
Squats and Lunges are awesome exercises for the butt/thighs... HOWEVER.... what are some alternative, equally effective exercises for someone like me with a very bad knee? I'm fine walking and running, but anything that involves bending my knee (and especially putting weight on it in that position) is out of the question.…

Question about HRM's and weight
I know that weight determines how many calories are actually burned .. a 125 lb person doing the same exercise as a 250 lb person would be completely different. Therefore, are HRM monitors accurate? I'm wanting the Polar F7 with chest strap to get an accurate count, but wanted to ask here first, thanks!! :)

5K, elliptical question!
Hi everyone! I am training for my very first 5K run! I started off this journey morbidly obese, but have lost 53 lbs so far. I still have a very long ways to go to reach my personal ideal weight, but I am stronger and better in shape than I have been in YEARS! I've been wanting to do a 5K. Before it started snowing and the…

Just checking I'm doing this right!
So everything I have been told and I have read says you should never eat less than your BMR... you can subtract 20% from your TDEE, but never your BMR ... does this hold true for even high BMR's? Mine is 2100. My TDEE is 2600 (and that's set at sedentary so yes I did plan on eating back the calories I burn if I'm suppose…

Heart rate montior vs fitbit
Everyone I need some advice! I'm wanting to keep an accurate count of my calories, and have read about heart rate monitors and a fitbit? Which is better/more accurate? I don't really know much about fitbits. Never heard of them until I saw someone mention them here on myfitnesspal. I'm going shopping today so hoping for an…

Question for morbidly obese
Hi everyone! I'm new to this, and hoping for fantastic results! I was trying to eat a minimum of calories every day, regardless of how much I exercise (which I work out a lot each week, 6 days a week!) I never ate back my calories. I lost 20 lbs at first, and then I've been plateaued. Also, I feel weak and tired all the…

Confusion on calories intake (BMR, TDEE, etc.)
How close to your BMR are you suppose to eat? I have been reading about macros, TDEE (amount calories your body burns in a 24 hour period), etc. and it can get confusing! It says you're suppose to eat 15-20% less than your TDEE. Well my BMR is 2,477 and my TDEE is 2,894. I'm eating about 1700-1750 calories on a daily…

Hi everyone! Always looking for new friends!
Hello, everyone! I'm Courtney! I'm 30, married, with 3 kids (ages 10, 3, & 1). I've never been "skinny", at least not since teenage years, but this is my biggest and I'm ready for a permanent life change! In highschool I thought I was heavy and when I look back now I realize how wrong I was. I was athletic, played on the…
