Why most women have so much trouble losing weight.
I've been thinking a lot about this and I've been watching my friends and I've come to some conclusions about "diets" and why they don't work. 1. Most women don't eat enough calories when they're on a diet. They restrict their calories so severely they are setting themselves up for a binge eating session which leads to…

Fit into all of my skinny clothes.
My clothes were getting way big on me and I was starting to feel kind of self-conscious about it. I was worried I'd be standing in front of a class teaching and my drawers would fall down. So, I went into my closet yesterday and pulled out my old skinny clothes (most are a size 8) just out of curiosity. Every pair of pants…

Fit into my old size 8 jeans this morning.
I haven't been able to wear these pants in over 10 years. I couldn't even get them over my legs 2 weeks ago. Talk about motivating!

Breaking through.
I was stuck on the 6 pounds to go mark. I was getting frustrated because I was eating 1200 cals a day and exercising 4 days a week. I finally decided to increase my cals by 150 per day and lost 1.2 pounds this week. It sounds crazy to eat more to lose weight but it worked.

Plauteau
My weight loss was going really well. I lost alot of weight in the first month. Now I seem to be stalled. I'm about 6 pounds from my goal weight. I have been reading these posts and keep seeing that you should increase your calories when the weight loss stops. I was on the minimum 1200 cals and just stopped losing. I…

Putting it in perspective.
I have had a hard week. I'm at the lowest weight I've been since my mid 30s (I'm 43 now). However, I find myself getting disappointed because the weight isn't just falling off of me like it did in the beginning. Until now it was coming off about 1/2 a pound a day. Now I'm up and down between 133.4 and 134.5 and it's been…

Hit the 130s this week.
I felt so good to stay in the 130s nearly all week. I haven't seen much of them in the last 8 years. I would still like to lose another 6-10 pounds but I feel like I'm really in my "healthy weight" range right now. I just want to lose a little more in my thighs and tone up.

Exercise after hysterectomy
I am planning a hysterectomy at the beginning of June. I will probably reach my goal before then but am worried that my healing time will undo the level of fitness I should have by then. Are there any suggestions for making sure I don't undo all the hard work I've done over the last few months?

Vitamin D deficiency
I started my weight loss journey in November. A group of friends at work decided we were going to put $5 into the pot and whoever lost the most at the end of that month, would get the money. I struggled to eat between 1200 and 1300 cals per day and was exercising 5 days a week. I could feel myself shrinking. My clothes…
