Happy Sunday! :) And I am indeed very happy!! The handyman came and he fixed my fireplace for a total of $60. There was a loose wire and he took the switch home and fixed it. He can't guarantee it will continue to work as the fireplace is very old but he did say he could probably find a switch if necessary. And to think the fireplace people wanted $730 to replace the parts instead of just trying to fix them. I now have a working gas fireplace and I am very grateful.

Anne, you reminded me of my mom when she made bread. She would put a towel over the dough while it was rising and once in the oven the smell was heavenly. I enjoyed my bread maker and the smell of the bread even from that was great. I don't eat a lot of bread because of carbs but I do love homemade bread.

Jackie, you are so right, they are not always so angelic more devilish. Poor George, he should have snapped at that lady for making him jump and choke himself. I hope he is okay now that he is home.

Patsy, sorry you are feeling under the weather with your flu shot. I thought about getting one but decided if I do it will have to be after my little trip on Monday. I probably will not though as I still have a memory of how sick I got from one a couple of years ago.

Buzz, Charlie is very squeezable especially her little thighs. Yes, my opinion of my landlord has changed since he was so agreeable Friday. I must have been cranky.

Lin, I have to agree with Jackie, there must be something that is making that girl so rowdy. She might be bi polar or some other mental thing. It would scare me also and I think because of how kind you are, it would be good to pass on the abuse.

Almost time for my video call with my kids. Washing clothes and then packing.
    Have a great day.

Anne, you may know we have a series running called The Great British Bake Off where people compete on a weekly challenge and are judged at the end of each session of baking. Last Tuesday one of their tasks was to make Danish bread and one girl made a rye loaf that had my taste buds going and my head thinking I used to make my own, what happened? Although the contestants didn't use bread makers they did have food mixers, something I don't possess but may well try in the week to see if I can still make a decent loaf. Funny how we wake up with a mission in mind that we have to carry out and sounds like yours was very successful. Warm bread for the workers perhaps?

Brady just tried to tear the wallpaper next to my desk where I'm on the laptop then when I told him off he decided to go out but I could hear the catflap rattling and in the end had to investigate. It seems yet again he's brought in nasty old rusty nails and unrecognisable bits of metal on his magnet collar and jammed the door. Goodness knows where he finds it all because Hebe never seems to have the same problem. Better go and feed him before more wallpaper gets removed!!

Good morning all! Feeling good now...side effects are gone! I laughingly told John that these side effects had better be gone or I was going to yell at our pharmacist. Do another needle jab and suck out all of the flu vaccine. I hate it. Reason has returned and we are fine now.

Tomorrow is Katie’s planned grooming day. She gets a full grooming session once a month and she gets brushed whenever I can catch her when she sees the brush. That also requires hours of vacuuming and dusting. It is good for all of us. Even John gets into the act. He is pretty good with the vacuum. I still need to wash the lace curtains in the living room. Ugh! Dusty and in bad need of TLC.

I would love to have a cleaning person come regularly but John has such strong indepepentant feelings, I understand it is stressful for him. He would rather help me more than have a cleaner help currently. It must have something to do with wanting to feel competent.

Our son Damon was the little mad scientist as a kid. He was always the intellectual but with a huge need for physical activity. I had him enrolled in every sport available, football, wrestling, swimming, tennis and bowling. It saved our life. He was so envolved he had little time for mischief.

Jackie: strange folks showing up in your area these days. So glad you are being very careful and taking precautions. Katie is very shy around strangers. She doesn’t like being petted by people she doesn’t know. She will not take treats offered by strangers. We didn’t teach her this, she just decided this on her own. George knew this was not a good thing, this woman with the crisps.

Anne: good to keep your skills up. Bread making in any form is magic to me.

Lin: I hope you can find a group of like minded people to form a congenial worship association. You are such a caring person. I don’t like that this little brat is allowed to behave like that. Parents need to address this before things get even worse.

Lovely sunny day. Glorious warm day. Best wishes for great day, all of you in Sneakerville.

Totally pleased with the Anne made bread JACKIE! I hadn't had a go from start to finish for years and it was immensely satisfying watching it rise under a tea towel. DO have a go. I'm going to get adventurous and try all sorts of different breads shown in my old Joy of Cooking book. It would be wonderful to compare notes. When I lived in Derbyshire in my youth my best friend there, Sylvia and I would bake every Friday recipes from the same cookery book and then sample each other's efforts. It was great fun and one day I had a bunch of Mikes little friends in playing while I kneaded bread. Of course they all had to have a go with a small piece of dough and I ended up baking each child's grubby offering. When baked and by now all golden brown, each kid got to take their creation home with a note from me "don't eat, it was rather grey when it went into the oven". Every parent told me later they had eaten their child's bun. Such is parental love. Me too, by the way.

Wondering if I can pass on the bread machine to grandson Derek for Christmas. Can't see him using it, but his girlfriend might!

Mark didn't turn up to prop up the fence. Can't say I blame him, it was freezing here and when Mike came in from walking little Bean he wished he'd brought his gloves.

Do you gals have "friends" from other groups? Another group caught my eye and I couldn't resist putting in my penny worth. Mainly because they were SO serious! I've now had a friend request from a retired army fitness guy. Not sure if I should accept. He's aware how ancient I am but from my point of view I'm not into the extreme forms of fitness that this group was talking about. "Living longer by regular walking" was the theme, and I just mentioned I was still around maybe because of it. Sort of tongue in cheek. Such an intense group and rather intellectual, but this chap wasn't, and of course I'm not. So what to do. You guys are the only ones I've ever been friends with. Advice as always
    welcome.
    Anne.

Just off to bed but wanted to wish Sandy bon voyage and to have fun!

Anne, I'll dig out my cookery books tomorrow to see what takes my fancy and let you know as would love to compare my attempts with your successes. Mine might just be grey balls of dough to start with too!!
When it comes to friend requests, I get the occasional advance when I venture away from the Sneakers but first check them out by clicking on their profiles. Recently I noticed at least 2 had well over 100 friends so I'm guessing either some sort of competition going on or they needed to boost self esteem. Those I ignored!! You can always block or delete any that become a nuisance so maybe give Mr Army Fitness a chance, read his profile first if he has one, he might be interesting to occasionally chat to.

The wind has picked up outside so George's late night garden visit was extremely short and sweet. I expect our warm weather is over...

    Nite nite

Good evening, church, lunch, finger knitting, and then Thanksgiving cards. Have made a bit more progress.

Safe travels Sandy with the fixed fireplace. Wahoo!

Anne, I belong to several other groups and once upon a time, I contributed in all the discussions. These days, this is pretty much my only group but I have other friends on MFP and I message with a cousin le of them from time to time. I have deleted all new friend requests for the last year or so unless it is someone I already know who is coming back. On a different topic, I wouldn’t give up the bread machine so quickly, you may not wish to stir up bread from scratch all the time. It is a handy thing to have.

Patsy, I am glad you are starting to feel better. Oh my goodness, shots, I think they all make me feel nasty for a bit. Now, on to making Katie look spectacular once again. A very big job for everyone.

Everyone take care, flu has hit my church. Ack!

    Hugs.

Hi, was hoping to come earlier today, but time certainly flew by today! There was a double movie this afternoon and I was one of the few who realized the second part would be shown after the end of the first. It was called Billionaire Boys' Club, wealthy young men getting involved in a Ponzi scheme with a chilling ending; based on a true story! What a study in behavior!!! When I returned a call from dear Sister ringing and sure enough I couldn't hang up for over 1 1/2 hours! They finally had a successful housel sale of their mortgaged home so at last there is a feeling of relief. After 65 years of marriage, my DS admitted to being tired of cooking ! Their new apartment in a senior community includes meals, but is not a Continuing Care Community. I was concerned, but it seems places like mine don't exist on Colorado!
JACKIE, I'm so sorry about your contractors' date confusion! When it's finally finished, you and your 4 legged friends will be so happy enjoying the area finally finished! You are so astute regarding "friending" in other groups! I just ignore anyone outside our Golden Sneakers!...And I'm so embarrassed about our foreign policy. I keep asking people how this differs from the rise of Hitler!
PATSY, happy your "symptoms" have disappeared! I take my shot Monday morning!
LIN, beware sneezy coughers! Stay well, dear friend
ANNE, wow! Nothing sounds or smells as delicious as home made breads! My paternal grand mother used to make a dozen braided "challahs" every Friday so she could share the breads with all her daughters-in-law! They make the best French toast!
SANDY, all's well that ends well, and now enjoy your little trip!

I may make bedtime before midnight!!

Hello, it is almost afternoon already! I got home just a little while ago. I went downtown to the lab for a blood draw and then decided to make a last shopping trip to the papercrafter supply store that is closing this weekend. Today every is 70% off so I did wander around a lot! Then off to the library and home. I am going to work on my cards this afternoon. Skipping Tai Chi this afternoon and will tackle the rest of my little errands tomorrow.

Buzz, what a great conversation with your sister. It is nice to have a long conversation from time to time. Glad your sister was able to sell the home. I don’t know, but there are not many CCCs around here either. The one(s) I have heard a little bit about are so incredibly expensive that I didn’t store any information about them in my little grey cells. Haaaaa. Yes, I am reading a Poirot book right now.

Sandy, hope you are having a great day.

Jackie and Anne, we will be looking for your bake off/cook off. May you have loads of fun.

    Hugs all.

Hello sneakers, I am looking at a very foggy damp day. A sweater kind of day but it demands a full CD player of warm soothing jazz. I guess I am ready for the fall weather and approaching darker days. My happy light is on and I am armed with a new bottle of vitamin D. Bring it on!

Glad I had the flu shot and after effects are gone. I think it is more of a security blanket than anything. Positive thinking. Since I had the shot, I am like wonder woman going around with my invisible force shield against the evil flu bugs.

Yesterday’s football game with the Bengals and Chiefs was just too painfully one sided. We ended up ditching the game when the chiefs were 4 touchdowns ahead at the 4th quarter. Rather disappointing because John loves a close game with lots of scoring on both sides. Katie and I are there for the popcorn.

This is the only group I regularly read and post on, my writers group is a different thing altogether. There is some friendly chat but it is mainly business. I really never get bored with this group now that we are all good friends. We each have our issues, family, interests and hot buttons. I love that. I had a scary event last year with a guy that followed me on MFP and somehow even got my personal email address and phone number. After a bit of reporting and warning, he is gone and I will always be careful about my internet communications now. Be careful, Anne! That was just an isolated occurrence, however.

A couple of quick errands and the laundry is already going “full tilt boogie” as our son used to say.

The day started promising with sunshine and a fairly warm wind, but we've just been to the mailbox and it's decidedly cooler this afternoon. I had a busy, busy morning. Walked for 40 minutes and then got down to some serious housework. That plus two more walks with the Bean finished the morning. Mark popped by a few minutes ago with an iron post and he's propped the leaning fence back in line temporarily. I can't see it because it's blocked by a hydrangea, but looks neat and strong on close inspection.

After all that exercise I'm now relaxing with a book and glad I'm inside looking out at a day going rapidly downhill for gloom! The Bean is snoozing and snuggled against me on the sofa.

Remember the church chrysanthemums I removed from the church trash can? Well they finally budded, and stopped at that point because of the cold nights. I've Just cut them and put them in a jug and maybe, just maybe they'll open up and flower in the warmth.

Tomorrow will be laundry day. Isn't it funny not having SANDY on page - late morning. Happy Poirot reading LIN. Hiya BUZZ and JACKIE.

Bye from a rather sleepy Anne and Jill.

A late visit for me after a busy day. A chilly wind blew us across the moors this morning but that's the sort of weather George loves and I'm sure reminds his inner soul of a previous life in the Himalayas! He danced, ran in circles and at one spot where we crossed paths with a lady walking her old black Lab, did zoomies growling all the way, not that the Labrador cared!

I've tidied, clipped brambles and continued to trim a hedge so the hens can get more late sunshine now that the days are drawing in. Once again, having had a text to tell me my Amazon delivery would arrive between 5 and 6pm I sat with a cup of tea in the garden and played with George and waited... and waited! Then received another message to tell me it had been delivered, even had a photo of where it had been left on a dirty old chair against a rough looking wall. Not mine!! I phoned the courier and was put on hold for 20 minutes before being able to explain the situation and was told the driver would get a message to go back, collect it and bring on to me. Let's just say 3 hours on I'm glad I didn't hold my breath! "Manana"!!

I spent time phoning to arrange my referral appointment with an orthopaedic surgeon to discuss my hips so that's booked for the end of next month then called a business that cleans windows and fascias and clears out guttering because I have to be sensible and not go climbing ladders, well not too high anyway! All these jobs I'm now paying for I used to do myself because I didn't have the patience to wait for a tradesman to turn up in his own time and am remembering how often I was let down before I took them on myself. Oh well, no point risking life and limb and I refuse to let them push my blood pressure up so at the moment here I am again... "manana, manana"!

Oh dear, a radio commercial has door bells ringing that has set George off. Best go and calm him.

I had almost forgotten, until I read LIN's post, that I had my flu shot following an early morning Director's Meeting this morning. That came after my compression boots for 1 1/2 hours, which brought a great deal of fluid out of my legs so they looked normal today! After an early lunch, I emailed Dell about why my battery suddenly stopped charging despite being plugged in. The nicest tech in India took wonderful care of my computer and tested it inside out, and finally said he would send someone here with a new battery, since mine is defective. This is one area I have never regretted getting the premier warranty, which has more than paid off! I have no kids or grandkids nearby to help with anything.
I don't recall leaving this earlier, but I just returned and found it undisturbed! I think of all the posts I've lost!
JACKIE, you have had such poor luck with Amazon. I do almost all my shopping with them, though one has to be careful to check items many different ways before purchasing! Priced do vary , sometimes by many dollars!
ANNE and JILL, I'm about to join you in dreamland!
PATSY, that experience with being traced must have been scary! Thank goodness he's gone!
SANDY, we've turned the page and I cannot go back , as I'm afraid I'll lose the post! But I do think of you, dear friend!
Windows has an update and wants to get it done NOW...tonight? I just want to sleep!

Hello everyone. I'm getting back to my old self now the weather is cooler. I gained 3 lbs over the hot humid summer and it's now gone. Best of all though I'm back to walking and did 40 minutes on my own, briskly, and then 20 minutes at a much slower pace with the Bean who likes to sniff every leaf she passes and believe me, this is one leafy town! It's raining right now but when it stops we will sniff our way to the mailboxes.

I take it the photos are of your hotel SANDY? Gosh, I can't even remember when I was last in a hotel! It was years ago, so you are quite entitled to brag. I think mine was just outside Manchester airport because I had to catch an early flight home and couldn't have made the plane if I'd travelled across the country on the same day. It was posh as well with a gorgeous bathroom, white towels and bathrobes and super scented soaps and shampoos, hence me remembering! Glad you are enjoying it and your friends etc. Have more fun!

I've been so lucky with delivery over here JACKIE up to now. My last M&S order from England - Derby via Cincinatti - took only 36 hours! Unbelievable! Ordered Sunday late afternoon and here on Tuesday early morning. I must have got the Sunday evening flight from the East Midlands airport. I think I'll steer clear of Amazon. I'm just reading the second book in the Trudy and Clement series. It's rather nice going back to the 50/60 years.

PATSY, that was a horrid experience you had! "My" MFP friend seems very dedicated to fitness. Apparently he had a heart operation and had to change his ways, smoking etc.

BUZZ, lovely that you found a really good technician that sorted you out. AND lovely to read your legs are a little better.

Can't find LIN to comment. Tomorrow. Hope you are having a fun day as well Lin.

Hey, there's a watery sun shining through, where's Jilly and her leash while the goings good,
    Annie.

Gosh, the wind is making things feel a lot cooler which is a shock to the system I must say. Early morning grocery shopping for me then a walk on the moor all wrapped up! Robbie the smithy phoned on my mobile as I drove home and we agreed he could visit to remove the old stove which with a bit of huffing, puffing, hammering and grinding got the thing out. Then the builder dropped by this afternoon to take a look at the hearth now it's empty and will come up with a plan for the back wall that is crumbling a bit. So all in all a constructive day apart from my Amazon delivery because by 4pm I hadn't heard from the courier so phoned their helpline again to complain since I had been told the depot would phone me to at least let me know if their driver had retrieved my package. This time I felt like I was the one doing something wrong and was given no update (security don't you know!!) but told they would deal direct with Amazon since they are their customer... give it a couple of days!! Don't know about in North America but our UK Amazon has no way for customers getting to a complaints section on their website as it seems no one ever has a problem to report!!

Anne, it seems talking to friends that the courier service Amazon uses has a terrible reputation for non-delivery. All the other companies that have vans flying round our country lanes do a great job and never have a problem finding me so I think it stems from Amazon expecting the drivers to deliver too many packages in a short period so nothing gets checked, just dropped off anywhere! M&S wouldn't tolerate that sort of service for 5 minutes as they have a reputation to protect. I'm relieved you are enjoying Faith Martin's series as it's always a concern recommending books. :* Last night I began reading through cookery books to see what I could "throw together" and got my nose into a fruit and veggie one, no baking at all, but will try harder this evening!

Sandy, that's a lovely size for a hotel room as most are quite pokey, well any I've stayed in!! Sounds like you're having a great time with your friends which is what you deserve.

Buzz, you do get a good service from Dell especially if they will deliver replacements to you. What a Godsend! Compression boots doing what they're supposed to as well and I'm thinking having gained 3 lbs over a short period, probably due to a bowl of shop bought chicken soup that in retrospect tasted far too salty, my body must be full of unwanted fluids! I'm drinking plenty of water and tea to wash it all away.

Patsy, are you sitting under your happy light humming along with the jazz? Sounds a perfect way to spend an afternoon!

Lin, too busy for such inactivity I'm sure. :)

A text message just arrived from the window cleaner to say he will be with me 0830 tomorrow, same time as the builders. That'll be a lot of cups of tea to keep them all sweet!

Time to prepare a meal..... fish or quiche, I can't quite decide.

Hello dear sneakers! We are seeing some sun as well. Partly cloudy but that big yellow ball peeps in between the clouds from time to time.

I have a load of laundry going. Throw rugs and sweet Katie’s bed blanket. Then I must tend to a few things in the dungeon. Our election here is very odd. We have several people running for mayor and the difference in political leanings is startling. The composition of this cute little fishing village is changing dramatically. Growth is going to happen but we now have 6 pot shops in a town of about 11,000 People. Seems a bit crazy to me. We live out in the country but our address is in town and our P.O. Box is in town. Managing growth is a tricky business. I have no clue about the way to achieve a good mix of green space, harmonious living and business areas. I feel we need to really be aware or things can go bad very quickly.

Sandy: your suite looks very stylish and comfy. It is lovely to have a quiet place to rest and relax after a long time in the noisy casinos. Sounds like this is a great trip!

Anne: happy your new friend is an interesting person to exchange views and news with. Good for you on all the walking. My knee is so cranky, I can’t do extended walking. I exercise and ride my evil recumbent bike to keep whatever muscles I have in working order.

Buzz: sounds like you might need to do as John does, he has a special calendar that is his health calendar. He notes his BP, meds taken, Dr. appointments, etc. John is a compulsive note and list person. I fly by the seat of my pants.

Have a happy day all in Sneakerville...Anne, Buzz, Jackie, Lin, Me, Sandy and all other sneakers!

Hello, home for a little while and then plan to head out for early voting. The weather is nice today so plan to take advantage of it. This morning I headed out to the gas station, a long walk around Hobby Lobby as many things I use were 50% off today. Wahoo! Then I went to Costco to pick up some giant packages of shelf stable items for myself and for the church. Although I am afraid I purchased the wrong hand towels, might have to exchange them. Also got my membership renewed and my glasses adjusted. Everything is unpacked and put away now. That part is almost as time consuming as the acquisition. Haaaaa.

I did lot of looking about as I drove today. Incredible reds, rusts, yellows, orange, brown and a bit of green. Just fabulous. Some trees just made me want to pull over and just study the light moving among the leaves as a tiny bit of breeze gently caused them to sway. I must remember this as the colors fade into winter tones.

Sandy, a junior suite looks pretty magnificent to me. How comfy and luxurious. No wonder you make casino trips! Enjoy your stay and travel safely.

Buzz, you have a wonderful service plan with Dell. I am sorry you have to use it but thank goodness you had the foresight to sign up for it. I don’t have anyone to rely on either. If I cannot figure something out I have to take my laptop in to the local service shop and pay the hourly rate. Or if it is a router issue, I must pay for a service call and hourly rate. That has only happened twice (so far).

Jackie, oh goodness, when it rains it pours! Two service calls at once? Lots of tea and lots of excitement for George. Amazon stopped using UPS, at least for my orders. I was pretty satisfied with deliveries with that carrier. Now almost everything comes via USPS. You would think the post office could get it right since they deliver to everyone on a regular basis. I have had more lost packages, delayed packages, deliveries supposedly made but NOT to me (luckily many people will bring the errant item to the correct address) and other mayhem. I have found, after much searching, ways to contact Amazon by phone and by email but they bury that information quite deep in the web site. When I am upset about a delivery gone bad, I often do not have the patience to try to dig through to find it.

Anne, our young Annie as it turns out, what a lot of walking you are doing now. Jilly should be embarrassed that she doesn’t gear up to go with you. I am more concerned that you are walking on your own each day. A safe neighborhood? Still raining? We are promised some rain either tomorrow or Thursday but oh, I am enjoying the sunshine today.

Patsy, how do those trolls find out so much about us? It has not happened to me on this web site but another friend, who is very much into the workout part of this site, has had multiple issues with men misbehaving after becoming friends. She would report them, remove them as friends and then in time she would find they resurfaced under a new identity and were back to the same foolishness. She quit MFP several different times and started with new names etc. It got to the point that she would get a request and she would ask her existing friends if anyone could claim this person as an okay individual and as a current friend. If not, she didn’t add them to her friends. I don’t think they got her home phone number or anything. Frightening.

Well, time to see if I can get my vote cast without standing in line for hours.

    Hugs to my friends.

    Lin

Went down for dinner and felt better being with friends. When I came back up, I could not get back online without using a password. What a mess. It seems I have different passwords for my Windows areas, which should not have happened! One letter difference to open computer and after 3 tries, I finally got on! I think there are only a certain number of attempts before it locks up!!! :s Love Dell, hate Comcast!
I have been finding when I eat little extras (I guess making sure to have ALL the daily points), I lose more than carefully eating less! Tonight I had trouble choosing from the menu, as they had lamb chops, bacon/liver and onions, or Asian salmon (delicious recipe). Soup of the day was a thick yummy split pea! And besides all the fabulous ice creams, which I ignored, they had Baked Apples which were irresistible! I'll see in the morning what kind of damage my 4 chops did to my weight! I understand they are making huge changes in offerings with our new culinary administrator from the UK!
SANDY, the nice American hotels are so much larger than any European rooms I've stayed in, as JACKIE pointed out! Except for Israel, where we had a huge corner suite, but no available water after 7 on the higher floors!!! Of course that was long ago and I'm sure they have figured out by now how to raise the water pressure!LIN, I voted by absentee ballot, and I hope they don't change more rules by the time they should be read! Florida is one crazy state! ANNE's weather sounds as unpredictable as mine! So I think I'll get some shut-eye and calm down a bit. I would switch servers if I thought ATT were better, but in my buildings, with old wiring, both servers are awful!

So far so good with the comings and goings of tradesmen. The cheerful window cleaner has visited and given me a reasonable quote while suggesting the mesh on the front guttering should be removed because all it does is stop the natural flow of rainwater and become clogged up with moss. He will return this afternoon so at least I will be sparkling outside. The builders are here at the moment and have put a fireproof board across the back wall of the surround and are about to pour a silicone base to level the floor... all very technical but they know what they're doing. They will have to wait for it to settle and return on Monday to lay the tiles, just as the weather starts to turn cold, so I won't have my new stove in for another week. One of my nice neighbours is walking George because he was getting too excited about all the visitors and barking constantly. She said she will walk him a good mile to a field then let him have a run so I think the job might be finished this morning by the time they return. Now I feel like Lady Muck with all the things I would normally do for myself being carried out by others... I'm enjoying a coffee and piece of toast in the sunshine! It's a beautiful day so I will get on with the never ending garden tidying.

My neighbour has just sent me a photo of George looking at the local ancient burial mound. Seems he's having a great time.

Buzz, I know we have to make sure we do eat enough so as not to fall into the starvation mode but it's something I rarely get anywhere near. With some thought I'm getting myself out of the habit of eating a couple of biscuits (cookies) with my afternoon tea and generally checking the time to see if I'm close to a meal before picking at something because it's just too easy for me to slip. I read somewhere that Comcast has bought out our Sky network that has everything from a phone and broadband to tv channels but it's not one I've paid for because I feel don't have enough time to watch the channels I do have and when I record a series it can take me months to watch.

Lin, what a beautiful drive amongst all that colour... it really is the best time of year isn't it. Hmm, sounds like it's best to avoid any new friends on MFP unless we are absolutely sure but there is no way until someone gets stupid and annoying is there.

Patsy, a few days ago I saw a news item that covered American voters' diverse beliefs and it does seem a rather distasteful far right element has surfaced from who knows where. The programme makers traveled from Idaho through Eastern Oregon which I'm guessing is some distance from your home on the coast.

Good morning bedraggled Anne, although hopefully not so today!

I must drop the Lady Muck act and get on with some work!

Good morning. Still dark and cold here but the rain is now not expected until tomorrow which would be fine with me. Getting ready to go to Tai Chi and Qigong. Then I should go back and check on those hand towels and I really should make myself a note. Is it the C fold or the M fold towels. Never remember and they are both from the same manufacturer. Argh. Then we will see, I may hit the post office and the credit union. There are additional Tai Chi classes this afternoon as well. But we will see.

Jackie, having the work done sounds lovely to me. Lady Muck? Now that doesn’t sound quite right. Haaa. Lucky George out for a romp. He looks quite interested in that burial mound. Little critters perhaps? Darn, wish you could get the tile finished this week but I guess you cannot rush a proper job. It will be wonderful when all finished. I am enjoying my coffee now. Probably not the best thing to do when I will be trying to be calm and endeavoring to move with intention and the caffeine is saying “ go-go-go”.

Wishing everyone a happy day. Hugs.

Good morning All! Cloudy and cold here. We are to have a few days of wet weather now. But we have umbrellas and raincoats...we will be fine. Katie really hates getting too wet. She goes out to do her “business” then it is back in for a brisk towel off. This requires a few minutes of dashing around at full speed nearly knocking us over if we get in the way. I laugh at the time I tried to get her to wear a rain jacket. It was if I had tried to place her in some sort of torture configuration. Another of my brilliant ideas that didn’t pan out.

The political action group is going on full speed trying to get everyone registered and ready to vote their choice. I don’t want to influence their choice really. But for goodness sake...make a choice and vote! The seniors are ready to vote but are often given incomplete information. We just want them to get their ballets filled out and ready to send. We live in a state that allows mail in votes.

Our fall colors are glorious this year. Not sure why some years we don’t seem to have any colors. This is one of our colorful years.

Lin, I agree about having some work done around the house and grounds. It is a constant battle around here. I would love to have some help. I have sung this song before, as you know. So Jackie! Enjoy the fact that you will soon have a lovely warm stove and equally lovely tile in the garden room. We will eagerly await photos.

The day started off good. I did my 40 minute walk and then everything went downhill. Nothing big mind, stupid little mistakes and then I watched the 12 o'clock news which was completely devoted to some nut case in the USA posting pipe bombs to prominent people. Apart from the evilness of wanting to maim or kill people, why on earth would someone waste their precious time on earth assembling a pipe bomb! Beats me and at that point I decided I'd nothing useful to say today and buried my head in a book.
Hope your day was more productive,
    Annie.

Florida has mail i voting so I have already sent mine in. However, many areas are trying to fool voters by giving wrong dates, incorrect polling places, all kinds of wrong information to try to prevent voting amongst minority groups. Georgia is one of the worst for this, but gerrymandering is also a big problem everywhere! I hate this campaign season as it has brought out the worst in so many people! And lying seems to be more and more common among the politicians until we can't tell the difference any longer. Was this in the plans when countries were formed?
    Dinner time!!!!!
