This was a really close week for alot of the categories! The team percent lost and overall BL were super close, as was the voting for the recipe challenge. This week we lost a total of 28.22 lbs (and a few more members) and since the start of the challenge we are JUST under 200 lbs at 199.94! Our biggest loser of the week…

**Official week 5 thread**
I'll preface this by stating I havent watched the show yet, just am going by a summary I read - and it seems like something fairly shocking happened last night! Week four definitely showed some improvement for alot of people! We had some teams where everyone lost at least 1% and several people who lost over 5 pounds! As a…

Official week 2 thread
Good start to the season everyone! We had a few people miss the weigh in and the challenge, but over all we did a pretty good job. Some people gained (me!) and some had big loses, but no matter how you did just remember that this is a start. If you didn’t have the results you wanted, don’t get discouraged and try to pick…

PRE CHALLENGE WEIGH IN
I apologize to everyone for not having the teams yet - Its been a crazy week and I still stuck away from home and not going to be able to return until tomorrow morning. Anyhow, since the people on the real show dont know what team they are on until the first day, that may be what happens to us. So for this week only,…

What struggles do you face
Since we have a couple weeks before the season officially starts, I thought Id try to get an idea of some of the struggles we all are facing when it comes to our weightloss journey. Maybe you have a bunch or just one big one you cant overcome, or maybe you arent even sure yet where the issue stems from (cue the Jillian…

daily metabolic rate
I know this has been asked a million times before but I cant find a good formula in the search. MFP has me at 1200 cals a day in order to lose 2 pounds a week. I know there are other factors and such that other calculations take into effect to get a better number. I believe what I am looking for is called a TDME or total…

Cross training?
I started (or rather will be starting shortly) a 1/2 marathon training plan that calls for 2 days of cross training a week....1 day for 30 minutes and another day it basically gives you the option of a 2 mile run or cross train. What do people (runners especially) do for cross training? I always kind of thought it was…

Plus one challenge
I've done this before with some friends and thought i'd put it out there for anyone else who may be itnerested in adding this in to our challenge. basically you start off with one rep of an exercise and then add on one more each day . so if you do 1 push up day 1, day two you'd do 2, day 7 you'd be up to 7, etc. You can do…

EDIT: Sorry for double posting, realized this may be better for the food and nutrition section so i moved it there I need some help spicing up my lunch routine (and dinner too). pre cooking eggs
Does any one have any experience in cooking larger quantities of eggs (particularly scrambled egg whites) and then reheating them later? I dont have much time in the morning, so was thinking of preparing a bunch of scrambled egg whites that i could then make turkey sausage egg and cheese bagels with quickly in the morning.…

1/2 marathon training plan
I will be running my 5th 1/2 marathon in November of this year, but still consider myself a pretty novice runner. Its been almost 2 years since my last one and I've never really followed a training plan for any of the others, just kind of did them. I ran my first one all the way through (and was the only one I really…

Start over or just pick back up?
Hi all, I never got too far into this, but was almost done with stage 1 (was on the 8 reps ones, so the last week or two). Then I was diagnosed with Lyme Disease and was so weak and sick that I couldnt work out for a month. I'm feeling much better now and 100% back to normal but its been at least a month and a half, maybe…

women doing the "work" while men stand around?
The other day my husband and I were at home depot getting some supplies for the house/garden. I insisted on pushing the flatbed cart carrying all our lumber and soil around the store and then loading/unloading it into our truck....just to get a little bit of extra exercise in. Similarly at work, I tend to carry the large…

I want to tone
How many of you came in here just to tell me toning is a myth? :drinker: Anyhow, what I really want to do its get more muscle definition and build more muscle. I'm a female in my late 20s and fairly close to my goal weight. I do mostly cardio now, but want to incorporate more strength training. I finally joined a gym so I…

puppy chow recipe?
I'm planning on making puppy chow for the super bowl sunday. I'm certainly willing to have it as a treat and just not eat alot of it, but wondering if anyone has a suggestion for making it lower calorie or more MFP friendly? I know there are other names for this snack/dessert too, but i cant think of any at the moment, but…
