So how is everyone coping with Christmas?

Hi everyone - just wondering if you all have strategies for not putting on extra weight over Christmas?
Mine is to log everything I eat (even the really bad stuff) and try and just burn calories at the gym as often as I can this week and try and stay a sensible amount in my calories - so far so good, I figure another cardio bun at the gym tomorrow and I should end the week pretty much neutral.
I call it "damage limitation" as I know I need to start weight training a lot more - but for the moment I just don't want to gain the average 1 - 12 lbs we're supposed to over Christmas,

Honestly, I had no strategy and have just been enjoying the treats. A little to much as this week I have been between 1 or 2 lbs over where I was at the beginning of December. The cookies are almost all gone which will be a big help because those have been my biggest downfall.
I try to remind myself that I can lose 2 lbs no problem and I will not regret enjoying the holidays. There are only a handful of holidays throughout the year and I plan on enjoying them. Monday I am back to being diligent with my logging and calorie goals. We are staying home for New Years so I know it will be easier to stay within my goals.0 -
I too just let myself taste everything and have a little here and there. Not overdoing anything. I was able to control myself the entire holiday. If there was any strategy, its the same one I've been using over the last 3 months, and that is to not feel disgustingly full. That feeling alone is something I don't want to feel and keeps the food out of my mouth!0

I knew i would want the goodies. I baked for about 5 days! So i just vowed to maintain my weight. I did, it still took eating healthy on most days, but i also got to eat all the treats. :-)0

For me it's been portion control and limiting alcohol intake. I'm still enjoying the food but I don't need extra helpings or large mountains of the food to enjoy it.
The gym schedule has been off and on because of holidays but I've tried to get 3 days/week in, too.0 -
