OK, I am having a VERY hard time to keep my motivation going. I can't get the scale to budge. However, I have lost inches. My diet has not been the cleanest for the last month due to a family tradgedy and just not feeling like eating totally healthy. I need some way to get my motivation back to make it to my final goal that I am 12lbs away from! I am exercising 4 to 6 days a week. I am pretty sure it is all diet related currently. Somebody, PLEASE KICK ME IN THE BUTT TO HELP ME FIND MY MOTIVATION AGAIN!!!!

I started this long journey in March 2010. My starting weight was 193lbs. I am currently 172lbs. I have been stuck there for awhile and I can't get it to move. Since January 4th of this year I have lost 8 1/2 inches total.

Thank you!

    To quote yourself:
I will get there. My biggest obstical is myself. I have no one to blame, but myself. However, if I work with myself, I will get there!

Start kicking your own butt! You CAN do this!

The best thing you can do is get on MFP and start helping to motivate other people! Get on the discussion board and talk to people. Give your friends a pat on the back. Add more friends!

Why do you need to lose weight?

Also, I think one of the most critical things about this site is to make sure you drink enough water. Seriously. The weight loss slows down (for me and for others I've spoken to) when you don't hit 8 cups a day.

I had a setback in February when my little 6-year-old had her appendix removed, so I can relate to the lack of motivation to get moving or to bother counting calories (or to make them the RIGHT KINDS of calories). You can DO this. Just keep on pushing on through the lull in how quickly you lose weight, and you'll find you suddenly start losing again: my boss was semi-plateaued for a while and suddenly began shedding pounds like CRAZY doing this plan.

    Hang in there!!!

Well, I need to loose weight because I am 5'7" and weigh 172 lbs. There is a maternal famiy history of diabetes, high blood pressure, etc. I have also been told by my doc that since I had LARGE babies and did not have gestational diabetes, I am at an increased risk of developing type 2 diabetes.

Currently, my blood pressure, on a high day is 110/70. My heart rate is always very low. Resting heart rate is in the 30's. I am pear shaped and am currently battling the hardest fat to loose....the kind that likes to hang on to your hips and thighs!

so long as inches are changing who cares about the scale, you can be a much healthier, happier you at a weight you may have never though possible and fit into clothes that suit someone whom you would imagine is much lighter. Often times a goal weight is not reasonable based on your lean body mass which if you eat right changes just like the amount of fat you have on your body. The scale is a piss poor way to determine health and fat loss as it only shows net loss, not fat loss only.
