17 pounds in 5 weeks
Can it be done? I know this is not a normal weight loss, and I have been doing things properly and have been slowly coming down and have come a long way. As the new fitter and smaller me became part of my life I decided to have a complete career change and try for the job I always dreamed off. There is an element of…

Activity trackers - advice from owners needed
I Am looking for a fitness tracker device to monitor activity levels for motivation purposes. Ideally I would like it to integrate into MFP but not essential. Only criteria is it must not be made by Fitbit or Nike fuel band due to it's lack of Android integration. I would like some feedback from owners of various devices…

Spicy Carrot and Lentil Soup
Just made a cracking soup that was amazing. The recipe came from the British Heart Foundation healthy eating app. It was so tasty and is mega low cal. It serves six and took less than 30 minutes to prepare/make. Ingredients 2 teaspoons vegetable oil 1 onion, finely chopped 2 sticks celery, finely chopped 2 carrots,…

British friends - Open diaries
Hello! Would love to have some more UK friends with open diaries. The only reason I specify UK is when I look at friends diaries from other countries, I have no idea of what the food actually is (one of my friends had a Chimichangas?? and I had to google it). I am just looking for some food ideas as at the moment I am…

fitbit is an expensive pedometer imo
Fit bit is bollocks. Did a massive cycle first thing and tracked it with a HRM. Added the activity cals and time into MFP. Later go out in afternoon with my daughter walking. Do another 5k steps so expect fit bit to add some cals for that. .......no. Fit bit cals added today. ...zero. even though I have extra exercise…

Rewarding yourself
How does everyone reward themselves for doing well? I guess a lot of us would have used food in the past....I know I would have. This spring I am going to go to Alton Towers to ride the roller coasters. This is a huge treat for me as I have been too big in the past, and last managed to squeeze on one in Blackpool and it…

Sent out some invites
I used the search function looking for other people close to Swansea to see if we can get some more people interested. Thinking of changing the group avatar...? I used the Swans badge as it is known worldwide as the image of our city. The group has nothing to do with football and I has been mentioned in other posts. I…

Local food ideas
Anyone who has been on my friends list for a while and looked at my food diary will notice the groundhog day feel to it. I do this as it works for me to have a set routine. It breaks the 'Oh what do I fancy' within me, which eventually turns into bad food. One of the things I eat a lot of is Chicken. Now this can get…

Hello
Thought it might be nice to make a local group, and maybe other locals will join. Or maybe they wont, but maybe they will.....hmmm

Protein shakes/bars
I see a lot of people having Protein shakes in their meal allowances, and I was wondering why? I am always over on Protein just from eating food.

Groundhog day!
Is your food diary like Groundhog day? I am terrible for eating the same stuff over and over and over.....well you get the idea. My current favourite is a chicken breast with garlic and rosemary with some savoury rice. Would eat it every meal if I could. What's your Groundhog food?

Binge meals that you used to think was normal
One thing MFP has really done for me is make me look at everything I eat. I am kind of horrified at what I used to eat, and the mental gymnastics I used to do to tell myself it was OK. My best one was that the portions are so small here everyone orders more than the meal. My regular Mcdonalds was:- 1 Large big mac meal 2…

Fit bit help
Anyone use Fitbit? I have posted this on their support forum but any advise would be welcomed. Hello. This morning I went for a walk for 70 minutes and covered 3.7 miles (I tracked this with GPS) Fitbit reported this as 4.6 miles.... It then updated My Fitness Pal profile with over 1000 extra calories! I do make sure I put…

6 days same weight
Hello. For the last six days I have weighed every day and have not budged a pound, even though I am living like a monk! I have a lot of weight to lose (7 stone) and was wondering why I have stalled so quickly. I know I shouldn't way every day, but seeing it go down even a fraction gives me a good motivation boost.
