Victory before the competition
So I won't be posting pictures just yet, because I'm waiting for the professional ones that will be taken on Saturday, when I'm all spray tanned and well, almost nekkid. In November of last year I was at the gym and was in awe of all of the female and male bodybuilders that were there for the next day's competition. I have…

Thinking about starting Strong Lifts 5 x 5
Yep, that's right, I'm thinking about starting strong lifts. I have a question for those of you that started after you had already been lifting for awhile......did you really start with just the bar? I've been lifting since March and I'm wanting to change things up a bit, because I'm getting bored with my current routine.…

Tennis elbow
Yeah, it sucks and is starting to become debilitating. Lifting a gallon of milk, can't do it with my dominant arm anymore because of the pain. Has anyone dealt with this? What kind of arm exercises can I still do? I have been told to rest it, but that's pretty much impossible with my job and 2 kids. I guess I'm looking for…

Ladies who lift
Hi everyone, I have been very consistent with weight lifting and cardio intervals since January. I am starting to get discouraged because my eyes are not seeing very much change. I am physically stronger, and the growth in the amount of weight I'm lifting is evident of that. My clothes fit better, and some are even falling…

Starting something new this Friday
OK, here's the deal...I'm stuck. Simply stuck with my weight loss and my thighs look like a big bucket of cottage cheese. This coming Friday, I am meeting with a trainer to have my body fat percentage measured, revamping my diet to increase calories/protein/good fats. I am a tad bit nervous since I have been eating around…

Thyroid question
Hi there. I was wondering if anyone else out there is hypothyroid and having difficulty with weight loss. I am looking for any inspiration/motivation that I can find. I am currently having my medication adjusted to reduce my TSH to 1.0. Thanks!

My NSV....
I can finally see light through my thighs when standing hip width apart. Granted, it's not much room, but I saw light! My thighs are where weight likes to stay. :)

FRUSTRATED!!!!!
The subject says it all. For the past 2 weeks, I have been working out 6 days a week, doing 30 DS and an additional 10 to 20 minutes of cardio per day. I have yet to see the scale move down. In fact, today, I gained 2 pounds. I am so frustrated!!!

Increased palpitations during workout
I have noticed in the last 3 weeks that I have started having palpitations while working out. I do have a history of having them, however not while working out. I notice them most when I'm doing push ups or running. I don't have chest pain with these and I don't notice any change in breathing when these are happening…

An NSV that struck home....
I was informed today, by my loving husband, that since tomorrow is our 8th wedding anniversary, and Sunday is Mother's Day, that I must go shopping for myself because, "I am tired of seeing you in clothes that make you look bigger than you are." I took the hint and went shopping. Since I have started my official journey, I…

GRRRRR!!!!
OK, I am having a VERY hard time to keep my motivation going. I can't get the scale to budge. However, I have lost inches. My diet has not been the cleanest for the last month due to a family tradgedy and just not feeling like eating totally healthy. I need some way to get my motivation back to make it to my final goal…

MFP vs Harris Benedict Equation
Which one to follow? When I did the HBE it gave me an alloted calorie intake of 2490 per day to maintain. So if I figure this right, I would need to subtract 500 from that for a total of 1990 calories per day for weight loss. MFP calculates my diet to be 1780 per day with a 1lb weight loss per week. Which one is more…

Looking to keep myself motived...again!!!
Hello everybody! My name is Molly and I joined MFP this week! I have been working out 5 to 6 days a week for the last 2 1/2 weeks...again. I was doing really well last spring, but fell off the wagon around the Holidays. I have gained 8lbs of the 20 that I lost. I am looking for motivaiting people to give me that kick in…
