Glad you have your air conditioner Anne. It is time for it. We are only around 90 degrees F right now. I think that is down from earlier in the afternoon. Your smoothie sounds lovely Anne. Fingers crossed that the strawberries remain On the "okay" list for you. They are very tasty this year. I was out earlier (around noon) and several people were walking dogs. Not only is it hot but I worry about the poor doggies feet while walking on very hot concrete sidewalks. If it was hot I tried to get my dogs in the grass on our walks but Huskies do have their own ideas of doing things. :D So good for you keeping Jilly at home.

Sandy, no laundry for me today as the water conditioner man was making a call and after he left I decided to wait for another day as I only had one little load to do since I had done some laundry over the weekend. Yipes--- what a premium increase!! For that incident where your car ran up onto something? Otherwise I do not remember an accident. Happy hunting. My policy has a forgiveness feature that they will not surcharge for a first accident if you haven't had one in the last few years even if you are at fault. I hope you find something that other folks have had good experience with.

Well, the water conditioner guy checked everything out and tested water in the basement and the first floor. He found nothing but a little valve that was a bit off (and the water is not not quite soft upstairs) he said it was a tiny bit of dirt, then he recharged the system and told me to wait until after the system recharges again to see if the water feels that slimey feel of soft water. No idea what that service call cost, he said they would send a bill. He also said they hardly ever have to come out for a system problem, I thought okay, then do not charge me. Haaaaaa

I also called Social Security today after reading and reading material on the web site. Could not find the answer to my question so called and left my number. They called back in about 45 minutes and that was pretty much worthless. I have no more information than I had before and the person would not confirm the changes that were put into place in 2016. Sooooo, I now have a call scheduled to talk to a claim specialist. Would you believe the first phone appointment was TWO weeks from tomorrow afternoon?? Good Lord. Well, I guess my questions will just have to wait but it will save me (I hope) from a drive downtown and a morning of sitting in the the local office. Well, that is the theory.

Time to get my trash ready to put out on the curb. I have more cardboard to crush and the bin will be stuffed to the gills. I hope I don't pack it so tightly that it will not dump out! That has happened. :D:D

    I hope everyone is well.

    Hugs from here.

    Hello All,

Finally have a few minutes to catch up on my reading. I know I'm very slow replying but I thought I'd reply to Anneand Jackie about our trip to Nova Scotia. We are leaving in mid August and I'll probably spend about a month there and some time in Newfoundland. Ed grew up in Nova Scotia. Yes Jackie it can be foggy.

Buzz I love fruit too and sometimes you can't pass it up. It's just too good.

Lin your weather sounds awfully hot for me.

Thanks for all your kind words and congratulations about my reaching the my goal. I'm still so thrilled about that.

Sandy Since I've been doing more low carb I been doing much better in the weight department. That really isn't a problem for me as I have to eat gluten free and I try to avoid most breads anyway. I was eating lots of salads for lunch and that seems to work really good for me.

We sold our travel trailer today and so now is the next step. We can get serious about looking for an RV a trailer or perhaps a fifth wheel. We are very much restricted as our truck doesn't pull much.

    Wish me luck.

JERI, of course we wish you good luck...always!
LIN, the wait for phoning Social Security can be interminable, so I often leave my number and they call back within the hour. However, once I get a live person, I have found them to be helpful, so perhaps you should request a supervisor if you don't have a satisfactory conclusion. Dealing with government employees can be pretty frustrating :s !
I probably should try low carbs again, but always find it affects my elimination, so I add whole grains. And don't lose weight!
My legs are itching something fierce so I must take off the wrap, and get to bed earlier than usual. I keep reading about more sleep for weight control, and I have been bad!

    Good Morning

    Buzz. Thank you.

    Anne gorgeous, gorgeous

It's a beautiful day this morning. The sun is shining and my backyard just looks so gorgeous. I think we'll probably go out and look for a new RV device perhaps a smaller trailer or a small motor home today That is if Ed is up to doing it. As per usual he still fast asleep upstairs said I'm downstairs finishing off my breakfast. I'm the early riser in the family and the poor sleeper but the morning always calls my name. I glad he likes to sleep in actually as I enjoy sitting here drinking my cup of tea and enjoying the morning sunshine.

Here are a couple of photos I took out in the yard yesterday. I thought you would enjoy them.

Happy Tuesday! :) Sorry, no photos of flowers, I don't even have a basket on my deck. Maybe I will buy a hanging basket but it is so hard to water without it dripping on the people below me. U guess I could bring it in my kitchen sink to water, that might work. Both Anne and Jeri's flowers are absolutely gorgeous!! Thanks for sharing.

Jeri, good luck with finding your new transportation. I think a small motor home would be easier than trailing one on your truck, but that is just my opinion and I know nothing about RV's or motor homes. lol

Anne, your flowers look beautiful, maybe you and Jeri can share a picture of your yards so we can see the whole effect!!

Buzz, I hope your legs are better this morning and not so itchy. With eating lots of veggies and salad on low carb doesn't that help with elimination?

Lin, yes the accident is from when I slipped on snow and got caught on a pipe of some kind. American Family told me they took off 6 points for that and because I turned 75 my insurance went up. I am now with State Farm who quoted me almost $400 cheaper than AF with the same coverage but in addition car rental. May I ask who you use for car insurance?

Marie, good luck at the doctor today!!

Jackie? Are you drowning or sunning?

    Have a great day!

Alas SANDY, not my yard but DIL Mary Jo's English style garden last Saturday. My garden looks pretty this year, Siberian Iris's and peonies at their very best but nothing like MJs huge plot.
You could put a meat platter or very large plate under your balcony flowers. I do that to protect my little cedar table.
On the subject of growing things, some of my poor beetroot leaves and some of the zucchini leaves got burnt in the dreadful heat yesterday, so I must go out and drag the containers into half shade, half sunshine during the day. At the moment, direct sunshine all day.
The extreme heat has gone and with the windows open, Jilly is having a good old yap at anyone minding their own business and walking past.
Here's a poor, in comparison, to MJs garden corner of my front garden, Mother's Day flower gift! And a small zucchini, one of nine in the back.
    Anne.

ANNE, I have nothing here of my own, so your garden looks fine to me; but I must agree Mary Jo's is magnificent, as are your photos of it! And how about JERI's flower photos, as well? My gosh, you gals have such talent!
SANDY, I had insurance with Liberty a few years back, and sure enough, when our car was hit on the passenger side by a lady with a number of such accidents to her history, our insurance did not go up immediately! How ever, the following year they raised us $500 even though that accident never cost them one cent! And they also figured age. I changed to a mutual insurance company listed as 2nd only to the government company for veterans (top listing) and not only was it much lower, but the fee went down over the years because the clients are "part owners", since it is a mutual company, and we shared the good years. AMICA in Rhode Island was the company, and I still have my renters' insurance with them and find their prices extremely fair! In Florida, it's not easy to find a company to cover rental clients!
By the way, no, salads and veggies don't work for me, though prunes, if I eat at least 5, do!
Grains work best! It's a struggle, but my clothes cover much of it well, I'm told! I wear a lot of tunic tops over palazzo or boot type pants (need width for the wraps) and try to concentrate on focusing above the ample bosom!!! Have discovered SoftSurroundings.com and they have a nice selection of clothes flattering to me. I never get to clothing stores any more, so I shop online. (Very dangerous!)...And yes, my legs seem better this morning, thank you.
I'm thinking about signing up for shuffleboard and Bocce as an excuse for moving a bit more than I do! I feel like vegetable right now.
JACKIE, has Georgie been behaving lately? Any more swim parties?
I'd better try a shampoo and blow dry to see how my hair will be for Birthday Night Dinner tonight. I may end up going back to really short hair again, as this length can be so unpredictable!

Wow!! Magnificent pictures today. Enjoyed them all. I have no flowers this year so gratefully soak up visions of beauty that others provide.

Jeri, good luck in your shopping. My friends recently bought a new pull behind the truck unit and were totally satisfied with it until they went to Missouri over the weekend. First long haul for them. Flat tire, okay that can happen but after pulling it that far they also had problems with their vehicle. That may or may not be related but they had to have someone come down and pull the camper home for them. Hummmm. A little unit sounds better to me! What a long trip you have in mind. You will have time to see everything. Wahoo. It sounds nice to have a quiet time to enjoy your tea. That works out well.

Anne, careful as you drag those pots around. Your back is more important than a few scorched leaves. I know you will be careful of course. Now if Jilly could help out? Haaaa. I am sure she is your encourager.

Sandy, my gosh, that wasn't a big accident and no other vehicles were involved. Hummmm. Well, I have State Farm but while they have first accident forgiveness I also know they age rate. My dad also used them and his insurance got mighty expensive, not based on his driving record, but just his age.

Buzz, prunes always worked for me as well. I eat lots of vegetables of course but I seem to walk a fine line between not enough fiber and tooooo much. Glad your legs are better today. I am sure you are fashionably dressed each day.

I am leaving in a few minutes for the library for coloring and chatting. Mah Jongg was cancelled today as two of the four who play at my table were unavailable. I took advantage of the time and got my haircut, dropped off an item at the post office, stopped by Michael's, another stop at Walgreen's, and got a free cold brewed coffee at Starbucks. I find I am missing an item from my purchase so I have called Michael's and talked to the manager. She remembers me and has out the item at the checkout for me to pick up. That was nice!

Well, back out into the heat. Oh, and yes Buzz, the person who called me back from Social Security was most unhelpful and did all she could to just get rid of me. No need to push. If she tried to answer my question I would not be at all confident that she gave me an accurate answer. I will wait the two weeks. If I don't get a suitable response them I guess I will need to try to speak to a manager or senior person.

    Hugs.

I love AirPrint! The only catch is you have to have a printer that is AirPrint enabled. My old one was not.

    Lin and Buzz

I print using AirPrint all the time. I love it. I just have a cheap HP printer but it works great.

Finally saw a couple trailers that I was interested in today. Who knows maybe will actually get out camping in a little while. We haven't gone for about three years. First it was when mom got sick and died and I had to spend so much time settling the estate and then my sister got sick the next year and we spend a great deal of our time in Washington. Forget what the reason was last year but here we go again and we really want to go camping. Hopefully we'll find one soon.

I've got a dentist appointment tomorrow and that is my most unwanted to do thing. I have a real phobia about dentists and I go, but I sure don't want to. Fingers crossed.

I agree Jeri. I love AirPrint too but to utilize it originally, I had to get a new printer which turned out to be a great purchase. I hope you have found a trailer you like that you will get out there and do some camping this year. It has been a long time. Hugs on the dentist's visit. I hope there are no problems. I freak out with both the dentist and the doctor!

Well we had rain and storms overnight and the temperature has finally dropped. I have my rain jacket ready and am off to Tai Chi this morning and then off for coloring, chatting and dropping off a load of ladies clothing for a family who lost everything in a fire. The mom and dad come to this coloring day each week.

Buzz, how was the birthday dinner?

    Wishing everyone well.

    Hugs.

Happy Wednesday! :) I am going to lunch with Joe, my 93 year old friend from the pool. And tonight I am going to bingo because next week I am sitting for the boys. I am also hoping to get a mani/pedi this afternoon.

Lin, my printer says it is an AirPrint but I can't figure out how to sync it to my phone or IPad and it frustrates me. We didn't get the rain that some did, all it did was get dark and cooler. It is back in the high 80's today with a possible shower. I will see next year what State Farm will do with my car insurance, this year I love the reduced price. Do you use that safe driving thing offered for lower rates?

Jeri, you have had a rough couple of years so I hope you can find a trailer and enjoy some time with your hubby. Good luck at the dentist, I also hate going and have to go every four months for a cleaning.

What happened to our Jackie? Was she going out of town?

    Hi Marie and Anne.

    Have a good day.

All go here. Walked with Jilly to the hairdresser who's changed her phone No. and salon name having ditched her partner. Hence having to book in person and find out new phone number. Appointment tomorrow to have it all shorn off. It's driving me nuts!

Darren came over and relieved me of two more zucchini plants, yeah.

Then up rolls Janice with Amy to offer me the loan of her steam carpet cleaner. However, I've decided to buy one. Any ideas on a good make? Amy enjoyed Jilly's homemade doggy stew, lol. Gone before Janice could lift bowl up.

Took new photo of me with my present haircut for the profile because I know tomorrow I will look like an aging shorn sheep. Mutton in other words. I think longer hair suits me best, but who cares at my age and it's uncontrollable in the high winds we get these days.

My home looked pretty untidy when Janice came in, so guess what I'll be doing after lunch! Although why bother! It's too late now, I think!
    Anne.

Here I am.... been very busy and yesterday because my evening yoga class was cancelled I went back out to cut my grass and do some gardening. We've had lovely weather so I can do lots of clearing and tidying, in fact I'll go back out in a minute to enjoy the evening sunshine. The lady who is going to help me get on top of the weeding arrived this morning to work for a couple of hours and does seem to now understand my way of gardening does not include chemicals and big strimmers, in fact she told me another client has told her much the same.... pull up the obvious weeds but leave everything else to fall into clusters of colour. I'm not sure she recognises all the plants in my garden so I have to keep an eye on what gets pulled up just in case!
My decorating chores are finally finished and I'm told my new furniture will be delivered on Friday so I won't know myself as I put my feet up!!
Beautiful photos of the flowers especially Jeri's Solomon's Seal, at least I think it's that rather than Love Lies Bleeding? It's a plant I've tried to grow many times but it doesn't seem to like my soil.

Well, this isn't getting anything done so I'll get on.
    Jackie
