What would you do in this situation? What should I do?
I'm 5'4 and 112 pounds. I eat 2000 calories a day, and walk 3 miles six days a week. This week I have not exercised for 3 days (2 days without exercise is the maximum amount I allow myself, but there was a severe storm where I live yesterday, so I was stuck inside). And yesterday, I mistakenly ate an extra 180 calories…

Gained 2lbs in a week?!
How did this happen? I'm 5'4 and last week I went to my dietician and I weighed 113lbs (about a 1lb weight gain in 2 months) and today I went to the doctor and I weighed 115.6. I haven't changed my diet in since two weeks before I went to the dietician (I eat 2000 calories a day and walk 3 miles). I was wearing nearly the…

Honestly, is 5'4 considered short on a girl?
I'm sorry if this is the wrong category. I didn't know where else to put it considering that it's not really weight related. I'm 5'4. I'm not worried, self conscious, or embarrassed about it. I'm fine with it and my height's out of my control anyway. I was just curious of you would consider it short. I don't want any sugar…

Should I lower my intake now or wait until I see my dietician?
I'm sorry that I'm always posting for advice, but I do appreciate everyone's and I find them very helpful. I'm recovering from anorexia, and a while ago I reached my goal weight of 110 lbs. Currently, I'm 113lbs and I don't like be over my goal weight, though I know logically that 3lbs isnt much to be over by. It stresses…

Could I have some words of support?
I'm recovering from anorexia and a few weeks ago I met my goal weight of 107. I'm still on a high meal plan, but I'm maintaining. I just met with my nutritionist and she wants me to keep eating 2300 calories a day. This is making me really anxious and I need some support so I can get through this without restricting. Does…

What should I do now that I'm at my goal weight?
I'm recovering from anorexia and I have giant hit my goal weight of 105 lbs (side note: I'm 5'4). This is the agreed upon weight with my doctor and nutritionist. I've been eating 2300 calories. I don't see my nutritionist until Monday. What should I do with my intake until then? I don't want to keep gaining, but I can't…

How bad is it to go over the recommended sodium level?
I hear that you should try to stay under 2200-2300mg a day because sodium can have negative effects on your cardiovascular health. I'm on a high-calorie diet, so I find it difficult to follow that recommendation. Usually I get 2600 mg a day. I know that's not hugely over, but is it actually bad for me?

How much potassium is too much?
I've been trying to have more potassium in my diet, and I think I'm doing well. I'm 5'4 and 100lbs and I have about 3500 a day. I'm curious about what the upper limit for someone my size would be.

How many calories are in a Californian orange?
There's no label on the pakaging. They're about the size of a softball. I've been logging it as 140 calories. Here's a picture: . (I'm not sure if the link works. I'm really sorry if it didn't.) Does anyone know or have a good guess?

How would increasing my intake after restricting affect me?
I've been eating about 900-1000 calories a day recently and I'm, starting today, going to eat 1200 calories no matte what. I was diagnosed with anorexia in October and though I was weight restored (5'4 88lbs to 120lbs) I began to relapse and now I'm 101-103lbs. I'm realizing now that I'm heading down the same miserable…

Zero-calorie flavored tea?
My mom got some strawberry flavored tea that says it's zero calorie. I'm kind of interested, but I've heard so many bad comments about them being bad for you and causing weight gain. I'm just curious, would having one with lunch only for today have any effect on me, or should I just forget about it altogether?
-
Would 1880 calories a day cause a .5-1lb weight gain?
My doctor wants me to maintain a weight of around 120lbs. I am currently under that, and I have to get back up. I am 5'4 and 112lbs. I've gone online and used countless TDEE calculators, but I decided to try and figure it out myself (those calculators, including MFP's, haven't been accurate in the past). I found that my…

Does anyone know what brand this is?
I can't find the box. It's a chocolate peanut butter spread, in little cups (similar to Jif to-go cups), and the packaging around these cups are mostly white and yellow. It is not Jif, Skippy, or Hershey.
-
Does Walmart have those individual peanut butter packets?
I'm talking about Monarch 21g peanut butter packets you might find in a cafeteria they look like this: http://www.cobornsdelivers.com/displayproductdetail?productId=43084&catalog=&areaId=&facilityId=100&locationCode=SEARCH If not, do you know of another type of individual packet with similar nutritional value?

Could high sodium cause my legs to swell up?
*Sorry if this isn't in the right category, it's the only place I thought it would fit.* I've noticed my legs and hands (mostly legs) have felt a bit puffy lately and it's only gotten worse. I can not squat comfortably now because of it and it's starting to hold me back. I've noticed it's worse at night. I was diagnosed…

Anyone have any good Christmas-themed dessert ideas?
We're planning a bake sale next month. Every time we've done this in the past, no one buys my stuff. I want something exciting and fun, preferably with a Christmas theme. I know it might early to start planning, but I am determined for people to want what I make. Don't hold back-no rules except the obvious no alcohol…

Was this dangerous?
Within the last 40 minutes I drank two full 16.9 oz water bottles. I didn't really mean to-- I wasn't paying attention. I heard it was dangerous to drink too much water. Was two bottles in an hour bad?

Recovery?
Between August and now a lot has changed. I was diagnosed with anorexia recently, though I have not mentioned it on this site yet because I'm in between therapists. My first therapist, my GP, and a counselor all agree that I should go into inpatient. I do not want to do that. I'm trying to fix myself, but it's hard. I've…

Very specific nutritional labels...?
I've noticed that a few labels on my food are specific on the amount of calories. Sour patch kids says 56 per 2 bags, Japanese marshmallow candy my friend sent me says 53 per serving, and some gummies I have say 134 per serving. I know labels often round the calorie content up or down a little. My question is that on the…

Why does unpopped popcorn have more calories than popped?
I'm not freaking out over the calorie count or anything. Just curious. We have bags of mini popcorn for Halloween. The label on the bag says 190 calories for unpopped and 160 calories for popped. Why is that? Aren't the contents in the bag the same either way, cooked or uncooked? Am I missing something really obvious?

Does the calorie content increase as food rots?
Obviously, I'm not going around shoving moldy apples and bread in my face, but after noticing my yogurt started to smell funny, it just made me wonder. So, does it?

What is the WORST weight loss advice you've ever been given?
My friend seems to think fat is what makes you fat, so she tried to cut out every gram of fat she can to lose weight. While I can see where her reason is coming from, I tried to tell her that it wasn't true and she actually needs some fat in her diet. She didn't believe me at first, but after some convincing she decided…

Gaining weight...?
Yesterday I weighed myself and I was .2lbs heavier than the day before. This morning my weight was the same as yesterday. A few minutes ago I weighed myself again and I weighed .4lbs more than this morning. My sodium levels are not high, I did not drink or eat anything since breakfast (oatmeal bar and yogurt). This week I…

Calories in a can of green beans?
I'm planning my food out for tomorrow. I don't have much in the pantry for dinner. It's either mac and cheese or green beans. I think green beans would be the better choice. The can says 20 calories per serving, and about 3.5 servings a can. That's about 70 calories, but it could be more. I don't have a food scale. My…

Could this have made the scale read a bigger number?
I know I've just asked a question like this yesterday, but it hasn't left my mind. My scale has always been close to the real number (I checked it yesterday). So why did it suddenly jump up 5lbs then back down the next? I hopped on it again today, trying to figure it out. After getting on it a bit (it saying 102 a bunch)…
-
What's up with my scale?
I weighed myself a little bit ago and it said 102.8. I step on it again and it says 102.8. Again 102.4. I stepped on it a bunch and it gave me numbers in that range, then suddenly it said 107.8. Then back to 102.8. Why did the number suddenly jump up? Do I really weigh 107 and it's been wrong every time, or is it just a…

What's the scariest case of hidden calories in food?
A food or drink that has more calories than most would think. I think it's well understood here that soda, alcohol, and fast food has a lot more calories than you'd think. What are some others? Packaged cookies and candy bars were a big one for me. Two cookies have around 140 (I'm thinking Oreos) I could easily eat half…
