Shoe Advice
I'm looking to purchase a pair of shoes for running, and another for when I do my at-home workouts (Jillian Michaels DVDs, some HIIT). I currently have a pair of Nike Free 5.0 that I got on sale last year when I took up exercising, but I don't find them to be comfortable for anything other than walking around. Does anyone…

Running Shoes or Adjustable Dumbbells??
I have a bonus coming up at work and I'm having a difficult time choosing what I want the bonus to be. We receive monetary bonuses quarterly, but each month we receive rewards for meeting targets/completing projects. I am trying to decide if I should ask for new running shoes or money towards Bowflex SelectTech Adjustable…

I'm going to stop logging
Hello MFP friends :) I started using MFP 334 days ago. Unlike a lot of people who use this website, my goal was not to lose weight. I wanted to develop a better understanding of what I was putting into my body, learn more about fitness, and put on some healthy weight after a difficult time in my life that led my weight to…

Scratch on my FitBit ChargeHR screen!
Yesterday I noticed a scratch on the screen of my Charge HR. I've only had it for 5 days! I read an article about using toothpaste and a Q-Tip to remove scratches, and now my screen looks like I have a smudge on it. :\ Any advice??

A Saturday Night Rant
Every time I visit my old work I hear the words "You've gained weight!" from one person or another. (I used to weigh only 115lbs at 5'8", now I am almost 130) I always smile, I always awkwardly say "Thaaaaanks....?" and attempt to quickly change the subject, because I am polite. The first time this happened, I actually…

Swollen ankles and 30DS
I completed Day 24 of the 30 Day Shred today (so close!). My ankles have been sore for a couple days, so I took a break yesterday. Anyway, today while I was dress shopping, I noticed that my ankles are VERY swollen. I haven't been wearing shoes while I've been working out, and I'm thinking that's part of the problem. I…

My first progress pics!
When I first started using MFP in April my goal was to lose 5lbs and to clean up my eating (I am hopelessly addicted to sugar). I spent a lot of time reading through the forums, gathering information about the different ways people have changed their lifestyles in order to be happier and healthier. After some time I…

I'm ditching my scale for a month!
Has anyone else parted ways with their scale for a period of time? I am currently focused on building lean muscle mass and don't want the numbers on the scale to discourage me. I generally weigh myself 3-4 times a week, but used to weigh myself every day. My goals have shifted within the past couple weeks and I figure so…

Coming to terms with the fact that I am "skinny fat"
I would like to start off by saying that I have never known what it is like to be overweight, but I have struggled with my weight since I was 12 years old. I signed up for MFP and set a goal to lose 5lbs, however I am really looking to educate myself on how to make a lifestyle change. I have read some wonderful articles…
