Mason salad jars
Has anyone tried these for food prep? Would love to prep lunch only once a week, but am afraid of sogginess. Has anyone here actually tried it?

Spur FOMO
Those with kids know that the only place to go with kids across SA where adults can talk in peace is Spur. But the food at Spur is just shocking!?! Besides the taste being not so great, the healthy options are atrocious, as if no one even bothered to think about it. Last night, I thought I'd have just some wings and…

Hi, Is there anyone out there still active on MFP in 2014? I would love to connect.

What is a realistic workout plan?
While I'm waiting on my assessment at the gym with my new exercise programme, I'm thinking of burning my calories the following way: 400 calories x2 a week via cardio (100 elliptical + 75 x4 on rowing, wave machine, bike, and running) 300 weight training plus cardio warm-up once a week 200 calories through Pilates once a…

Winter food
Howzit! I love salads and the plethora of fruit that we have at our disposable during summer. But now, after unapologetic bragging about our choice of food; I'm struggling to find some nice, low-cal options for winter. How do you fill up on healthy food during winter?

How did you do?
I only managed to lose 18 lbs. I didn't quite make my target, but now I realize just how hard this is. I'll keep going though. I do need to lose the rest of this weight.

How's everyone doing?
I've lost 10lbs so far, but losing another 40 seems so far away. These 10lbs were hard enough. I feel like I'm not going to make 50. *Eeek*

Doing your hair after a morning or evening workout (ladies)
Anyone else have hair trouble after a workout? It takes me like 30-45 mins to wash and blow-dry my hair after a really hectic workout. I see some women do their hair in 5 mins. What's your experience like?

What are you biggest challenges
Hi all, I see that this group is starting to die a slow death; so I thought I'd do my part to try to resurrect it. What do you see as your biggest challenge? Mine is just trying to put me first. When my husband goes to gym, he grabs his bag and walks out the door. When I go to gym, I first need to back the boys bags; make…

Clothes as motivation
My sister's wedding is coming up in September. I really hope that I can drop another dress size by then. (It's funny, I'm suddenly no longer interested in my actual weight, but rather the look of my body.) So, anyway, I was wondering: Do I buy the dress now in the smaller size and work towards it? Or just take a picture of…

Prioritizing yourself?
How are you ladies doing? Getting any better? I'm starting to realize that I matter, too. In fact, I've now seen that making time for my exercise time as actually given me more energy allowed me to be more present during time with my family. I now run and jump and dance with them, whereas before I either watched or…

Winter food
I'm looking for tasty, low-cal, easy to prepare, winter food for us Southern Hemisphere folks. I can only eat so much soup!

Weekends/holidays with the kids
I've found that during the school term, once the routine is set, it's relatively easy to get into the habit of preparing healthy meals and making time for myself. With the weekends/holidays, it gets a bit trickier. Yesterday, I started the day at gym. (I knew if I didn't start like that, it could get messy). Then took the…

Changing my relationship with food
Hi, I'm a little new to this and I've only just discovered that I have a bad relationship with food. I know it's difficult to change or break a bad habit, so I'd like to replace my bad relationship with a good relationship with healthy food. Does anyone have any super juicy tasty healthy food that they get excited about?…

Pilates
Hi all, I'm thinking of increasing my Pilates days from 1 to 2 a week to increase core strength. Anyone got experience with this?

Health Foods in Cape Town
Hi guys, I just thought I'd share with you this amazing place is Sea Point. It's on the St. John's Piazza just above Woolworths. They have this amazing lunch boxes that starts at R50. Great food, lots of protein, and a variety of awesome salads that are NOT drenched in sauce. Try it out! They have great wraps, too.

Low-cal desserts
I'm thinking of having custard with fat-free milk tonight. What do you think? Good idea? Or am I just trying too hard to make a bad thing good?

Valentine's Day picnic
Hi everyone. I have a pre-packed Valentine's Day picnic that I booked way before I started getting serious about weight-loss. I don't want to avoid it all together. But is there anyone who can advise which cheeses or breads are better than any of the others? I know that not all cheese is created equal. Any advice would…

Challenges only mom's would understand
So my goal for January, well actually 2014 was to be selfish. Not even a full week had gone by when I realized just how difficult this is for a mom. Other people say people who can't lose weight aren't disciplined enough. As a mom, it's a little bit easier to stick to a meal-plan than an exercise programme. So much can…

How honest are we with ourselves?
I just posted this blog and I didn't realize how much it resonated with other moms, too. I thought this was just my own ramblings. Have a look at my blog (if you have the time) and let me know if you've ever had similar thoughts. http://www.myfitnesspal.com/blog/ProjectYummyMummy
