So I gained back 10 lbs
I went to the doctor yesterday and got a big wake up call, after avoiding the scale for a while... so I can't be in denial about that one (granted... it was 2 days after the Superbowl and I ate too much, but I weighed myself this morning and it was still 5 pounds higher than 3 weeks ago!). But my clothes still fit the same…

Brunch ideas?
I'm having friends over this week end to help me paint. I made cinnamon rolls and quiche last week, and we bought bagels too... I'm making croissants for sure but I'm not sure what else I can make. Ideas? It's not going to be sit down so probably 'eat as it's ready' type stuff (the croissants will have to rise for a while…

Favorite beans recipes?
I want to eat more beans. Love them, just don't always know a tasty way of cooking them. Any recommendation? I have an instant pot, if anyone has pressure cooker ideas!

Stationary bike?
I'm extremely puzzled by this. A couple years ago I used my Polar HRM and compared my calorie burn to what my stationary bike was telling me, and it was completely spot on. My weight hasn't changed since, so I always trusted that number. It's not much, basically 220 an hour or something, going at 14.5/15.7 mph. I got my…

Confused about adjustment
My fitbit is finally sync'ed with MFP - yay! I'm however 100% confused about how it works. I'm set on 'active' on MFP. It's 9.35am right now, I'm at 10k steps, and I have 240 extra calories from Fitbit. Yesterday, I ended up around 17k steps, and had a 155 calories adjustment for the day. It actually kept going down during…

Anemia
Got my blood work results and it's all good except I'm anemic... again. And that was taking my blood 2 weeks after my period, and after eating beef for 3 days straight. Sigh. Advice?

Enabling negative calorie adjustments?
Not finding the option in diary settings on the app... where is it?

Treadmill vs walking outside... doesn't make sense
Has anyone else noticed this? If I walk 3 miles outside, mostly flat with maybe a couple 7% hills for half a mile, I burn 5.8 calories per minute. If I walk on the treadmill at a 6% incline for the same time, I burn 5.7 calories per minute. It's... annoying. I have a fitbit charge 2.
-
Treadmill option or not for treadmill walks with charge 2?
Hear me out... If I walk outside for 1h and 40 minutes and I get a 600 calories burn in that time (it's a bit hilly but for less than a mile total). If I walk on the treadmill for 1h and 40 minutes with a 5 to 6% incline and I get a 540 calories burn using the treadmill option... it also says that I walk at 2.5 miles an…

Activity really matters, people
I got a new Fitbit for Christmas. I used one for a bit 3.5 years ago when I was losing weight, but it was a clip on, and I stopped using it in the Summer because I wasn't going to clip it on my bra... So I got a charge HR 2 this time. I knew this already, but it's become extremely obvious that activity makes a HUGE…

News report = red meat and processed meats cause cancer
Surprised it hasn't been posted yet... http://www.nbcnews.com/health/cancer/processed-meat-causes-cancer-red-meat-probably-does-group-says-n451396 Thoughts? As everything causes cancer nowadays anyway, I have no desire to change my (very moderate) consumption of red meat and processed stuff...

Pedometer for kids?
My daughter is asking me for one. She's 8. I don't want to spend a ton but I don't want it to be total junk either. Recommendations?

Spinning calories
Alright, this has been bothering me for a bit. I've been doing more stationary bike (vs walking) in the last 3 months. I knew that it doesn't burn as much as walking, but it's nice not to have to leave the house. I used a HRM 2 years ago and it gave me the exact same number as the bike, so I just pretty much followed that…

Has it happened to anyone else? That makes meal planning so much more difficult. Sigh.

Has anyone successfully managed to switch to a higher weight maintenance?
I think I'm starting to realize that it might just not possible for me to maintain 135 pounds. I'm just too hungry and miserable because the only way to maintain is to really deprive myself... Has anyone been in the same situation, gained back a few pounds, then managed to maintain that weight successfully? I'm hoping that…

Breathing issues and anxiety
I've been having a very annoying problem for years - feeling that I just can't fill my lungs (unless I yawn). From what I gather, it's caused by anxiety and hyperventilation. I've been doing breathing exercises but it doesn't really seem to help much. It's been going on and off for years and of course the doctors have…

Gilmore Girls a day in the life (spoilers)
Thoughts? First, amazed that they still look so young. I want their secret. Second, Rory clearly hasn't matured one bit. Third, what kind of ending is that? Fourth, it definitely had its fault (the musical... seriously???). Loved the last episode though, which ended up bumming me out when it was over. I suppose I should…

Thanksgiving drama. Sigh.
Got to vent a little... My brother in law and his wife live about 1h away, but you have to drive through a big city (highway, but there's roadwork and traffic). I don't particularly get along with them well and they've made it clear in the past that they don't care about seeing me that much either. Hubby wants to see them…

What would you make for a bake sale?
I want to help the school with their Christmas bake sale but I'm a bit clueless. I'm not a very crafty person so it needs to be simple, and not cost an arm in a leg in wrapping costs. I'm not sure what would actually sell well in an elementary school either. Thoughts?

Depression anyone?
It comes on and off for me.. Started 18 years ago. It seems that anything can set me off and I wonder if I'm bipolar sometimes... It makes friendships really difficult because I've been so hurt before and worried that people won't like me once they get to know me... (I lost all my friends when it started). Even when I get…

Bad night calf cramp... what to do?
I've had them all my life but this was one of the worst... it probably lasted close to a minute and I actually woke up 3 times from the pain afterwards. Now it hurts to walk. Any tip to make it heal faster? I guess I'm not going to the gym today... and it's the week end. SIGH.

Diabetes claim - limited amount of sugar one can eat in their life?
So my mom told me yesterday that her doctor said that everyone has a maximum amount of sugar that the pancreas can process in their life before giving up and giving you diabetes. Never heard of this in my life. True? BS?

Sucralose?
Can you find pure sucralose in stores? Has anyone baked with it? I want to make a pumpkin cheesecake for my diabetic mom but she only likes sucralose as sweetener (I know that Splenda has another ingredient too) and I can't remember seeing it in the store.

Has anyone ever mixed protein powder with seltzer?
I was starving and thirsty after the gym and was craving a smoothie, so I went home, put two cups of mixed frozen fruit in the blender (VERY freezer burned, so there was a bunch of ice in there too), added a scoop of protein powder (Quest) and I didn't want to spend calories on milk and only had cold Seltzer so I dumped…
