Stalled weight loss
I am just 5 ft. 1 inch. I weighed 228 lbs. in 2015 and I lost 59 lbs. It took several years. I now weigh 169. But I have stalled and been between 166 and 171 for the last 3 months! I still am just a few pounds heavy enough to be considered obese. I sure would love to be below that obese line? Any ideas? I have a job that…

Restaurant Choices with Reasonably Low Calorie Meals
I always have a hard time when eating at restaurants. It seems so many items are SO HIGH in calories. We had a gift card for Panera bread and we decided to use it this evening for dinner. I was very happy with the food and few calories I used. I discovered that the half Asian Salad with Chicken was only 200 calories and…

"Sugars"
I am using the MFP diary daily. Should I worry about the values at the bottom of the diary when I have totals of sugar in red indicating I am eating too much sugar? I do eat mostly fruit that results in those numbers. Today I already ate a banana, 2 tangerines, a put 6 raisins in my breakfast oatmeal.

It's a Good Time for Salads
We love salads at our house! There are many, but one thing I do is look up menus of salads on restaurant websites. I just buy the ingredients and make them myself. Tonight we had a strawberry and berry salad similar to the Strawberry Field salad at Wendy's. Yummy! Besides the typical vegetables I added sliced chicken…

364 Days of Tracking Your Calories on MFP
Does anyone want to join me in making a commitment to tracking your calories on MFP for every day of 2017? I have been using MFP for several years and have lost over 70 pounds but still would like to lose about 30 more. I admit I have slacked off calorie tracking the last 5 weeks. Do you want to join me in tracking…

My weight loss has been slow recently so I looked at a picture taken 2 years ago and one taken last month. Comparing the two pictures sure helps. The pictures tell the story and help me to "press on".

Ideas for getting rid of abdominal fat?
I have lost over 70 lbs in 6 years and still have about 30 lbs to lose. But I still have a big "spare tire". I mostly do cardio and a few weights for strength. Any ideas to help get rid of abdominal fat? Maybe some exercise or particular foods?

BMR, exercise, and calories
I just checked my BMR under the APPS tab. It told me my BMR is 1336 calories. I have been limiting myself to 1100-1300 calories a day. I usually stay 1100-1200 on days I do not go to the gym, but do approach 1300 on gym days. As I have been losing weight, the cardio machines tell me I am burning up less and less calories…

One Year Using MyFitnessPal
One year ago today I started using MyFitnessPal. 365 days later, I must say that I am so glad for this online tool! It has made a real difference. I am now 30 pounds lighter than a year ago, and 50 pounds lighter than I was 5 years ago. I feel so much better. 30 pounds may not seem as much as you might expect for one year.…

Should I see a doctor?
Hip-hip-horray! I lost a grand total of 0.6 pounds for the month of June. I have stuck very closely to 1200-1400 calories a day, logged all I ate, and exercise at the gym vigorously 3-4 times a week for over an hour each time. I am considering seeing my doctor, but I don't know if I am more afraid that they will not…
