so, i just ordered a juicer from amazon and i really want to get in to juicing. not so much for a long period of time (because honestly, i'd probably be the crankiest person alive after a few days) but for a day or weekend every now and then as more of a cleanse. and i'd like to incorporate more fresh fruit/veggies in to my diet!

so, my question is, are there any good books with recipes for juicing? or a book or website that would be EXTRA helpful for people starting out? i've looked around on the internet and found some good sites with general information, but i'm looking for more of a guide of what fruits/veggies to mix for good flavors.

thanks in advance!!

Head to the grocers just to look at the juice section... cranberry grape seems like a great combo... apple cranberry... can't really think of any veggie ones off-hand because I don't buy them but it'll get you started by seeing what is commercially avaialble

At first this was the nastiest most god-awful thing I tasted. Try it 3 times, before you write it off.

My Ex and I used to juice once a week for dinner. (can't imagine days at a time)

His recipe was 1 head of ROMAINE and 2 LBS of CARROTS.
That was enough for the both of us and it was filling enough for dinner and made you feel awesome.

CARROTS, BEETS and GINGER (about the size of a quarter) is another good combo.

CARROTS and CELERY or CARROTS, CELERY and APPLE are also nice.

thanks! the veggies are usually where i get stuck. i know kale is supposed to be good in juicing, but who knows with what!? the other problem i have is i have pretty bad acid reflux with a lot of fruits, so i have to be careful about my mixtures.

i'll definitely check out the juice aisle. apple anything sounds delicious to me! :]

  • From my juicing experience, you can put any veggie in there (kale, carrot, spinach, etc.) and as long as you put an apple in there, it tastes sweet!
  • I have never thought of doing that. Might not be bad!!! Maybe a day might be fine.:flowerforyou:

Apples, pears, carrots, 1 beet, cucumber - goes down pretty smooth!
