Ooh! Thick fog this morning so my plans for an early walk went out the window. I phoned Sheila to find out how her early phone call from her consultant went but frustratingly, still no decisions because after a six month wait, they are now looking back at her medical records to find out more about a stroke she had years ago! I’ve said I will stop in tomorrow after a walk because I need to keep going with garden jobs today. The sun is trying to burn through and I can now see the villages about a half mile away. The slope out from my garage, which is on common land next to the access track, had become muddy after all the previous rain so I’ve cleared it with a shovel, broom and bucket then swept leaves from the back drain gully behind my cottage before making coffee. Both pooches are snoozing as is Brady, up on my bed after a busy night shift… one dead rat outside his cat flap!

Lin, I was lucky my dad carried out all the DIY jobs and managed the garden. Being the only daughter, I spent a lot of time in the kitchen helping out so although it wasn’t a family to show affection, I did learn the skills to be independent! Oh, and I mustn’t forget, in Canada my partner John taught me how to chop and split logs safely!

Must get on. Happy Tuesday everyone.

Happy Tuesday!😀 Got here at 7:45am so I could stay with Charlie while Rob took Max to school since Charlie is sick. Rob is working in his office from home so I am staying with Charlie so he can concentrate. I will pick up Max after school and when Lisa gets home I will leave. They have volleyball tomorrow night and I told Rob I would sit Friday if he wanted to go to office downtown. We will see.
I have an appointment with finance man tomorrow afternoon and Cheryl asked me to let her dog out since she will be gone all day. The appointment is near her house so that works. She asked the same for Thursday and I can stop before or after my meeting. Also going to try and make appointment for flu and Covid vaccine. Maybe Friday after sitting in case of any side effects.
    That’s my week.
    Have a great day.

Good afternoon. I worked on my cards to donate and finished them! Now to get the paperwork completed and the boxing accomplished!

I had a long conversation with my health insurance agent and have decided to make a change so I am heading for his office first thing tomorrow morning. Than will drop off a few things at The charity shop. Maybe I will try to make it to the pharmacy and see what shots they have available.

I fought the webs on the back of my house this afternoon and several of them won. They are sticking tight to my house. Wow! I have never had such strong webs on my home. Oh and we did have frost overnight. My neighbor covered his plants but did not uncover them all day long! Poor things.

I will make this short as my Internet connection is weak. Hope I will be able to post this.

Be safe everyone. Oh, and my friend’s husband does have Covid and is taking Paxlovid. Lots of respiratory illness. So really, stay safe.

:) Today is Jake's birthday. We ate what he wanted, watched the TV he wanted to watch and had visit from good friends. Life doesn't get any better than this.

Tired! Had a long appointment with my health insurance agent and I made major changes to my coverage. I signed a lot of papers as well Sandy. 👍🏻👍🏻

I waited my turn at the pharmacy and got both the flu shot and RSV vaccine.

Tired out now. I hope everyone had a good day.

    Hugs.

Autumn has arrived so it’s back to porridge for my breakfast. I’ve an early hair appointment but first need to walk George and Betty. Dropped in to see Sheila yesterday and have offered to buy her Feverfew at the health shop that helps her migraines. I’ll also buy groceries while I’m out. It’s looking miserable but pooches need their stroll.

    Happy Thursday.

Happy Thursday! :) I have been chasing all day and it is almost dinner time. I had to go back to finance guy with paper work, then to my meeting and then I went to get my flu and covid vaccines before coming home and checking tons of emails. Tomorrow I am staying home and doing nothing but laundry.
    Have a good evening.

Good evening. A wet day here and I did get to the post office but have been just working on looking up things and also reading a book most of the day. Both arms are sore and swollen from my recent shots and some lymph nodes in my neck are swollen, my neck isn’t turning well at all.

Tomorrow will be a better day.

    Be safe everyone.

Happy Friday! :) Rainy day here and was hoping to stay in but I am going to Rob's so he can pick up Max from school since Charlie is still coughing and did not go to school. When I leave there I am going to let Cheryl's dog out. I am also doing laundry so not the lazy day I thought I would have today.
I got my flu and covid vaccines and feel fine, the girl who gave me the shots was excellent and I didn't feel either one. I will think about the pneumonia and shingles vaccine since both are covered by Medicare now. I did have a pneumococcal conjugate PCV 13 shot in 2016 so I have to see if that is good enough.

It's tough trying to stay healthy and alive at my age but I am determined. lol

    Have a good day.

It was another mild but drizzling start but I decided to drive to the moors and walk on the lower level so we were out of the wind, slightly! George was in one of his stubborn I’ll go where I want moods so I had to keep an eye on him but then we saw Ian with beautiful giant, fluffy Nuke who he adores and he decided to behave! After our walk I drove into town for dog food and treats but then the heavy rain arrived so once home I stayed in. I’ve begun to read the first novel in Maddie’s trilogy (George’s groomer’s mum) and am enjoying it. An interesting story based in Cornwall. This evening we had a lovely pink sky but I noticed the wind direction has turned to northerly and the temperature has fallen. I have been lighting the log burner in the past couple of evenings so all is cosy.
Lots of World Cup rugby to watch at the weekend so I won’t be going far!

A pretty tea set Lin. In love that green.

    Take care.

What a gorgeous start to the day. We walked in a cool breeze with rainbows regularly appearing over the hills but we managed to avoid any showers. On the way round one of my longer routes we met a few regular dog walkers and stopped to chat and I was pleased to see Brian with Duke away in the distance, just to wave and know he’s ok. It must be a month since I last talked to him and he wasn’t feeling very well at that time.
Coffee is finished so my plan is to finally trim a hedge that runs across the garden. It’s too thick which means I step off the stones in the path to get past and yesterday slipped on muddy ground. Friday the 13th but I didn’t fall, just took it as a warning!

Lin, Sheila told me her booster affected her neck and throat badly soon after she received it but it was getting a lot better after 24 hours so I hope it’s the same for you.

Sandy, you are so active, I’m sure that is the best way to remain healthy. I follow behind in your shadow! 👀

A few more clouds about so I think I will be dodging showers but had better get started.

    Happy Saturday everyone.

Happy Saturday! :) More rain for the weekend. Can't wait to see the sun again. Nothing much going on, washing my bedding, family zoom call and then Church later this afternoon. I am waiting for a delivery from Costco, I ordered with my son's help a new laptop. My IPad is so old and I would like to do on a laptop what I can on my desktop, especially all my games. lol I miss my computer when I am not home so hoping a laptop will keep me happy when I am sitting or out of town.

Quiet here lately, I hope that means everyone is doing something fun and keeping busy.
    Enjoy your day.

Hello! I can move my neck again. I am so happy. 👍🏻😄👍🏻

I was quite busy today. Laundry of course, made cornbread with no recipe (fun), made bean burgers, attended two online presentations—one on bulk card-making, the other on Copic coloring. Then a friend called and we spoke for a long time with actually 3 phone calls with interruptions but overall, it was a long conversation. She thinks I made a big mistake in changing insurance. I understand her points but she seems to think her supplement plan won’t ever change. They can price people out of certain plan designs and no one knows which hospitals and specialists will continue to be located in our area. There are many places in our state where a long drive is needed to get a specialist. Interesting to try to guess the future! She is agonizing over where to invest her $$ to get the best return now. Just got to make a choice and move on I think.

Wet weather but my neighborhood is still having movie night. Wimpy me is staying indoors where is it warm and dry. They just sent a message saying movie night is still on no matter what the weather.

I have been hunting for online information on providers for my new insurance plan (effective 1/1/2024). Dead end, a current insurance card is needed to enter the directory. Darn!

Sandy, did you get your laptop? Exciting! Wahoo! Is Charlie feeling better?

Jackie, how nice to have some good weather. You very much deserve it. Thanks for letting me know about Sheila’s side effect(s). Made me feel like I wasn’t the only person with these oddball pains.

Well, moving on now. I am watching a documentary on the Tylenol poisonings. Interesting. Spooky but interesting.

I hope everyone is having a good weekend.

:) I read or hear something almost every day that matches staying active with staying healthy and fit. I am fortunate that my schedule and my neighbourhood allow me to be active every day.

:) Our yard work is nearly finished for the season. The only thing left is the few sunflowers that still have seeds. I won't cut them down until the birds have finished eating all the seeds.

:) A few weeks ago I happened upon "Lost Horizon" (the movie) on Tubi. I've seen it before but enjoyed it again. I enjoyed it so much that I checked the book out of the library and can't believe how much I'm enjoying it. The flowery complex language is not my usual style and yet I have found it delightful.

:) We went to Costco today instead of trying to watch the eclipse. Two friends sent me photos which was as good as watching.

Lin did your friend happen to manage plan F because that is the only plan that pays all that Medicare doesn’t cover with no deductibles. It is no longer available which is why I won’t change . Sounds like your friend had the same.
