Too much running?!

Hello all! I am a keen jogger (like a runner, but slower).
As a "mini" New Year resolution I set for myself I started running 31 minutes per day, EVERY day in January. So nearly there with my 31x31 challenge.
My next challenge would be (starting on the 1st of Feb) to run 50 minutes each day for 50 consecutive days.
Am I overdoing it? Feeling fine so far, no injuries etc...

I believe increasing this much, this quickly could lead to an injury. 2 general rules of thumb I have found is to increase your mileage by 1 mile a week or 10%. Assuming a 5mph pace, you'd be going from 17.5 miles per week to 29.75 miles per week. The enthusiasm is awesome, but I think you'll wind up with injuries which can set you back significantly. I tried a similar approach and wound up with runners knee (Twice, because I'm stubborn.) and am now basically where I was last March. Slow and steady is your friend.0

What he said.
Dont try to add too much too quickly, and you'll probabaly benefit from a rest day now and then.0 -

+1
But I'd suggest instead of distance, go by time. So this week you've run 217 minutes
Next week, run 238:45
Then 262:30
Then 289
Then you'd finish February at 318 minutes or 7x45:300 -
Might be worth mentioning that throughout January I've not kept to my 31 minutes (I am running by time, rather than mileage by the way). There were days where I've gone for an hour or more, weekends mainly.
Distance wise I've covered about 112 Miles this month. This has made me really proud and ambitious, but I would hate to get injured, so I might end up pacing myself.
Loads of weight to shed too, so cardio does help.0 -
So you went from zero to 112 miles in a month? And obviously not injured since you plan to increase that. Impressive, and certainly not the norm.0

Not exactly from zero, no. I've always enjoyed running, but haven't sustained this frequency before.0
