Ideas for getting rid of abdominal fat?

I have lost over 70 lbs in 6 years and still have about 30 lbs to lose. But I still have a big "spare tire". I mostly do cardio and a few weights for strength. Any ideas to help get rid of abdominal fat? Maybe some exercise or particular foods?

It's just weight loss. You can't choose which parts of your body lose fat first. You can tone your core so that it looks fantastic when the fat comes off, but the fat comes off only with a calorie deficit.
Edited because I feel like I sound unsympathetic. I'm not. It stinks that it's this way. I think I look pretty good, but I still have a bit of a blubbery stomach, which is skin or fat or both. Who knows. I am just being patient.3 -
Unfortunately, it doesn't really work that way as spot reduction is not possible.
Where you lose weight first or last is largely genetic and can't really be influenced other than continued calorie deficit and overall fat loss. For many, the stomach or midsection is the last to go, and it's just something we have to grow accustomed to.
Wish there were a better answer... sorry.3 -
Just keep working on losing those next 30 lbs and you'll start to notice a difference. We all carry fat differently and sometimes the skin doesn't bounce back as well as we'd like but you've already made great progress so just keep it up! I'm sure your mid-section will improve with time.3

No exercises or special foods will help.2 -

Great work so far!
Continue losing your excess fat. Stomach fat is often the last to go. By "last to go" I mean it may seem to be disproportionate in size to other fat deposits until the final 5 pounds even.1 -
Your body will decide how it loses weight...
Understand your LBM and focus on bf% reduction.
Best way to keep LBM up while reducing bf%?
Lift weights. Build muscle. Feed it (protein).1 -
No target fat loss, but "double crunches" (lift your knees up to your chest and bring arms from above your head to your knees, never let head or shoulders touch the ground) with a 25-lb. plate helps to give muscle definition even under fat. That way something is awaiting for you when fat is lost. You can also do a reverse plank hold, knee ups, scissor kicks...trick to these is to never let head or neck touch the ground. Ball knee ups are great for lower abs (plank position with feet on a ball, roll ball up with feet and touch knees to chest...slow for best results) and so are Roman Chair variations with knee-ups and angled knee ups.3

I feel your pain as even with weight loss I still have a jiggling butt. We can't choose where the weight comes off. To help tight core I think the plant and various exercises associated with it helped me a lot.1

Patience. It's generally the last to go...1 -

Agreed. It sounds like you're doing great! Just stay the course and it will keep getting better. You might find yourself having lost all the weight and still having some issue there as many people do (mine is my thighs), but if you keep being persistent you'll get there. It takes time, but it can be done.

Thank you for your comments. Yes, I will continue to work on losing more weight. May add a few extra exercises and watch to make sure I am getting enough protein, too, Peaceout and Jessie. Need some variety now anyway. See what happens.0
