dreamfields, spelt, and sprouted grain - oh my!
So, I went to a a new organic market the other day and found a whole new world of pasta. The problem is, I have no idea what each means. So, dreamfields pasta looks like a pretty good situation - but what are digestible carbs? Are those net carbs? I'm not sure how it's possible to only have 5 grams of carbs in a…

Fitbit, bodybugg, & other calorie/activity trackers.
So, I have a Polar FT4 that I use when I exercise, but I'd like to get something that tracks calories throughout the day. I've been looking at fitbit and bodybugg, but I just don't understand how they work. Does anyone have any personal use/opinions? Do they just track how much you move? What if you're doing a high…

Firming lotion
Anyone had any luck with firming lotion? I mean, I'm not looking for a miracle cream, just a little help in the fight against gravity!

Cottage cheese - SODIUM! :[
So, I love cottage cheese. I actually don't think that love is a strong enough word. I could truly live off of the stuff. If I were stranded on a desert island and you told me I could only eat one thing the rest of my life, it would be cottage cheese. But - the sodium! Why, sodium gods, must you torture me!? I usually go…

Sodium is killing me!
Sodium has been my downfall lately. I just can't seem to stay under the 2500 I'm allotted. Does anyone have any good, filling, low-sodium foods or meals they'd like to share? Thanks!

Is it just me or...
Does it seem like some days you just CAN'T get your HR up? I went to the gym this morning. I walked there (it's only a little over a half mile away) and my HR only got up to around 105. I was going at a decent pace (probably 3-3.5), but I figured it was because it was really cold out (in the lower 30s). Then, at the gym, I…

juicing info.
so, i just ordered a juicer from amazon and i really want to get in to juicing. not so much for a long period of time (because honestly, i'd probably be the crankiest person alive after a few days) but for a day or weekend every now and then as more of a cleanse. and i'd like to incorporate more fresh fruit/veggies in to…

DC-area 5k Walk/Run
Hey guys!!! I don't know how many of us are in the DC/Baltimore/VA area, but there's a 5k walk/run coming up at the end of October (29th) that supports a fabulous cause. I've wanted to do a 5k for a while, but thought it would be great to start out with a walk! Anyway, you can google it if you want to find out more info or…

Why isn't sodium adjusted as you exercise?
Hey guys! So, you know how MFP adjusts all of your goals as you exercise and not just your calorie goal? Why does sodium not adjust? Sodium is expelled through sweat, which means you should replenish your sodium levels after working out/sweating a lot, right? Info is appreciated!

LTL Challenge - ORANGE! (Closed Group)
Hey guys! Let's try to decide on a team captain and a name! Unfortunately, I will be on vacation for the first two weeks of the challenge, so me being captain isn't really possible. I'll still be able to participate with all the activities (my vacation is actually spending 2 weeks in a cabin in the middle of nowhere in…

Zumba for Wii
Any thoughts on zumba for Wii? I want to try it, but before I spend the money I want opinions on whether it's a good workout or not. Thanks!!

My very first NSV!
So, I've lost almost 40lbs since I started losing weight (before MFP back in December) and have been having such a rough time with it. I fluctuated a lot in the beginning - I'd lose 20, gain 30, etc. Finally, I'm back on track but still hadn't seen any results other than the scale. My clothes fit the same, no one seemed to…

Good, Low-Cal, Protein Powders...
Hey guys! I've seen so many great looking homemade protein bars that I want to try, but I have no clue about what protein powder to buy. I want something that's low-cal and low-carb... and preferably one that actually tastes appealing! So far, I've narrowed it down to the GNC Total Lean powders…

Miracle Noodles...
I've seen a few posts and recipes using Miracle Noodles, but I was just wanted some opinions. Have you tried them? Are they good? Opinions? They're a bit expensive ($40 with their s/h) on their website. If anyone has found them somewhere else for cheaper, let me know! Thanks!

I'm getting so bored!!!
So, I've got a predicament. I feel like I'm in such a monotonous routine. I don't have a gym membership because I'm only living in my location for another month, not to mention the closest one is ~20 miles away, so that's pretty much out of the question. I have a pool, so I do laps, walk/jog in the water, and leisurely…

Empty calories vs. no calories at all.
According to MFP, my goal calorie intake should be 1720, plus whatever deficit I have from exercise (I try to burn at least 500 calories extra per day). I'm finding it practically impossible to eat all the calories I'm supposed to, and I usually realize fairly late that I'm going to be almost 1000 calories under what I…

Hi there!
Hello! I started with MFP last week and am happy to say that I've lost 2lbs already! I have a long way to go. I am only 22, but have been overweight for as long as I can remember. I have attempted losing weight several times, but usually give up before I've really even started. Hopefully this time will be different. I lost…

Polar FT4 HR Monitor - help!
Hi there! I posted this on a thread yesterday, but didn't get a response because I was at the end of a thread, so if you've read this, I apologize. I have an FT4 and I have a question that some of you may help me with! I love the monitor for reading my HR, especially when I'm swimming or walking/jogging outside, but I'm…
