Considering giving up on fitbit
Hi, I have a fitbit zip. It syncs with MFP, but means that MFP gives me really inflated numbers for the calories I have burned everyday. I understand that it alters its prediction of your daily burn based on your activity as you go through the day, but I'm not sure this works for my lifestyle. I am pretty sedentary apart…

How often do you have rest days?
Just that really. I have been doing the 30-day shred for the last 18 days, and in that time I have included other exercise every day (gym 3/4 times per week, Biggest Loser Wii game, lots of long walks). So definitely 10+ hours of exercise per week, the most active I have been in ages. I have been really feeling it the last…

Have I ruined my metabolism? Please help!
I posted recently as I was concerned about how much weight I could have possibly gained whilst overindulging at home for easter (for just over a week) after a few months of quite strict calorie restriction (about 900 per day, sometimes less). Well, now I have been back at uni for a week and a half, sticking to 1200 a day,…

Gaining on 1200 calories a day? Really?
So, I'm 5"4 female, nearly 21. Have lost over 60lb the past two years, first by sticking to a 1200 - 1400 calorie a day diet, but for the past few months was a lot more restrictive (900 calories a day and fasting once a week). I got down to just below 109lb, then went home for Easter for a week, ate too much and the scale…

How much weight can you gain in a week?
So, I know this is all totally my own fault. I've been living a very restricted diet at uni for months (900 - 1000 calories a day, even though i'm fairly active), and this week i've been home for easter and have been indulging quite a lot and not keeping track of calories. However, I have still been exercising and even…

Lonely and confused - sorry if this is not appropriate
Hello - I'm really sorry for this long ramble, I just feel a bit low and would appreciate any advice...I don't feel able to voice these thoughts to anybody in the real world. I'm a student. I've been overweight most of my life until I came to university two years ago. Since then I have used the opportunity of living away…

Does anyone else feel so guilty....
...at having one slip-up? Basically, a couple of my friends are visiting me at uni this week, and I knew that last night we'd be going out for a meal. So I prepared as much as I could....ate lightly throughout the day, did plenty of exercise (an hour of vigorous swimming and quite a bit of walking), checked out possible…

Could the Pill be stopping my weight loss?
Pretty much what it says in the title. I've been having trouble losing weight since I went on the pill (microgynon 30) and wondered if that was the problem? Anyone have any experience on this?

Birth Control
Sorry if this has been asked before. I'm 19, never been on any kind of birth control before, but i'm at a point where I feel I probably should be. However, I have heard so much about the side effects, including weight gain, which terrifies me! I feel i've worked so hard over the past year or two to lose weight, and I don't…

COMPLETE
Just had to post - today I finally reached 126lb (9 stone). This has been my goal weight since the beginning and it feels amazing - just over a year ago, I thought that weight loss was this magic, impossible thing that I could never achieve - but it IS possible! I'm aiming to maintain my weight over the Christmas holidays,…

The big 40
As of today, I've shed 40lb since joining MFP, and I'm so so happy. 40 seems like an impossibly huge number to have lost, and my goal is in sight....just wanted to share this excitement with someone! Thankyou MFP :flowerforyou: :drinker: :drinker: :drinker:

I just walked...
...10 miles. Woo. Go me.

Not overweight!
For the first time since I was quite a young child, I am officially in my healthy weight range! And on the exact date I set myself, as well, my BMI is exactly 25 and it's only gonna get lower! Woo! :drinker: :drinker: :drinker: :drinker:

Halfway there, but...
...can barely see a difference. I've gone from 175 to 149 since October, which is great, my measurements have gone down, but when I look at myself, I don't think I look much thinner. Only one person has actually noticed, as well. Is this normal? Do you guys see a difference when you look in the mirror? If so, how many…

Scales on carpet?
So I was looking at the instructions for my scale today and it said that they are most accurate on a hard surface. Since I've always weighed myself on carpet, I tried on a hard floor to see if it would make a difference. Turns out on the hard floor I weigh about 1-2kg less, which of course makes me feel good, but is it…

When did people start noticing?
Since October, I've gone from 175lb to 160lb, so a loss of about a stone, which I'm thrilled about. Unfortunately, I can't really see a difference when I look at myself, and nobody else has mentioned anything either (nobody knows I'm losing weight), which is a little discouraging. So how much weightloss does it take before…

Isn't it funny...
How tastes change once you start eating better? Post one thing that you miss being able to eat, and one thing that you definitely don't. I do miss: Sugary soft drinks  I don't miss: White refined carbs (pasta, rice, bread etc). I'm craving wholegrains!

For the womenfolk, I guess...
I've been using MFP since October, and haven't had a period since then. Could this be anything to do with dieting? I don't think I've been starving myself...sticking to 1200 net cals a day for most of that time, recently raised to 1400. But this is quite a drop from what I used to eat a day, (roughly 2500 - 3000kcals) so…

Woo!
So I think (I hope) I have finally broken this plateau, I've dropped two pounds in the past three days. Whether it's because I upped my calories from 1200 to 1400, or because I have been trying to do the reverse diet thing and eating most of my calories earlier in the day, I don't know, but I'm so happy, as it means I'm…

Should I up my calories?
So I've been sticking to a net calorie intake of 1200 a day, as reccomended by MFP for me to lose 1.8lb per week...however, after dropping a few pounds, my weight loss seems to have ground to a halt. Is this just a plateau that I need to break, or is this because 1200 is too low? I've heard a lot of people on here say that…

Starvation Mode
Can your body slow down its metabolism and go into starvation mode even when you don't feel hungry?
