Anyone lose 100+ pounds WITHOUT surgery?
I have nothing against bariatric surgery. I had one done myself, but after 10 years of problems with no weight loss because of said problems, it was finally reversed and I feel amazing, like I am human again! I am now looking at losing 100+ pounds, and would love to hear from anyone who has done it without surgery.…

I need help
I talked with my trainer about this today, and he suggested I post it here. I have been overweight my entire adult life, and finally decided to do something about it last year. After a year of working out, but not eating right, I managed to lose about 30 pounds. I recently had a medical scare that left me basically…

Calorie burn?
I am questioning my calorie burn. I have a HRM, and I work my *kitten* off in the gym....50 minutes to an hour in the morning of HIIT on the bike for 20-30 min and the elliptical for 30 min, 6X a week, definitely pouring sweat at the end of my session. I also do strength training 3X a week for 50 minutes with my personal…

Extremely obese to "average"? PICS PLEASE!
Just having one of those days where it seems like I am never going to get there, and could really use the motivation!!! :flowerforyou:

Would you rather...
...eat smaller amounts of whatever you want, or eat larger amounts of healthy food, while staying under your calorie goal? I was definitely the former, now I am the latter. I love a big salad!!!

How much do you trust your HRM?
I have a HRM with a strap that I bought for a midline price. While I know I am a big girl, and I will naturally burn more calories throwing my weight around, it seems that I burn SO much more than my MFP pals. I need opinions...do I trust it, or buy a super expensive HRM?

Help me figure out eating!
I started this journey very slowly about 2 years ago, and have had pretty good success taking it one day at a time. Last June, I decided that I wanted to accelerate my weight loss while toning up, so I hired a personal trainer. Once I got in the habit of seeing him 3x a week, I started going to the gym every morning, 6x a…

TWO NSV's in 12 hours!
Last night, before bed, I was stretching and ran my hand over my shoulder. I freaked out for a minute, because I felt a big, hard lump and immediately thought "OMG, I have cancer". Turns out it was my shoulder bone! I haven't felt that in years!!!! Then, this morning as I am getting ready for the gym, I get a text, so I…

Woooohaaaa!!!
So I decided to register for a 5K before I even started working out. :noway: It's coming up at the end of this month, and I had NO idea how far I could actually walk/run. I do the stationary bike at the gym and work out with a trainer 3 days a week, but I don't do the treadmill because my feet are so bad. Today, I just…

Question about 5K
I just went to register for the 5K that I have been working toward and looked through some pictures from last year. ACK. Not one single fat person in any of those photos, and now I am feeling self conscious and out of place. If you have run/walked a 5K...have you seen any overweight people AT ALL? I'm still going to do it,…

Advice please! Exercising through the pain
A bit of background. I'm at about 290 right now, down from my highest weight of 341. I have recently bumped up my workouts and the level of intensity of my workouts quite aggressively, and I feel pretty good. After a 25 mile bike ride and a very intense hour long strength training session with my trainer yesterday, I got…

Advice please! :)
*I wrote this out and then my thread disappeared. If it reappears, please don't hate me for doubling up!* Here's my story in a nutshell. Weighing over 300 pounds, I decided to enlist the help of a personal trainer. Things were going well for a few months, then a few medical mishaps caused me to lose a month with him. I've…

I broke up with my scale
After doing so well for three days...great nutrition, awesome logging, two hour workouts, lots of water etc., I got on my scale and it said I had GAINED 5 pounds. :noway: As a fellow MFP'er pointed out, I would have had to have eaten an extra 17,500 calories to gain 5 pounds, and as another pointed out, I shouldn't weigh…

Does your body make sense to you?
I will never understand mine. Day three of extensive workouts, serious calorie cutting, lots of fruits and veggies....and I am UP 5 pounds. *shakes head*

Need support
Hi everyone! Here's the story.... I started my journey 18 months ago and lost 41 pounds on WW. I maintained that loss for a year. I recently started an entire life transformation by enlisting a personal trainer for an hour a day, three days a week, doing an hour of cardio in the gym the other three days a week (taking a…

Helllooooo!
Just re-started my journey last week, complete with a HOT personal trainer (thanks again to the big Guy in the sky for that!). Last year I lost 41 pounds and managed to keep it off, even through the death of my mother. Her early demise really has kicked me in the butt to get this weight off and not go out like she did.…
