Hello friends - thank you for the support. I appreciate it.
I've been busy straightening out things today. I few things are now checked off my list and the social worker has promised to look at another medical claim issue next time I visit (it does involve billing from their provider for oxygen and IV therapies so I don't feel too bad about asking her). I've also gotten some bills paid, check books balanced, the car filled with gas, and picked up some things on sale at Walgreens.
I have a few more things to do and then I'm going to Whole Foods a bit later to watch a movie. Should be interesting---if not I'll come back home. There's also a conference call on nutrition I'd like to listen to this evening.........if I miss it I believe there's a playback option.
Tomorrow I need to get some fresh veggies at Trader Joe's (I'd prefer to buy there as everything I want is cheaper there than at Whole Foods) and I need to stop by the library.
Anyone going to try to watch the partial eclipse? I think I'll just watch on a web site. That will be good enough.
The rain is over, sun is out and temperatures are rising. I hope to find a craft sale or something this weekend but so far, I've not found anything.
The hospice nurse has recommended I stop trying to call my dad and just wait until he asks a staff member to call me. I am sure everyone there is totally 100% sick of me calling to check on him. The hospice aide worker does not make phone calls to let you know what's going on. The nurse is going two times a week and she does call me. So I'll just try not to live on pins and needles I guess wondering when the phone will ring and who it will be.

I hope things are going better today Phoebe. You have a lot to handle right now. Praying that the situation not just stabilizes but gets better.

In keeping with my happiness commandment, "Don't let the perfect be the enemy of the best", I'm going to make a quick post rather than getting upset that I don't have time to respond individually.
Today was Jake's first appointment with our new GP doctor.....the last one moved on to working with geriatric patients in convalescent hospitals. The new doctor is female, very young, knows a lot about all the things we asked about, and is darling. I'll have my appointment with her in December
I got my new glasses today and they are wonderful.
Today was my second week teaching the intermediate dance class. It went well and it was a challenging way to stretch myself as a dancer and a teacher but I'm really looking forward to the beginner class tomorrow.

I made your squash soup yester day but it made my blood sugar gone up some. Too much carbs in the apple and squash but still not to bad.
Blood sugar reading for the week of 10/24/14 my goal is to have all of my days around 100 average by the first of the year when I am due for another lab work.

Lin - I think not calling everyday to see how your Dad is doing is good advice. It will lift some of the stress that you are going through. Have a good day finding some crafts shows. You are keeping busy and that is key for you right now. We are here for you
Barbie - A challenging class is good but tiring when you are not used to it. I think you will be glad to get back to the beginner class. Its refreshing that you like your new doctor there are so many out there that people don't like. Have a wonderful day!
Buzz - You must be busy getting ready for Mike's trip. It sounds wonderful and I think he will be amazed at the reception. Anxious to hear all about it.
Phyllis - I don't know if I mentioned it but I love the quilt you did. I have to agree with Lin,
there are some amazing and talented women in this group.
Well today will be a quiet day for me, Dave has caught a cold and was up most of the night coughing last night and I didn't get much sleep.
He still has to put the tarps on the boat and put it to bed for the season and not feeling great to do it. I think I will sleep in the spare room tonight to get some sleep.

It's a foggy day here but is suppose to burn off later and temps expected in the 70's! Can't believe it. Meanwhile, I'm updating my laptops and sorting through all the mail I got yesterday. I did go to the movie----GMO--OMG. Then when I got home I listened to the conference call. I did find a few possibilities for Saturday---a church bazaar, a quilt show and a llama show. Don't know which I might choose. We'll wait and see. Meanwhile today it's off to Trader Joe's and the library and then home to sort process the mail that arrived yesterday. Checks to write again. I'd rather do those a few at a time and not let them pile up.
Marie - your numbers look pretty good to me. I'm sure they will continue to be great as you are diligent every day. Excellent.
Shirley - I am sorry DH is not feeling well and I *really* hope you don't come down with it as well.....hope you get the good crazy weather next week. We'll be getting cold weather next week. What a roller coaster it's been.

Linda I think I will fly up there and go with you. to all of the craft, quilts show. Alice and I used to hit them pretty often but not any more and I miss them.
I am waiting on Jerry to eat Breakfast so we can o grocer shopping

Happy Friday!!
Donna called this morning begging me to come and talk to her. She is getting worse everyday with her complaints but I will go to see if I can calm her down. Daisy and Babe had a bad night because Daisy had diarrhea from her medicine and Babe stayed outside with her so neither slept. I slept good again so that one night must have been a fluke. I gained back the three pounds I lost but not sure why, my weight drives me crazy but I will keep trying. Sometimes I think our bodies know what is the best weight for us and once we get there it stops losing. Is that possible???
I better get moving if I am going to go see Donna.

Lin - what a gorgeous picture. Beautiful. It may take a bit for you not to call your Dad every day. I still want to phone my Mom every day and she is gone. LOL
Sandy - poor Babe and Daisy. Darn weight too. I do that too. Probably retaining water or something like that. Frustrating tho for sure.
Marie - you are doing terrific.
Shirley - hope you don't get Dave's cold. I had one for a few days and it was nasty. Glad it is mostly over.

Lin asked if we got our new iphone 6's. We did, last night. They've been sold out everywhere but we checked the Apple store and lucked out. We checked online at 5 pm and they 2. We put a hold on and we had to pick them up between 6 and 7 pm. We gobbled a quick supper and headed down. I spent a good part of the day getting them set up to out liking. I had to restore mine from the backup and Ed didn't have a smart phone before. It took quite a bit of fooling around to get his done the way he wanted it. As I am the computer guru in the family. It all feel on me. So far so good tho.
On another note, I said to Ed it feels like I'm missing something because I don't have chores or shopping or visiting for Mom to do every day. There seems to be a hole in my life that I am having to fill in. He says to look upon it as retiring and I guess he is right. But I enjoyed retirement from my full time job, this one is bitter sweet.

Lin, that really is a beautiful photo. I'm a bit different in my opinion about calling your dad. If you Want to call, let no one stop you. He is not suffering, not in pain. So what is best for you? They should be as kind to the family as they are to the patients. Theres my two cents, maybe more!
Jeri, ham last night 4 dinner, ham sandwich was lunch and ham sandwiches for dinner! We still have ham. I think it is growing. It was only 3 lbs. That was the smallest I could find.
Shirley sorry your Dave is sick, I know that cough too well. Jim gets it every year. It sometimes make him throw up!
very sad about the violence in Canada, and Washington state.
Marie, with your low readings, you should be okay with a soup that has more carbs especially if it is high in fiber. Did you like it? I bought one crab cake and one stuffed scallop for me. Jim can have shrimp. I know mine are high calorie, but I dont eat them often. That will be dinner Saturday or Sunday.
Sandy, sorry Daisy has such a sensitive tummy. Poor Babe. Hope you have a good weekend.
went to doctor today expecting to get injections for both knees. Also, treatment number two on my lower back. They had everything wrong. I got one injection in one knee. I told them I was very disappointed. They were so sad, ha, not even a little bit. Plus, they are heavily booked and wont schedule a back treatment until December. I may try to get these things moved to a different place.
It means ill be returning to work with back and leg pain, made worse by the driving.
We will have a warmup here too. 80's!

Jerry memory is really getting bad. I am about ready to go with him on all of is little trips around town.We were going to stop at the post office yesterday and he just drove right pass it.I ask him where was he going and he did not know So I got him turn around and he mail his letters and got him on our way to the health store The life of our old age. Fun times.

We had a great time dancing this morning---we danced a lot of easy dances so everyone would be familiar with them and next week we'll dance them to Halloween music.
I found a new app for my phone that will allow me to enter my weight from all the times I've weighed myself since I started MFP and then make a graph for me Barbie

Chili is all done! Looks and tastes delicious. No meat in it. Just plain kidney beans and lots of other yummy things like onions, peppers, garlic, cilantro, tomatoes and spices! It'll send a pic of the wig I am going. To wear with my glitzy gown costume

Happy Saturday!! We are also getting wonderful weather this weekend. It will be in the high 60's and Monday in the 70's. I love Indian Summer as we called it when I was young. Babe and Daisy are both on the mend, Babe will go to Mass with me today. Tomorrow I leave to go to Michigan to the Four Winds Casino and won't be back until Tuesday. Not sure if I will be checking in but if not everyone stay healthy and have no crisis. Donna summoned me yesterday and when I got there she was downstairs for the October Birthdays celebration. I crashed the party and listened to the singer/dancer entertain the elders. All but a few seemed to be in wheelchairs but were moving and grooving in their chairs. When I said hello to Donna she was going to leave but I insisted she stay and enjoy the show and get her cake and lemonade. We went back to her room where she complained about everything but considering she is 98 and in a nursing home, I don't blame her. She just wants visitors everyday and that is not possible which she doesn't seem to understand. I am still her "angel" though even if she gets upset with me.
Marie, I have some Halloween decorations up as well but I will get no children. What a good hubby Jerry is for mopping your floors. My ex SIL grandson who is 7 was just diagnosed with children's diabetes, so their lives are going to change. Enjoy your time with Alice and have a good weekend.
Phyllis, I just finished the chili I made last night and slept good, so it wasn't the chili. Your wig is great, but I prefer you in shorter hair. How about a picture with the glitzy gown, it will make a difference.

Barbie, for some reason I am having a hard time grabbing the code for your new smilies. My fit bit has a graph with my weight and I am not happy with it right now. It is my own fault so I have to accept my own consequences. I wish I had your energy but maybe when I start sitting for Robby I will be more active.
Phoebe, I can just imagine how sad your doctor's office was in messing up your treatments. Doesn't even make sense to give just one injection in one knee and not the other. How long could it have taken to do both??? Maybe a new office is a good idea. How is Jim feeling???
Jeri, I have the IPhone 6 as well and love it. I had a 4 so you can imagine how thrilled I am with the bigger phone. I love the thumbprint instead of entering a code, it is so much easier. I changed carriers so they did all the transferring from my old phone. I also didn't have to pay for phone because I am basically leasing them and in two years will be able to get a new phone with no charge. Since I now have Bryanna on my plan I went with Sprint since it had unlimited data and with her it is necessary.
Buzz, I hope Mike got off okay with no situations. Will his chaperon stay in the same hotel room as Mike to keep an eye on him?? Mike will be honored in such a special way, I think it is wonderful. Try and relax and enjoy your time alone, I am sure he will be fine.

Here is with the red sparkly gown. LOL My husband took the pic and this was the best he could do. Had a fun party but was glad to take the wig off! Those things are HOT.
