Protein shakes/bars

I see a lot of people having Protein shakes in their meal allowances, and I was wondering why?
I am always over on Protein just from eating food.

MFP sets protein pretty low - 15%, whereas a lot of people who do regular strength training aim for 30%, or 1g of protein per lb of body weight.
I am getting protein powder to add protein to my diet as I can get about 100g per day with normal food, but i Struggle to get over that. Protein powder is the cheapest form of protein per gram, so that's why a lot of MFPs supplement with powder.0 -
If you have default MFP settings on, then protein % is set low at like 15%. I adjusted mine to 30%,0

I find it hard to get my full protein allowance with food alone (have to eat a heck of a lot of meat/fish to get the same amount as in a scoop or two of a good protein shake), so use them both (bars and powder) to supplement, my protein is set at around 120 g per day.0

Thanks guys, I seem to average around 110g of Protein a day, so am always showing red using the defaults.0
