I need help

I talked with my trainer about this today, and he suggested I post it here.
I have been overweight my entire adult life, and finally decided to do something about it last year. After a year of working out, but not eating right, I managed to lose about 30 pounds.
I recently had a medical scare that left me basically immobile for 4 months. I gained 20 pounds back during that time.
I had surgery, then started easing in to Paleo/Primal, which really seems to work for my family. I started back with my trainer, started back at the gym.
The first week, I lost 10 pounds. Since then....nothing. I am going on week 7.
Everyone said to watch the inches instead, so I checked with my trainer...no change.
I won't be giving up...I love my increase in stamina and endurance, and I really do like the way this way of eating.
So here's my question. Should I give up on the idea of an "after"? It seems to beat me down when I see all these people that have made it happen. It makes me wonder what is wrong with me, and if I should just be content with my more active lifestyle and healthier food habits?
