If you like spicy Thai tuna salad you HAVE to try this!
I was looking for an alternative to the Bumblebee Sensations: Spicy Thai Tuna medley. I love the stuff but it's a little pricey. I stumbled across this recipe today and Oh my.. Thai Tuna Salad Ingredients: 2 (7-oz.) cans chunk tuna, drained 3 tablespoons Thai fish sauce 3 tablespoons fresh lime juice 1 tablespoon light…

My first real 5K run after graduating the C25K program
This morning I did a 5K charity run to benefit the Children's Miracle Network. I finished in a respectable (for me) 27 minutes, 10th overall, and third in my age group. I realize this wasn't a "serious race" or I would have come in much further behind the pack leaders, but considering that 6 months ago I could barely…

80 lbs lost
Today I officially passed the 80lb lost mark! I think (hope) I've finally broken through a plateau after spending the past month stuck at 192-195 lbs. This may have been due to my adding stregth training into my gym routine instead of all cardio, all of the time. I still seemed to be losing inches, just not weight, for…

Doctor visit: My success
This week was time for a check up with the local sawbones. I anticipated big kudos for my weight loss efforts and hoped that the combination of that and the exercise brought my blood pressure down from borderline high. I did it and so can you!
As of this morning's weigh in I've officially met my initial weight loss goal of being 195 lbs by my birthday this year. Best of all I'm exactly one month ahead of schedule to the day! This morning I weighed in at 194 lbs for a total loss of 76 lbs since last November. I owe my success partly to MFP, the C25K plan, the 28…

Milestone: Finally under 200 lbs
For the first time in at least a decade (maybe 15 years) I've dropped below 200 pounds, 199.5 as of this week's weigh in. I started my journey in November of last year at 270 lbs. I was motivated after a trip to Alaska last summer where I was sidelined from many of the activities because I simply couldn't handle the…

Work in progress..
I'm about 20 pounds from my goal of 195 pounds. I thought I would post some before and after (in progress) pictures. 57 pounds lost and counting. Before: 270 pounds or so (I was actively avoiding scales and mirrors at the time). After: 213 pounds, about 20 pounds to my goal weight. I hope I linked these pics correctly.
