Salt Lake City / Guernsey running friendship
Hello, This may sound a bit strange, but I am looking to make friends in Salt Lake City, with a view to meet up for the Salt Lake City marathon in 2015. I've never visited the US, and would love to combine a visit with running a marathon, and heard lots about the course in SLC and quite frankly, the views are amazing.…

HIIT Example (Home Workouts)
So there's a lot being said about HIIT; any good home workouts you can recommend, not a great deal of room available. My understanding is that HIIT works best if done first thing... so I need to try and have a workout which I can do straight out of bed.

Weight loss vs Weight gain
I think I’ve made a discovery… not sure if to write to the medical journals just yet, further research may be needed, but based on preliminary findings, it is infinitely easier to gain weight, than to lose it!

How long in the gym...
Hello! New(ish) to working out, and would like advise from amateur body builders or fitness aficionados on how long do you normally spend in the gym in your typical session. I am overweight cca 28% body fat and my goal is twofold, getting lean and build muscle (definition mainly). So what's a good time? 30m, 45m, 2h? What…

I've lost my dog!
That got your attention didn't it! My darling Nutmeg, the Jack Russell weighs in at a tubby 9Kg, which is the difference between the two photos... still a lot of work to do, I know, but I was very encouraged to see the difference in the photos: Before: After:

Share Progress | Tips
Hi! How is everyone doing with their 6 weeks plan? I have to confess I've not managed the minimum of 5 workouts per week, so it's going to be a slightly longer road for me... Two weeks into it now (Level 1), I've not even dared watch Level 2 yet, and I am still struggling with the "mountain climbers" bit. What is your…

Too much running?!
Hello all! I am a keen jogger (like a runner, but slower). As a "mini" New Year resolution I set for myself I started running 31 minutes per day, EVERY day in January. So nearly there with my 31x31 challenge. My next challenge would be (starting on the 1st of Feb) to run 50 minutes each day for 50 consecutive days. Am I…

Dog walking
Who here has dogs? Do you log your "dog walking" calories burnt? I love the fact that I can do something I really enjoy (apart from lately, when it's rained and rained and rained), and it's good for me too.

Body-for-LIFE
Anyone tried Bill Phillips' regime for the 12 weeks? How did you get on? Just bought the book in a charity shop for £1, and wondering if it was worth the monies.

Simpleton question | BMR + Calories in/out
Hello, Just checking I got this right; is BMR the number of calories I expend doing nothing... say 2000... If my calorie intake is 1800 per day... I should expect to lose weight without any gym/exercise etc?! Equally if I take in 2500 calories daily, but run off 1000, should I still expect a negative balance next time I…
