Back on Track!
Today I had an appointment with my trainer/nutritionist after being very inconsistent over the past 4 months with diet and exercise. In that time I have gained 10lbs and gone from 22% bf back to 30% bf. Needless to say, it was time to get back on track! Once again I have a meal and exercise plan that has me excited to…

It's starting to kick in....
.....that I am no longer 210 lbs or a size 16! I went out and bought size 10 jeans and skirt (which I never would have worn before) and medium tops. My brain is finally adjusting to seeing that I am getting fit and am so close to meeting my goals! It's kinda freaking me out but I like it!

Ever try to help...
...and then just get frustrated? A co-worker of mine has been working out with a group for about 8 weeks. She was complaining about how she's been exercising for 2 hours a day, making changes in her diet, but isn't seeing results. I asked her what her trainer was doing regarding their nutrition. She said he asks people at…

NSV from an old friend
i saw an old coworker yesterday, I hadn't seen her in about 3 months. She said that I looked like the old me, from when she first met me 4 years ago. That was also when I weighed about 30 lbs less than I do now! It's amazing what proper nutrition and working out will do. I suspect I am on my way to being healthy and fit…

Unsolicited Advice
Yesterday was my leg day. I typically switch up my workouts so that my body doesn't get used to the same thing on that given day. Yesterday I was working on my superset of lunges and deadlifts when a member of the gym approached me: Him: Can I ask you a question? Me: (annoyed because he caught me in the middle of my…

Snowpocalypse 2012 :)
Hope everyone has been able to get back to "normal" this weekend. We finally got power Friday night and have been having folks over to warm up and take showers. My eating and exercise has been lacking so back to the daily grind tomorrow. I hope everyone is safe tonight, whether at home or at family/friends/hotel. Tracie

2 month progress-NSV
for the pat two months I've been working with a trainer/nutritionist. I workout with her 2X per week and see her for nutrition every 2 weeks where she changes my meal plan and Cardio. Total I do Cardio in the morning for 40 minutes, then 20 (now 30) minutes of Cardio followed by weight lifting at night 4 times per week. I…

SV and NSV!
I did my weigh in today and have lost another 3.6 pounds. Thats a total of 8lbs in the last 34 days! In the last 2 weeks i have lost 1/2 inch in each arm, 1 inch in my chest, 2 inches in my waist and 1/2 inch in each calf. I gained 3/4 inch in my hips and a little in my thighs. Overall a success! My trainer said to expect…

NSV 31 days in!
I have been on my weight loss journey for 31 days now. I have been doing cardio at least 5 days per week, doing weight training 4 days per week and have been seeing a trainer/nutritionist. I bought a size 14 jeans about 3 weeks ago and now they are falling off! I noticed my anterior deltoids popping out as well. :)…

Taste bud Change?
I've noticed that since I changed my eating and my cravings for all things bread-y and pasta-y have passed, my taste buds seem to have changed a bit. Has this happened to anyone else? I was walking through the bread aisle and it smelled very yeasty to me. The thought of eating heavier carbs is no longer appealing...which…

Same weight, but small NSV
My weight has remained very constant over the last few months. I have been doing mostly strength training and staying around 1500 cals/day. I went to the store to get new jeans and low and behold....I've gone from a size 16 to a loose size 14! It helps put perspective on although the scale may not be moving, my body is…

The conversation between my mind and body this morning
Mind: Good Morning! Body: *groan* it’s 4:40am…I get 20 more minutes of sleep. Mind: You do realize that you won’t go back to sleep, that you’ll just lay there. Body: Shut up…it’s 20 more minutes…I’m not getting up before 5am. Mind: Okaaaay….. (A bit later) Mind: Time to get up! Body: Really? It’s 4:48! You couldn’t let me…

Finally figured out NSV!!
This morning as I was getting ready for work, I glanced in the mirror and noticed that the wiggly jiggly fat pad on the backs of my arms has diminished! There is still the hint of "I am still here, I haven't gone away just yet" but it is definitely better! Now the rest of my body needs to catch up! LOL! Have a great day…

Frustration over work support
I must admit, the last 4 days have been hard eating wise for me. The weekend was hot, in which case I never want to eat. Couple that with the fact that I was out of town made it a bit harder to eat anything healthy. Monday and Tuesday weren't much better as I gave in to my cravings. Yesterday and today have been better as…

You want me to eat how often??
Today I started my nutrition plan from my trainer. 1500 calories split up into 6 meals a day. So far I feel pretty good, although I've still got 2 meals to go! Eating every 2 hours or so feels like that's all I'm doing. I've been reading that my weight may go up until my body recognizes that it's getting good fuel and will…

Slow Strength Training
Is anyone else doing slow strength training? I am doing it 2x per week; 7-8 different machines with 1 set of 5-7 reps at max weight. Just curious as to others results. I am gaining strength rather quickly, not bulking up but toning! :)
