Hey guys!

Let's try to decide on a team captain and a name!

Unfortunately, I will be on vacation for the first two weeks of the challenge, so me being captain isn't really possible. I'll still be able to participate with all the activities (my vacation is actually spending 2 weeks in a cabin in the middle of nowhere in Michigan - PLENTY of time for exercise!). My only issue is that I'll only have my cell phone and no internet access (I mean middle of NOWHERE Michigan!), so I would need someone to PM me with the challenges because the iphone app has no message board option! I hope that's not too much trouble!

I'm not very creative as far as a team name goes. I think we're all ladies, so it could be something to do with that. Or anything.

I'm very excited about this challenge, as you can tell by the excessive amounts of exclamation points! :]

I'm on almost every day. I can pm you the details, if you'd like. I'm seriously racking my brain right now and can't think of anything fun or creative for a team name... Any one else with ideas?? Or a volunteer to be captain? I could be captain, but I've never done a challenge before, so if someone else has some team challenge experience, and would like to jump on it, go right ahead!

Well how about Ladies Losing It... Or Pound Droppers.. Or Beautiful Losers.. Or Amazing Shrinking Women.. Or Lovely Ladies Losing..
    Winning Losers
    Chunky Monkeys
    Mission Slimpossible
    Dropping Divas
    Withering A-Weigh
    Any of these sound good?
I am daily user so if necessary I can do the captain thing if we have no other volunteers. I have no experience but what the heck.. LOL

Yes! That would be awesome if you don't mind pming me. And I'll message you back with my data and whatnot. I leave for vacation Sunday morning! Thanks so much!

I guess I'll give some basics about me: my name is Kelsey. I'm 22 and usually live in Baltimore. I'm a grad student and currently on summer break, so I moved back to North Carolina temporarily. I'm more of a suburb kind of person than a big city one! At my highest weight, I was 317. My best friend has lost almost 100lbs over the past year, which was hugely motivating for me. That, coupled with the fact that I started watching reruns of the Biggest Loser to find that I was heavier than anyone that was on the season I was watching kind of pushed me into gear. I joined Weight Watchers online, and then a gym in Baltimore at the end of December. I lost weight pretty quickly on WW, but ended up fracturing my ankle and gaining most of what I'd lost back. Then, I just hit a wall with WW at about 295 (after yoyoing for a while). I found this site in early June and have been sticking with it since, and have lost almost 20 more lbs. In total I'm down about 45lbs since December and definitely want to keep it up.

Look forward to meeting all of you during this challenge!

    -Kelsey

    hello ladies,
I like all the suggestions so far. My favorite is Ladies Losing it .. Because I am always losing it. But I am alright with any of the names. I am a 42 year old living in West Virginia. Have lived her all my life. I started this in February at 337lbs. My doctor wanted me to have weightloss surgery and I told him no . Give me 6 months and if I have lost nothing then we would discuss it. It will be six months in August and I have lost 40 lbs. When I first started working out I could only go about 10 mins but not I go 30 to 45 and can walk a couple of miles. I am on Mfp daily but usually not until after work around 4 or 5 pm. I am so ready for this challenge. I also need to say that I am a christian and I give God alll my Praise and Glory. WIthout him i would still be sitting on the sofa.

Ok so Dropping Divas it is.. I love it!!
Im Jen, I started MFP and my new lifestyle around 2 ans 1/2 months ago and have lost 35 lbs so far.. I watch my scale everyday or other day just to make any necessary adjustments, so far this hasnt caused me to be a scale *kitten* but if I get to obnoxious with it you all can tell me knock it off.. I dont find it easy to make the right choices BUT I will keep doing it.. I believe in myself for the 1st time in my life. I also believe in all of you, I am positive we can make HUGE changes in our lives.. Im extremely grateful to have found MFP and all of my new friends..
    So lets go Dropping Divas..

My intro... I'm Laurie. 30 years old. I have an overweight husband who us interested on losing weight but not commited yet. In January when we lose a car payment, we are joining a gym and he says he will get serious then. We have 2 little boys, 3 and 9. I work full time as a cna. I have been heavy ad long as I can remember. I was in plus sizes as early as Jr. High. My goal is to lose 100 pounds, which will ring me to 175. It's still overweight but I will reassess then. I've never been smaller than that, so I don't know what that will look like on me. Because I have such a busy life, we do eat a lot if processed foods. I'm trying to make changes slowly. I'm always under my calories, but my sodium is higher than I want it to be most days... For work outs, I walk and jog, started step aerobics because its fun but right now I'm trying to survive JM 30 day shred...

So, definitely keep an eye on this thread, and also my status updates for some encouragement along the way. I think we're all friends here, but if not add me and each other!!

    Hi everyone,
Sorry for being MIA for the last few days. After going to the doctor about my hip I found out that I had torn my hip muscle  . I have been resting it since wed and went to physio and had drugs to get it all fixed. Today I woke up and it's feeling pretty good so I'm thinking of giving it one more days rest and then slowly getting back into my workouts. Unfortunately I hadn't checked this posting so didn't realize we had started the challenges but looking back I was under my cal on Friday (which maybe you can count now since it wasn't counted then) and yesterday I walked 1 mile. I'm so sorry for the low numbers but I can guarantee you that from now on I'll do all the nutrition challenges and the extra exercise ones that don't effect my hip too much. Once my hip is fixed for good (maybe in a week) I can step it up in the mile department.
Once again I'm really sorry for being injured and I totally understand if you want to replace me with another team member. However I give you my word that I am a very dedicated person and as soon as I'm fully healed will give this challenge 110%

    More about me:

My name is KJ and I'm from New Zealand however I'm currently working in South Korea. I'm 32 and live with my husband and puppy. My husband and I are both over here teaching at a Uni which is really good as we get treated well and have awesome holidays (4 months paid vacation a year!!). I have always been overweight however when I was young I was very sporty and I really miss this. Living in Korea there are not many social sports out there unless you include soccer (never really been much of a player myself). I really want to loose weight as we are thinking of trying for a child in the next year so in order to have a healthy baby I want to be a healthy mum first! Well that's a little bit about me. I'm really looking forward to getting to know you all and competing in these challenges!!

Well im glad your injury isnt to serious, please dont over-do anything no reason to risk it. Just do what you can and all the points will add up nicely :)

Glad to hear that you're feeling a bit better with your hip! Injuries are the worst, especially once you finally ENJOY getting fit and exercising!

So, as I said before, I'm going to be on vacation starting tomorrow, which means limited internet access. I will still have my phone app, and it occurred to me that I may be able to check the site using my cell phone internet if I can pick it up where I'll be. Tomorrow is a long day of driving (16 hours - uh!) so probably not too much activity for me... unless you want to count the 800 mile drive as part of movement! ;].

I'll message Jen for now, and if you wouldn't mind sending me an update in a message with the daily challenge at least for the first couple of days until I can find out if I have internet at all in Michigan.

Stay safe and healthy, and go Dropping Divas!

Those wood chops were tough!! I couldn't get them all in at once. I may try to finish up later, and I'll send my numbers to Jen once I do.

BTW... Thanks so much Jen for taking over for a while. My son is home :-) Yay! Still not feeling great, but we're working on that. I should be able to take over again in a few days, if you want me to. Or, you can keep it. Whatever you want.

I will pm Kelsey with the challenges while she's on vacation.

You guys are doing great! So proud of you!

    How is everyone going?
Well yesterday I did my crunches and was under my calories. I didn't get any miles in as I wanted to rest my hip for one more day. So today I'm going to try and take puppy for a long walk and see how it goes. My water intake is terrible so I better get my *kitten* into gear and try and get in all those 10 glasses. I'm going to attempt the window wipers and hope my hip holds out.

Laurie - I'm glad to hear that your son is home and getting better. My fingers are crossed that he has a speedy recovery.

Hey all! I'm went into the next town where I get a tiny bit better service so I thought I'd pop on quickly!

Hope everyone's doing well with the challenge! Is there some way we can see how our team is doing in the overall challenge? MFP is difficult to navigate on a cell phone browser! :)

I need to start guzzling some water asap! I'm only on two cups so far, but I've gotten a couple miles in today!

I've been messaging Laurie and Jen so I'm not completely MIA! Just wanted to touch base with the thread!

Happy health to all! And good luck with the windshield wipers and your hip, KJ!

    Hey everyone,
I finished the windshield wipers yesterday and wood chop today. I was also under my cals, and sodium for both days. However I'm sorry to say that my water intake was not up to scratch. I totally forgot about it and then I tried to make up for it but it was too little too late. Next time I promise I will be better.

Yeah Kelsey I agree it would be good if we could see how our team was doing so that can give people motivation where and when it is needed. I really think by posting on this thread what we do each day makes us accountable to the whole team and then we can help get people back on track when they go MIA. What do you guys think???

Hope you all have a great day:happy:

We can look at the spreadsheet and see the other teams numbers overall vs ours. You cant see who to motivate individuals but as a team we can use some we are getting our butts kicked point wise... Here is the spreadsheet link

If you go to the original thread that told us what team we were on and enter it in your web browser it will take to a google page that has a total of three pages. One with the team s , one with the week ly challenge and one with our points. yesterday we had 140 points. day before it was 175 NOt to be a downer but the other teams are doing better.
I am also sorry to say that today has sucked for me when it comes to sodium . I did however do the woodchops and walked for 20 mins so that is one mile.
after friday I will be doing better. VBS will be over and My life will be back to normal.. I hope to get a nother 20 mins in this evening.
Good luck to you all !!

    Good morning everyone!
Well It's Friday here and I can't see any challenges posted yet so I'm just going to try to be under my cal and sodium for the day and go for a walk tonight as well as going to the gym this morning. Yesterday I was successful at staying under my cals so yay more points for the team. Have an awesome day everyone!

AWESOME!!! I love it when you have an attitude! I'll add your totals in for today. BTW... Where are you that it's already Friday?

I sent everyone a private message with the new thread. It's here in case you didn't see it yet. http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/308959-lots-to-lose-challenge-week-2 Friday's goal is to be under calories and do 25 push ups. Modify them if you need to. I've never done more than 10 push ups at once, so I'm going to try to do them all without stopping!!

Also, the rules have changed, so starting Friday, I need to know the number of minutes you worked out. Every 20 minutes will equal 10 points. No more counting miles. Also, the points are still the same for the extra challenges. 10 for exercise and 5 for nutrition.

The last big change is the addition of a rest day. We need to choose one day each week as a rest day. On that day, none of our cardio will count. We can still meet the nutrition challenges for 5 each and every cup of water up to 10 each will count for 10 points. So we can each earn 55 points on our rest days. Everyone has to have one each week. I think for consistency's sake, we should go for the same day every week so it's something we can work into our own routines. If there's a day that's always hard for you to work out, let's try to figure out which day we have most in common. For me, it's usually Fridays, but I'm willing to rest on whatever day is best for the team. So, let me know, and we'll decide on a day. I'd like to do it asap.

Just wanted to add that our lowest points day was Sunday, so if that's typically a bad day for us, maybe that would be a good rest day?
