If we had a zombie apocalypse what is your strength?
For me it would be the fact that I can run at a reasonable pace and run far - I don't think zombie cardio is that advanced, so I figure I would be ok.

What are good boxing gloves for a beginner?
I am absolutely loving boxing! It is awesome - good workout and I get to beat the living cr*p out of stuff! - What more could a girl want? I want to get my own gloves, are a basic pair from somewhere like Sports Direct ok? And this binding stuff - do I need to get some of that as well? Thanking you peeps!

Best way to meet someone?
I've been in the single pool a little while and although I really enjoy my freedom and doing things for me I miss having that someone special in my life and want to go about meeting someone. Any suggestions on good places to meet people? If you are happily in a couple how did you meet? I know a lot of people meet on-line,…

What body would you rather have?
A skinny body where you could eat whatever you wanted without putting on weight but no muscle tone at all. A buff body where you look really hot but are weak as a kitten and really unfit. or A normal looking body but being super fit and super strong? I am totally vain and would go for the second one...

Going to give boxing a go - any advice?
My fitness routine is running (when the weather allows) alternated with an hour and a bit of strength training. I am getting results, running further and getting stronger but have decided to up the ante and go to boxing as I understand you get a good cardio and strength workout and really work hard, plus it looks a lot of…

How does everyone manage to eat enough protein?
I am really, really trying hard to up my protein to 0.8g per lb of body weight and it is just so hard! I had a 3 egg salmon omelette this evening, I am trying to find other sources of protein too - does anyone have any tips or snacks that I can include in my day? My diary is open for everyone - I know I have a jelly bean…

Can I go back to cardio now?
I have been doing weights since the end of December and although I am noticing the results I have put on about 8lbs and I know that isn't all muscle and I am dying to get back to cardio to pull back the weight - I was thinking of maybe 3 weeks of mostly cardio - day 1 cardio, day 2 weights, day 3 rest, day 4 cardio, day 5…

NSVs - one for each lb I've lost so far! :-)
1 – I am down a dress size 2 – My unsightly back fat has pretty much disappeared 3 – I can see my collarbone again 4 – I am no longer obese (just plain old fat instead ;-) ) 5 – I can now walk 12 ½ miles! 6 – I can now run 5 ¾ miles! 7 – I only have one chin rather than 3 8 – I need a belt for my jeans (or else I look like…

So how is everyone coping with Christmas?
Hi everyone - just wondering if you all have strategies for not putting on extra weight over Christmas? Mine is to log everything I eat (even the really bad stuff) and try and just burn calories at the gym as often as I can this week and try and stay a sensible amount in my calories - so far so good, I figure another…

Cautionary tale - don't lose weight too fast!
I think sometimes we're at such a race to get to goal we forget about everything and just focus on numbers - number on the scale, number of calories, grams of fat, sugar etc. I managed to lose a lot of weight by eating a significant amounts of rubbish (chocolate, sweets, diet fizzy drinks etc) and exercising excessively -…

Has cardio weakened me?
I lost 70lbs through MFP and cardio - either walking or running - yes I did it too fast, nothing I can do about that now... I have been talking to one of the personal trainers in the gym - well he keeps coming up to me and commenting on my routine etc - he had half an hour to spare so put together (and made me do) a lower…

Are sit ups good or bad?
I have had so much conflicting information on sit ups that I honestly don't know whether they are beneficial or harmful, please can someone enlighten me. Also - if they are harmful, what is a better alternative?

Feeling poorly
Hi all - I have been suffering with a cold that doesn't seem to be letting go any time soon. I have lost my voice, feel achy and more than a little sorry for myself. Rather than doing what I have done in the past and working out through it I am taking a break - I am resting, eating and drinking more and just giving my body…

One day at a time for improving my diet
After admitting on here how a poor diet and excess exercise left me with some health issues I am making an effort to get my diet and exercise in order to ensure a well nourished and maintained body at the end of it. Any advice greatly received, my ideas are as follows:- Eat more protein - I know it helps with building…

Body image thingy - where can I find it?
Hi there - a month or so back there was a link posted to a site where you could put where you see yourself and where you actually are by putting your vital statistics. It was great but I didn't save the link :-( Thank you!

How I intend to tackle maintenance
I have been at goal about a month now - admittedly I am under my goal which was 155 and am 151 instead. I have been weighing myself every day - I understand that the body fluctuates and I have allowed myself a weight range between 150 and 157 to be in - I use the app Libra to track my weight every day - it helps keep me in…

Worried about being "skinny fat"
I thought my worries were over now I have got to goal, but it seems not - I might be "skinny fat"! I am 5' 11" I weigh 151 lbs and according to the Boots scale as well as my ancient Tanita scales I have about 30% fat which is "average". My arms although slim do have some definition (ie - no bingo wings but a little muscle…

Pain, nausea and weakness the morning after training session
I think I am fairly fit - I can run 8 miles at between 6 and 6.7 miles an hour, can walk 16 miles in one go. I started my new fitness regimen in April this year and try to keep pushing myself as much as I can. I decided that although cardio is great and it helped me to lose my weight, I need weights to try and tone and…

How do you get rid of the "fear of gain" mindset
I am now in maintenance and have been for several weeks - it absolutely terrifies me, with good grounds. I have been here before about 4 or 5 times. I lose weight brilliantly, it becomes my life's work, I become close on obsessed with it, I become almost a scientific genius on everything from glycogen to the latest low…

Irregular periods - should I worry?
Hi there, I have lost 3 stone 3 1/2 lbs (46 1/2 lbs to those outside of UK) since April through using MFP and exercise. My exercise of choice at the moment is walking and I am walking anywhere from 7 - 13 miles most days at around 4 mph (allowing myself 1 or 2 rest days each week) Recently I have been having lots of "mini…

Ideas for core exercises I can do at home please!
OK - so I am walking and running for my cardio and I am doing pretty well (up to 5 miles running and 8 miles walking - not in the same session though). I cannot afford a gym membership and my place is teeny tiny so I can't get a lot of equipment to help with core exercises. The ones I have so far are:- The plank Crunches…
