Losing weight but looking fatter? HELP!!!
So about 2 weeks ago I began doing a combo of yoga, pilates, and aerobics (mostly Zumba) classes alternating days and I have been going to the gym 5-6x a week. I have been sticking to my diet and the scale is dropping, I'm down about 3lbs in the last 2 weeks. So I would be happy, except my tummy and thighs are actually…

Potassium
According to MFP I need to eat 3500 mg of potassium a day. Is that correct? Is that humanly possible on a low calorie diet? I would have to eat 7 bananas a day (750 calories) 3.5 cups of almonds a day (2800 calories) 4 cups of raisins (1730calories) 3 avacados (870 calories) 2 tablespoons of chili powder (50 calories)…

I got sick and gained weight!
I came down with the flu on Monday and have put on 3 lbs! This is really frustrating because I worked so hard last week to lose weight, and now I'm almost back to square 1. I know I should've watched what I was eating better but I've been in bed sleeping and haven't really had the energy to read labels and count cals. I…

TRX/HITT - Am I too weak?
So I signed up for a small gym super close to my house that specializes in TRX/HITT type classes. It's super close and convenient and the first class or 2 was great, but even after taking a couple days off I am still sore and I feel weak and wussy. Am I too weak to actually do well in this class? I keep pushing myself, but…

Junk food EVERYWHERE.
I am super good at avoiding temptaions like fast food and those donuts at the office. However in my own home, I struggle. For the past 2 months I have been living with my parents (not what I wanted to do, believe me). My mother constantly has 4 different bags of chips, 3 packages of cookies, candy and all sorts of not good…

Injuries and working out...
I seem to keep hurting myself. I know I am not going to build new muscle unless I push myself, but my body keeps fighting me. I warm up, stretch and all the general stuff they tell you to do. I am feeling really frustrated because every time I feel like I am making a bit of progress, something happens. Over the last few…

My boobs! They shrank! NSV
And I couldn't be happier they have shrunk. Like a lot. Not that I am a member of the itty-bitty-titty club **YET**, but today I went into a real store, with dressing rooms and I bought a bra that fit. For the last 7-8 years I have had to special order bras online because my cup size was a 36 or 38 H. Pretty sure the H…

Starving at night... and sabotaging myself.
I try to eat small meals thru the day, and I find myself snacking a lot with most meals being 200-300 calories. A typical day for me is 7 AM - eggs or oatmeal - 200 - 300 10:30 - yogurt, banana, or fiber bar - 100 -150 12:00 - soup, salad or ready made meal thingy - 300 - 400 3:00 - apple, carrot sticks, string cheese -…

Knee/quad injury question
I have a question for anyone that knows anything about sports injuries of the knee area. My knee has been hurting a little and I have been having these fluttering spasms in my musicle/tendon above the kneecap and go up into the quadricep toward the inside of my leg. I can't see any brusing or swelling, but it hurts to walk…

Not losing?
About 8 months ago I lost 40 lbs using this site. I stopped dieting and maintained 170 for 6 months. Then I gained 3 - 5 lbs back in January following a car accident where I was told not to exercise and I left a job where I was on my feet 8 hours a day for a desk job. I lost the weight I gained post car accident really…

Why am I always tired after I eat?
Does anyone else have this issue? I will eat a meal, doesn't matter what food or how much food as long as its bigger than a snack, and I will feel wiped out like I need a nap. I know it takes energy to process the meal but I feel like this is excessive. Any one have any ideas?

Workout ideas following a neck injury
At the beginning of the week I started a medical leave from work due to a neck injury I received in a car accident. Now my weight is creeping up because not only am I sedentary, but I am also bored and stress eating. My physical therapist okayed me to do low-impact exercise but I would be spending hours walking to burn…

40 lbs in the last 11 months
It's hard to believe its only been 11 months since I joined. Some days I still feel like I weigh 210lbs, but more and more I am seeing how much weight I really have lost and how much my body has changed. Here is a before and after picture to show how much a 40lb weight loss changes you.

Whiplash = no gym time?
So I was in a car accident a week and a half ago. I was pretty beat up and I was told that I have whiplash. My back hurts, my neck hurts my shoulders hurt... you get the idea. Even being up and walking around seems to aggravate things. I am frustrated because all I want to do is hit the gym, but my body says "couch". I am…

Are you just starting out?
My friend just joined this site, I have been on here for almost a year and am back on the wagon after a 3 month hiatus. She asked me for some dinner ideas and I thought that a lot of the new dieters could use some of my ideas as well. Here is what I sent her. I try to eat between a 400-600 calorie dinner. If you eat early…

Halloween NSV!
I have been overweight/obese for most of my teen years and all of my adult life. I have always loved Halloween and getting dressed up, but finding a costume at a store was always a depressing experience. I had to find the small plus size section and hopefully find something fun. Many years I just tore up some old clothes…

Anyone need an accountability buddy?
I am having a really rough time getting back on track with my diet/workout routine. A few months back I lost 30lbs. I fell off the wagon and resumed all my terrible habits. I need to get back on track so I can lose another 30 to hit my goal. I was thinking if I had someone to watch my diet and keep me on track and I did…

I'm not hungry?
I've been going through a very painful episode of life. A lot of things have changed or are about to and I don't know if I could feel more emotionally drained. I am living with depression and normally I would look to food to console me, but after 3 months of MFP dedication, I am finding the opposite to be true. I barely…

I gained weight? WTF?
I'm stressed about my weigh-in tomorrow morning. It seems this week I have gained weight, not lost, for the first time. It's nothing substantial, perhaps a 1lb, but it bothers me none the less. I have been super good this week, almost spot on with calories and worked out at least 20 min (and some days over an hour) 6 times…

BMI vs Body Fat%
I understand that BMI is a simple equation to figure out how obese/overweight one is. According to BMI I am 29.6. I also own a scale that measures your body fat% and it varies slightly day to day but is about 33.5% on average. Does that mean that I am actually fatter (have more body fat) than the BMI equation suggests?…

Super tired... but can't sleep at night.
I've been a good girl for the last 3 days by hitting the gym and keeping under my calorie goal (1700 at the moment). I usually work out between 6 and 7 for an hour, mostly cardio, with about 15 min. of strength. I eat before and after my workouts, usually dinner before and then a small snack as a reward for the gym. I…

Weight loss due to stress
I am in a very stressful situation in which the outcome may be be ending my 3 yr relationship, moving 700 miles away, having no job, and a nasty bunch of debt. I've dropped 3-4 lbs in 5 days. I am still following through with MFP because my goals in life haven't changed, my health being the most important, and eating my…

Weight gain... ugh
The last few days I have been feeling off, kinda bloated and sick to my stomach. I went quite a bit over on my calories a couple days last week, but not enough to gain a full pound. Also, Ihaven't had the chance to do any cardio. (I have been playing softball/practices 3x a week) And now I have gained back a lb. My weight…

Under 200, unofficially.
I jumped on the scale today and it said 199lbs. I don't officially weigh in until Sunday, but I had to share my excitement.

Am I losing weight too fast?
I have my calorie intake set for 1.5lbs a week, but this week I've lost closer to 5lbs, not that I am complaining, but could this do me damage in the long run? I thought about upping my calorie intake but at 1700 I feel like I am eating plenty and at the end of the day I almost always have a few (less than 50) cals left.…
