Everyone is gone
I dropped off of MFP for a long time, and most of my friends list seems to have disappeared. I am a woman in my 30s, trying to lose 15 lbs or so and get into better shape. I know this worked best when I had friends who I could talk to about this. Bonus points if you dirt bike, it's one of my biggest reasons for getting…

The Wall
So I've hit my low weight, again. I get stuck at it ever time I try to lose weight. Luckily I now have enough control to not bounce up too high in wieght, but I never seem to be able to break through this sticking point. It's totally a mind game and comes down to adherence. Any one have advice for pushing through? I'm just…

Lifting belts
At what point are lifting belts something that would be worth looking into? I've never really thought about it but if I can eek out a couple more pounds that always makes me happy

Conditioning program
My plan is to move from SL 5x5 to something geared toward conditioning. I think that with my 5k in May and being on a cut, sticking to a strength program probably isn't going to work towards my goals effectively. The problem I have is that google pops up with 8239858275287094509784 different programs and I really do not…

Wendler accessories
Ok so not stronglifts related (oh the horror) but I am having trouble deciding what to do for accessories. I think I want to add rows to the upper body lifts (OHP and Bench) but I am kind of at a loss for this. Any one have any recommendations, ideas or the like? PS. I would love to buy the book, but amazon.ca just has the…

One year difference
So I am back at work after my year of maternity leave and I figured I might as well celebrate how things have gone so far, even if I still consider myself a work in progress. This was my last day at work. I had my daughter about 6 hours later. I weighed in at 240 lbs, my daughter was only 5 and a half pounds. Now at 145…

what to look for in a gym?
So far I've been doing sl in my house(I have a bar squat rack and a bench). Unfortunately I go back to work soon and working out at home is going to be difficult during the week. There are a bunch of gyms by my office so I was thinking during the week I could hit the gym during my lunch hour. I am just wondering what to…

grip strength
So I have been doing stronglifts for a couple of months. I started light to get used to form (and to realize that I am stronger than I thought)and I am finally getting into more challenging weights. My problem now is my grip keeps failing on deadlifts. Any suggestions on how to keep the bar from slipping out of my hands?

what do you do between sets?
So I am starting to get into heavier weights and the rest I need between sets is increasing. I'm curious as to what people do during that time?

Struggling with a friend
A friend of mine, who is a bit older than I am, very out of shape and seeing lots of health problems, is always coming and asking how I have managed to lose weight and get active. And it would be awesome, she is a great person and an asset to the community, it would be great to see her in better health, with more energy…

Air Travel help
Ok so I am flying with my 7 year old son and 6 month old daughter. I have never flown before and am nervous, very very nervous. Any how I was just wondering if any one had any ideas on what I can bring for snacks and to entertain the kids. I have a feeling I am forgetting something, or if any seasoned fliers have any tips…

I like things dirty ;)
Hi everyone, My name is Kelly but most people on the interwebs call me Llama. I am a mom of two kids, my youngest is just a wee little baby that I stay home with until the summer, then it is back to work for this cookie. I have been at this for a fair bit of time, since my daughter was born, and of course MFP friends come…

Dealing with injury
Hi folks, I pulled something in my back, nothing major and it is on the mend. I am just wondering how long I should be avoiding lift weights for, the last thing I want is to rush back in to it and hurt myself again. Also, should I be avoiding my running? It doesn't really hurt to run but my posture is a little screwy still…

Steady weight should I change it up
So I have been at a constant weight for a little while know (I fluctuate between 156 and 158). This comes after me slacking off for most of January. I dropped my calories down to MFP "lose 1 lbs" and I am still not budging (I just quite breastfeeding and had been losing 1-2 lbs a week at MFP's lose .5 lbs setting) . I did…

Building strength on a deficit
Hi all, One of my goals/motivation for getting into better shape and losing weight is to be able to get my dirt bike on the back of our truck without help. Now we have gone and got a new truck that has an even higher bed. So even more hight to get my beast of a bike up. That being said, I keep reading that you can't build…

HRM and work out videos
I am looking at getting a heart rate monitor for tracking calories burned a little more accurately and to help me train for a 5k. I was just wondering if they are at all accurate for things like work out video's where the cardio isn't quite steady. And do any of you have suggestions on HRM, there just seems to be so many…

First mini goal hit - with pictures
I made it to my first mini goal. It took me just under 16 weeks to lose 26 lbs of "baby weight" to get down to my pre-pregnancy of 175 lbs. Just another 35 lbs to go! Left picture is current (175 lbs) and right picture was around 197 lbs or so. I also have a v-log at https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCpRGTWmj6_dNa8Nh6DNx8fw…

Work out routines?
Hi, I have been looking for a fitness routine to help me get into better shape. Changes to my eating habits is helping me lose weight but I want to also improve my fitness level (strength and cardio). I have heard about things like p90x and insanity, but those seem a little, well, insane. I am pretty novice and don't want…

Well hello
Hello, I have been on MFP for a little while. Tried it out, didn't like it, tried it out and played with it some more, liked it, and now I am starting to delve into the social aspect of the site a little better. I guess for a little background, I was really overweight after I had my son (7 years ago), eventually I decided…
