weight loss uneven on body
While I have lost about 70#, my legs and calves have not reduced as much as expected. When I went for my 6 month checkup I had lost only a couple percent of lean body mass thru the weight loss. I also have a spare tire around my waist when sitting. Do these areas keep reducing as time goes on. I have some loose skin, but I…

Carb creep
if we want a different result-we must change our behavior. We all have heard this and I do believe it. After several months out from WLS I have become more comfortable with my new normal. I try to always eat protein first, then some veggies or fruit, followed by carb. I try to keep my carbs to about 50g and protein 60-80 a…

Losing at a turtle pace
I am 10 weeks out and have lost about 24 lbs. I was at 212.8 on surgery day 11/6/14, and this morning 189. I walk about 4 days a week for 2 miles and take a yoga class once a week. Recommendations for vitamins
I am taking a chewable multivitamin that upsets my stomach terribly. I take it with some yoghurt to be able to choke it down. I just can't stand the grape taste. My dr wants me to take a chewable for 6 months. Since surgery I get nauseous from sweet tastes. Any suggestions for a better chewable?

One month out and the turning point
I am one month from my WLS and it seems to be a turning point for starting to feel more normal. I feel well, and my energy is back so I can work a full day and still exercise. I am in the puréed foods stage, but have been able to socialize without too much problems. I am also gluten intolerant, so people aren't too…

Not eating after dinner (or where is my snack?)
I was reading an interesting concept that explained how to get your body to burn your fat stores while sleeping. Very simply, it explained that before your body turns to burning fat you have to use up your glycogen (sugar) stores in your body. It takes several hours after you last eat before you get to that point. If you…

Using extra calories from exerise
What do most of you do about the calories burned by exercise? Do you add the additional calories to your daily total of usable calories? I thought you were not supposed to go below 1200 calories on low carb days and if a person exercised very much it would put you at a much lower usuable calorie level.
