Introductions
I started this group because I figured it would be easier to find than a thread amongst thousands. My name is Samantha. I live in Northern Michigan with my husband and love of my life. We've known each other since we were 10 years old although have only been married since we were 40. Circumstances separated us in high…

Happy New Year!!!!
It will be so wonderful to check back here a year from now and see what we have all accomplished! I expect many of us to be at goal and continuing to strive for a healthier and stronger body. I would love to wear a slinky little black dress for next year's celebrations!

Merry Christmas
A Blessed and Merry Christmas to everyone! I hope you get a lot of hugs and love. It's snowing gently outside. Enough to be pretty without being a snowstorm. Perfect since I will be traveling tomorrow morning to see my kids, grandkids, family and friends. With the holiday looming I hope the salt trucks are out in full…

What's your plan for maintenance after reaching goal???
I hopefully will be so active then (can't wait! always was an active person) it will be all good. My plan is to weigh in every week and if I gain 5 lbs to immediately go back to stringent MFP principles. That will be awhile from now so am also hoping my good habits will remain.

WATER!!!!!
Not sure we've mentioned water yet. Is everyone drinking at least 8 cups? I drink closer to 100 oz a day. It's my preferred drink so I just max out my counter every day. It is SO important to flushing out the fat we are burning off. Especially if you have a high sodium day.

The Christmas Push!
OK, who's in? It's only 2 weeks and a couple of days until Christmas. I'm going to see family and friends that haven't seen me in a couple of months. I want them to NOTICE that I am making progress. I am going to adjust my levels to losing 2 lbs a week and I will try VERY hard to do my cardio every day! Always better to…

Heart Rate Monitors
So, I started using a HRM for my workouts because I think MFP is a little too kind on the amount of calories it says we burn for an activity. I thought my HRM was being too stingey (sp?) so I found a website to calculate calories burned per workout based on heart rate and your weight. My HRM is pretty darn close so I guess…

What do YOU eat for breakfast?
My regular breakfast when I am being good is 4 egg whites microwaved with 1 oz of low fat mozzarella cheese melted on top and LOT'S of pepper, 2-3 cups of coffee with non-dairy low fat creamer, 6 oz OJ and a bowl of oatmeal (1/2 cup dry) with Splenda to sweeten. This is 444 calories and is my favorite meal of the day. I…

Shopping in my own closet!!!!
OK, so now I'm getting excited. I was clearing some things out of my closet for Salvation Army. (Gotta get those tax deductions in before the end of the year!) I have tons of nice clothes that I am only 10-20 lbs away from! I hope to blow by that quickly and open up even more possibilities. Then I will keep a choice few…

Over 50 friends?
HI all. I'm over 50 and need to lose 80 lbs. I was always active in my younger life but some health problems and arthritis has sidelined me lately. I lost 65 lbs 9 years ago and felt great but have gained it back plus an extra 5. Arrrggghhhh! Would love some friends in my general age group and weight loss goals to buddy up…

Lunch anyone?
Lunch is a tough one for me. My husband works afternoons a few days a week so we get up later so breakfast is actually at lunch time and lunch is dinner. I usually just count the 5 small meals whenever they end up being. We're a bit more traditional on days he is home for dinner.

Apple Cider Vinegar
Anyone tried this? I'm going to try it for a few weeks and see if it helps with the cramps I get.
