Do You Belong to a Gym?
Does anyone belong to a gym and if so, which one? We joined HealthTrax and really like it, but curious as to other gyms in the area.

Hi from Riverside
Hello from Riverside! So glad there's a Rhode Island group here. My name is Scott. I live in Riverside and work in Newport. I'm a transplant from Ohio but lived here from 2001-2005 while I was in the military and then came back in 2008 after I retired! Feel free to add me, if you want!

5K for a good cause
I am associated with a veterans group, Team Red, White and Blue (www.teamrwb.org). This group helps veterans suffering from PTSD or disabilities connect with their community through running and exercise. They will be running the Run for the Tropps 5K in Andover, MA on April 6th. Team RWB has created a group and extended an…

Tour De Patrick?
Anyone interested in doing the Tour De Patrick, this year? It's three 5K's: Pawtucket, RI (3/1), Providence, RI (3/8) and Worcestor, MA (3/9)? I was just going to do the Worcestor race, but part of me wants to kick off the running season right!

Facebook Page
I know everyone loves a little anonymity but is everyone on Facebook? And if so, would you want to make a Facebook page/group there also? Just wondering as it's easier to contact the group via a FB group. Just let me know!

The Vision
Welcome to the group! So what is the purpose of this group? ScottyG70 and Fitnh were discussing running one day. It came up that it would be a cool idea to travel the region to run some races. The vision is simple: Take the social aspect of MFP to another level, have fun and raise money for good causes. This group is not…

Guidelines
I hesitate to use "rules" but I feel there needs to be some kind of guidelines for the group. 1. Be courteous: Be courteous of other members. This means refrain from mean spirited comments, arguing etc.. Everyone is entitled to their opinion. If you don't agree with them, then ignore it. If you feel you must make it an…

Calling All New Englanders!
A friend and I were talking about how great it would be to get MFP members around New England together and once a month or so run/walk a race in the region. I tried going to some of the groups but they all appear to be dead, so I'm trying the forums now. So does anyone in New England have an interest in getting a group…

Social Aspect?
A friend and I were talking about a group similar to this. Here's the vision: New England members of MFP that can not only train together, but make it a social group too where once a month or so we can all meet up and run a race/walk together. For example: The Race to Home Base in June in Boston or a road race in Maine…

Introduce Yourself!
I realized that while I know just about everyone in the group, that others probably do not. So I thought it would be a good idea to have an introduction thread to get to know each other. Doesn't have to be anything fancy or long but just a way to make some new friends. So I'll start. My name is Scott! I live in Rhode…

Challenge Yourself
I just want to throw this out there. If you are willing, use this to challenge yourself. If you walk a mile a day normally (or it's not problem), then try the first day or so of a C25k program (alternating running and walking). If you run on a regular basis, then try to improve your pace on that mile. Know your limitations…
