Finally off the plateau
So I've been stuck on a plateau since the holidays. I started with eating off plan for the holidays, then being extra flexible/one or two binges in January. But -- BUT -- today I finally broke through my barrier and I'm back in the 140's! I only have 5lbs to go to get back into a "normal" BMI and twenty pounds to my…

Optifast, anyone?
Hi there. I am on day 2 of Optifast, as monitored by CONCI. I could use some support. I know the first couple of days are difficult, but I am admittedly struggling with hunger.

New baby, breastfeeding, and the last twenty calories.
I used to be 250lbs. I lost 120-125lbs and last summer I was 128lbs. I got pregnant (woo!) and just had my baby girl in April. I only gained about thirty pounds during my pregnancy, I kept running, I commuted by bike until I was eight months pregnant, and overall, my pregnancy and birth was extremely healthy and…

Moderate to Severe stomach discomfort when running and days after...
Ten days ago I ran when it was very windy. Dissatisfied with my time, I ran again the next day where I experienced horrible stomach pains. The following Saturday I experienced horrible stomach pains all day long whenever I was standing. Since then, I haven't been able to run pain-free. Before this, I was happily and easily…

Almost maintenance relaxed eating?
I've lost 111lbs, from 250 to 139. I am within 10-15 of my goal. It's thrilling, to say the least. I haven't been this healthy since I was 10 years old. I find myself lashing the urgency to lose the final ten pounds. I still log every day, and i don't eat crazy, and my activity level isn't decreasing by any measure. But I…

Stomach Ledge
Do you know what I mean? How when you're overweight your stomach fat ends up being a sort of "ledge" over your pelvic region? WHEN DOES THAT GO AWAY? I have lost 100lbs and the way the "ledge" is shrinking is it's going away from my external abdominal oblique area towards the middle of my abdominals. I know you cannot…

Ever have a pair of running or walking shoes that were sheer foot-perfection? What kind of shoe was it?

Terrified of Eating Above a Deficit
Hi all. I am nearing maintenance and I need to start doing more strength training and trying to build muscle to both fill some space and increase my BMR. But I'm desperately afraid of not eating at a deficit, or god forbid, seeing the scale go the other way. What do I do? I've previously lost this weight and gained it…

Did counting calories make you more food adventurous?
I used to be a "cheeseburger, spread only" person. Then I went vegan and explored veggie alternatives, which did broaden my food choices. I still avoided actual vegetables like the plague. It wasn't until I made the concerted effort to lose weight/eat healthy that I began to eat a wide variety of vegetables and try things…

Difference between measuring via cups v. weight
Has anyone else been amazed by the difference between measuring your food via measuring cups, or estimated counts v. actually weighing it? Like the Alexia sweet potato fries, the "about 12" looks nothing like the actual grams. Or 1 cup of cereal v. the 33g it says.

Does anyone ever actually hit their potassium RDI? I never even seem to come close.

Prime worry: Excess skin
So, I recently hit an amazing mark. I've lost 80lbs. I am 5 pounds away from being the thinnest I have been in my adult life, and a short 40lbs from my ideal weight. The last time I was this close, I completely reverted and gained it all (plus twenty) back. I am not worried about gaining it back this time, my life and…

Do you guys take breaks when working out?
Like, 15 on 15 off on the elliptical and such? When I up the intensity, I do, and then as it gets easier I stop, I was just curious if others do it, and if it's good, bad, other wise.
