Numbers are weird
So I'm trying shakeology. I was REALLY REALLY bad since thanksgiving... had the holidays then went on vacation till Jan 7. I've spent the the past couple weeks since we got home getting back on track. I bought the trial pack, so a different shake every day for 7 days. I'm doing the 2 hour testing. Coming back.....again
Hello my lovelies. I've been on MFP off and on for awhile. I'm 41 years old and had a stroke on 1-2-16. No known health risks, I wasn't even fat enough that my dr or myself was concerned lol Now I am full blown type 2 diabetic, have high blood pressure, etc. I've got to get this stuff under control!

I wish my lungs would catch up to my legs!!
So I've repeated week 1 per Dr orders- did w1d1 three times, w1d2 three times, and w1d3 twice (will do this day again on Thursday, and Saturday). Tonight I was doing so well- all of my run intervals were at least 4 mph, and two of 'em were 6 mph. My legs really are pushing me along, and the knees/shins/hips/back have quit…

Thinking ahead- buy a treadmill or join the gym?
Im thinking ahead to our brutal winters here in north western Ohio...I very much prefer the summer heat over the winter cold and ICE....Should I just buy a treadmill? (I already have a small weight machine thing and a ball/bands...thinking about the Total Gym as well) or join a gym? I can't decide.

Completed my fat 5k, but had to walk it!
I participated in our local July 4th 5k yesterday. It started at 9 am. By that time it was already 90 degrees and 80% humidity, and we were under a heat advisory! There were 1,000 people in the race, a huge crowd! It was awesome! I had good intentions, I was hoping to run a good portion of it but that didn't work out so…

Dr visit today
Finally got to the Dr because of the breathing issue. Actually saw the nurse practitioner (oh how I adore the NPs- they actually SPEND TIME WITH YOU!!!), and the student nurse, so I had a GREAT visit. The student nurse happens to be a runner, so I really picked her brain, gave her my whole story about how long it's taken…

FINALLY! W2D1
After bouncing around in week one for the longest time (due to injury, illness, family visit, and breathing issues), I FINALLY completed W2D1 today. I was able to run all of the intervals except the middle one- I quit 10 seconds early (partly because of the dog yanking on me). I AM SO HAPPY!!!!

Shins, oh dear Lord, the shins
OK I am really having a rough time here. My shins are KILLING ME! They've been sore since I started, which I kind of expected for a few reasons- Im out of shape, Im over weight, and I run on asphalt. They've been sore (sometimes have some calf soreness, too), but tolerable. Until Monday. Monday I moved on to w2d1. I could…

How did you get your breathing under control?
I have been doing week 1 for over 2 weeks- well, I got through week 1, did W2D1 (and about DIED!) and had to take the time off for the shins....Since I've been back on it, I've been doing week 1 for a week and a half. I CANNOT BREATHE. Yes, I've followed my own advice and slowed down as slow as I can. Did W1D3 again today…

Tips for C25K-ers
I thought I'd post the tips I had here on it's own, so if anyone wants to read, it's easier to find. This is what I've learned after trying C25K about 2 years ago and quitting due to hurting myself...and from restarting this time around. I hope it helps! 1. Never be afraid to repeat days or even weeks. I had to take over a…

Signed up for 5K on July 4
Our city does a 5k run/walk on July 4th. I signed up for it. Im no where near ready to run a 5k, but since it's a run/walk, I figure I'll run what I can :) Very excited but nervous, too.

Summer is killing me
I have three teenagers. And we grill out nearly every night. I take the kids to the lake once a week for the entire day, so we pack food. I really need some good, pack able lunch ideas. Stuff that can be in the cooler for a good part of the day and not become gross. Any ideas?

Anyone use iPod Nano?
Im thinking about getting a nano, rather than use my phone, since the nano is so tiny and can just clip onto your clothes. Are there any couch to 5k apps that work for the nano?
