Teapot. What a surprise right?
“ PBB (Price Bros Burslem) eventually became Price Kensington. The decoration is in great condition seeing the pot was definitely used. Circa 1925”

Exactly BARBIE, and regarding the virus the worst hit area here is the East Asian area community. I'm afraid they do need to be policed. The numbers of infected people in the area they have chosen to live is quite staggering. It's been known for some time but only now is it on the news as official. I think it's because people from India love to socialize whilst the original English/French/European people adapt to living in their own "castles" more. Just a culture difference when it all boils down. I'm not sure how it can be dealt with and the virus will thrive until it is.

Cold at 5am – 22 degrees (but peaceful looking), but by the time I got out of the gym it had zoomed to 23 degrees. More people than usual at 6am, but still plenty of room and got my 7k steps completed. Busy run around morning planned banking etc. Then home to chill and watch “This is Us” from last night with Jean.
Linn – Sorry about your pastor. Always feel bad about people dealing with death and sickness during this Covid time. There is only so much I can take myself of all the news and various viewpoints. I do follow the fight of meteorologist Janice Dean as she battles our governor whose nursing home decisions caused the unnecessary death of thousands. He admits no guilt / lies and in still hiding numbers. NYS counts deaths differently than other states. Here is a short interview from this week. She is one of the most sincere people on TV IMHO.

I think you are right on the china – we need to use it more. At present, we take it out for Easter, Thanksgiving, Christmas etc.
Jackie – I think you are right and I will be changing my emoji a bit to fit the colder temps.
As for meals, I try to do my best with what works for me. I know so many people that engage in their own health regimens from Keto to IF to low carb, to old vs. new pyramid etc…. like exercise – I say do what makes you feel good and healthy. I have some relatives that like to lecture other relatives on what they are doing wrong. I don’t go there. LOL
For the holidays and always – we go with what makes common sense… we are over 65, I have co-morbidities etc. and I respect the opinions of others. In short – we social distance and wear masks when we can’t or if required at gym, store or someone’s home (if it is a concern for occupants). I don’t like when people intentionally get in the face of others because they think a certain way. Respect yourself and other people is how we think.
Bob Seger and Silver Bullet – is of course – “another vinyl album in my collection” as well!
Sandy – Great story about the good Samaritan and tip refusal. Love hearing them. Reminds me of the extra care my dad’s hospice nurse gave him. We took her out to dinner after he passed and gave her a “nice” check (as my dad had instructed). She said she couldn’t accept. We told her she was free to take it up with him. LOL There are some very nice people in the world.
Well – time to hop in the tub, get dressed and head out. Stay warm and healthy everyone! Bob

Oh my, it is still rainy here. I unfortunately have had very little sleep. Neuropathy is so irritating. Comes without reason and always in the dark of night when I should be sound asleep. I will have a unproductive day, I fear. But as my gram used to say...don’t whine Patsy! That little ouch is too far from your heart to kill you!”
I try not to give advice. Most of the time I am floundering around, just trying to keep myself upright and f am usually up to my eyelashes in trouble. I am an ultra liberal and I can’t help it. I don’t think I could get any more liberal. I was born that way. I grew up in a huge Irish household full of them. Loud and lots of music and dancing. So I married a proper very introverted intellectual. PERFECT! His idea of a perfect day is to tinker in his shop while I cook a very gourmet meal served at the dining room table with cloth napkins. He would then read his novels or we would watch a good movie. Something with explosions and car chases. Hummmmmm something is wrong with this picture.
I wish I loved exercise. I don’t! I force myself to do them. But if I don’t, I suffer ugly reprocussions.
Our state is in lockdown and think it might be a good idea. We are suffering alarming spikes and also including children. Our hospitals are full, no surgeries except super emergencies. Recently We would see people strolling around town without masks, chatting happily with friends and family as they walked. I wish we had more responsible people like Barbie, this thing would be over.
Herbal tea and an orange for me. Katie gets a milk bone, John is still in bed but I hear him waking up.
My strange day begins. Not much energy but the neuropathy is better. I will not try to do anything very demanding. I am in that state where I could cause myself great damage operating a teaspoon.

Horrifying BOB, your video and I understand the deceit involved. Sent to the hospital to hide the true numbers. We had the opposite problem with Roy. He was taken out of the hospital after surgery, not sent home, but placed in a nursing home to recover where he died after contacting the virus. Anne.0

My day began surrounded by thick fog and rain so a walk round the village was enough! Made a pot of coffee and sorted paperwork while searching for Brady’s vaccination booster card as I was sure the next is due this month. I was right! Normally the vet phones through a reminder but rather like our GP practice, they have shut their doors, it feels like that anyway. I’ll call the practice tomorrow and see what they say because when it was time for George’s during the first lockdown it was suddenly ok to extend the time by about 3 months. The sun broke through after lunch (cottage cheese with 3 pineapple rings) so I spent a couple of hours tidying areas and cutting back ivy that has spread over a high tree stump until I became aware my feet were frozen in my wellies so I’m now indoors enjoying a cup of tea.
Our scientists are telling us many people relaxed too much when we came out of the initial lockdown although common sense said the virus hadn’t gone away. That was obvious from scenes of crowds on beaches and outside pubs so here we are again, this time heading towards Christmas when government guidance will be ignored for sure. I can’t see that any of our group needs to be policed but I do understand some “idiots” do! Bob’s video echoes what happened in England when senior Covid sufferers were sent from hospitals into care homes when care workers hadn’t even got access to PPI so spread the virus amongst the residents through no fault of their own. Care home managers were in tears over it at the time because they felt no one cared about the elderly. We are definitely being misled on numbers but I’m tired of all the statistics that seem to somehow skim over the personal tragic stories.
I stopped giving advice or opinions a long time ago when I realised we all approach life’s rich tapestry in our own way and no one is right or wrong, just different. It probably also had something to do with the fact no one took any notice anyway! 😅
My weigh scales are working again which is why I decided on today’s light lunch. I’ll be back with you in Friday Sandy.
A fancy teapot today Lin... could almost be a Brown Bess with attitude!!
A cold night expected and winds from the north tomorrow so, since it’s already dark, I shall throw logs on the fire, make another cuppa and google search bookcases. One I was watching has gone... drat. The pine, chunky antique is still available though so I’d better make my mind up.
It must be cold outside because Brady just came through his cat flap and immediately curled up on my lap.... he is NOT a lap cat!
Keep warm and as we Brits keep being advised, stay alert!
Jackie

Happy Wednesday!! A little warmer today but windy so I do not mind staying in place at all. I will get a grocery order together for pick up tomorrow and hope most items are in stock. Lisa's birthday is Saturday so it is my turn to treat for dinner and I asked her to pick a nice place maybe for steaks or something extravagant. The following week is my son's birthday and since Lisa's parents are having Thanksgiving I said I would also treat for him that week.
So our small bubble has some fun times ahead but will stay safe at the same time. ( I pray)
Jackie, the only advice I give is to wear masks and stay safe. Since we have no control over others no point in trying to change them. Love Barbie's post and agree 100%. They have closed many more things here including no gym classes and limited access to gyms. Our positivity rate is getting higher every day and until the vaccine is available I wish people would listen. Keep those furry kids warm as well as yourself.
Patsy, your post always make me smile, I am so happy you are part of our group. Which reminds me I am getting a couple of new requests for friends from men but I declined. I figure if they want to join our group they will come and ask us all.
Bob, I love This is Us and never miss an episode. There are a lot of people who hate our governor as well but I personally think he is doing a great job with the virus. I think we will all be so glad when the vaccine is ready and we can get back to some sort of normalcy.
Lin, love today's teapot. I did get my Thanksgiving cards mailed thank to you. Also have quite a few birthdays in November. I am sorry about your pastor, I am sure you came up with the correct words.
Barbie, love your posts, right on!!!
Have a great day, wear your masks and stay safe.

Good afternoon. I have been busy today. Got the sympathy card in the mail, patiently waited for my books at the library, attended a Zoom meeting (interesting), reviewed changes to my will and did a bit of cleaning out and vacuuming. Time to change the ink cartridges in my printer, print out the will and call the credit union to see when a notary will be in the office.
Governors, well, I will not make further comment I guess. We are having data issues here and it seems our officials do not want us to have accurate numbers on anything including hospital and ICU beds. They are now saying that is sensitive information which cannot be made public. I think everyone is a bit or a lot insane.
Well, I have a nice pile of books to read now. That is a plus.
Sandy, good luck on getting the groceries you want. I did get my few items, so I am pleased. Helping out Bryanna seems like the best thing to do. It was an emergency and many people are having money problems now with either no job or a very part time job. A friend works in the home mortgage servicing business. He is so flooded with call after call requesting help with their mortgage. People are in danger of losing their homes. I know, no new news there but I am saying many people are having money problems. How could we have imagined how long this would last. Even emergency funds used to be a 3 to 6 month cushion. ❤️❤️
Jackie, sorry the bookshelf you were looking at was not available. Darn. And my gosh, always something to tidy up. It is warmer here today and the sun popped through but once again, windy! It is time to let remaining leaves to their own devises. Cannot chase them down. But you are still trimming and tidying. Wow!!
Patsy, any chance of getting a nap today? I hope your slow pace day is going well.
Bob, I hope you have had an enjoyable day. Stay bundled up and warm. How is Jean? Are you still considering a part time job?
Barbie, you are sensible. Always. Other people, not so much.
Take care everyone.
Continuing best wishes Buzz, Diane, Jeri and all other Sneakers.

Back home from running around and actually did get an unplanned 2nd walk completed with Jean too. Pit-stopped at the Hallmark Store to pick up another Harry Potter tree “story teller” interactive light & sound ornament from the Harry Potter collection. Grandson’s birthday quickly approaching and knew stock would be low.
Speaking of low-stock – while Jean picked up a meal for her “friend” I stopped at the grocery store for Jean’s favorite brand of peanut butter that she has 365 days a year on a New England roll and a supply of Sabrina’s Fancy Feast Seafood “Pate” (NOT Flaked) that is her favorite. I returned home to deliver the bad news. LOL
Lunch was Baked Haddock, Asparagus Tips, Riced Cauliflower and Broccoli – yum!
Patsy – That nerve pain has to be very bothersome, but I like your gram’s saying – might even steal it. I agree about not really giving advice, as most people don’t want it anyways. I am all over the map depending upon a specific issue. With regards to exercise, I can’t say I love it as much as the after-effect. I do enjoy the treadmill in the morning, as it seems to get the old joints/mind going for the day. I would hate being unable to do it.
Anne – Yes, it is horrifying. It wasn’t necessary and he takes zero responsibility. Without Janice Dean, it wouldn’t get much attention and there are no plans to release the “real” numbers til next year. So sorry about Roy… so many sad stories and you normally can find them within your own group of family/friends.
Jackie – Without getting too much into the weeds etc., I am a bit tired of politicians blaming so much on “the people”. Over 90% of people have practiced social distancing, wear masks when required, wash hands etc. I don’t personally know of anyone that doesn’t take it seriously – but do know some that disagree with various practices. It disgusts me when politicians exclude themselves from their own dictates and always shave excuses – Lightfoot, de Blasio, Cuomo, Pelosi and several others. Heck Gavin Newsome only apologized for his oversized unprotected birthday bash at a 3-Star Michelin restaurant AFTER the public backlash.
I agree there is too much skimming over personal tragic stories. Of people I know, there is a different perspective from those with connections or have jobs that are guaranteed and still get their full salary etc. vs the ones that have lost their business, job, savings etc. and are essentially ruined for the foreseeable future. I try to judge the circumstances of the individual when they are expressing (or venting) their opinion. OK – enough serious talk. LOL
Sandy – Ditto on This is Us… I was wondering if it was going to still be good and hold our interest for another season – and it has – now to wait til the next episode Jan 5th. Glad you have a decent governor that is doing an overall good job. It’s new territory for everyone. Some leaders are certainly better than others. Glad of the vaccine progress for sure…not to worry – when I can’t social distance (or when required in stores etc.) we always mask up.
Lin – It was a good day, Jean is doing well, although her husband can be a jerk (LOL). Still “thinking” about doing something part-time and actually have a thought of a place in my mind. But it would entail being outdoors part of the time, so I need to think carefully. Also I have my colonoscopy scheduled 2 days before Christmas and would want that “behind” me – a little humor. (Actually, the last colonoscopy ended up with an emergency bleeding situation on the 4th of July one year – maybe I should have stayed further away from a holiday date. ) Oh well.. whatever will be will be.
Bye for now. Be safe everyone. Bob

We've just got up and eating oatmeal, drinking strong Irish tea and rummaging through chicken breakfast. The latter being for the pup who I think eats better than me most of the time. My cupboards, and fridge shelves look similar to Jean and Sabrina's, especially when you add doggie treats etc.
I was very naughty last evening. Apart from starting my new book which was supposedly for Christmas reading I had a peek into my favourite make up online store. I ran out of makeup around 7 months ago. Not that I plaster the stuff on, just a smidgen, but I was feeling a bit drab peering at the naked Anne in the mirror each morning and I fell! I ordered two palish orange red lipsticks, the orange side of the spectrum suits me best and eyeshadow. Naughty, naughty, however I can't take any cash with me when I greet lucifer so I might as well be devilish now and get all dressed up for an isolation Christmas or whatever we end up with.
The two sons phoned whilst I was doing this, one to have a moan and the other to tell me what I should be watching on my few tv channels. I told neither what I was up to, particularly as Mary Jo is very pretty and doesn't need makeup like her ma-in-law. Being in her fifties helps of course as opposed to........ the makeup site wanted to know my age, cheeky things, maybe to guide spotty faced teenagers, I desisted after all to be honest how many octogenarians need advice after living so long in their birthday suits.
Apart from that a long long afternoon talk with Maria who was chopping veggies until Tony tried to grab her paring knife and she had to sort him out. He's to have a prostate operation soon and she's dreading it.
Anyway it all made a change from deadbeat politicians. Ours are doing a bit of wriggling themselves now.
Must get ready before Dorio shows up on bow legs from carrying this weeks huge Christmas order.
Not to mention Jilly the Bean leaping up and down between his bow legs, lol.
Yours in poverty.....Anne the made up bookworm.0 -
Here's Jilly just waking up.

The dogs went to the groomer yesterday, I got to go to the bank and the library, and Jake goes for a haircut this morning. Life is good. My step count was too low yesterday when I finished the late afternoon dog walk so Jake suggested that I go for a walk. It was great. It was dark so no one else was walking and there were Christmas lights up already in a few yards. When I got home, I found that Jake had saved a video for us to watch together---"The History of Toilet Paper".

Happy Thursday! Meeting and grocery pick up day. It is going to get to 65 today so won't mind being outside.
Joe is going for a cat scan this morning just not sure where as he tried to explain. If he feels up to it we will probably meet up after my grocery pickup. Hopefully he will be okay as I am very worried about him.
Barbie, glad you got your errands done and Jake got his haircut. Lisa has had her tree up since the beginning of November, she wants the kids to enjoy the Christmas season.
Anne, aww beautiful picture of Jilly. I had a dream about Daisy last night and she was so excited to see me everyone around me was crying. I really do miss her and wonder if she would remember me. It is so unfair that not only can I see my granddaughter but Daisy as well. I will get off my pity pot, just venting a little. Nothing naughty about taking care of yourself, you deserve it. It is a strange time on our lives and if we want to make some purchases to make us happy and can afford it, then do it. Which is why I bought my very expensive Ninja Air Cooker. BTW, love your new profile picture.
Everyone else is on the other page and I don't have much time as I want to go to bank (ATM) and Dollar Tree before my meeting. Have a good day, wear a mask and stay safe.

Thanks SANDY, I was feeling a bit guilty about making a frivolous purchase, but you are right, we need a frivolous break now and again.
My huge order turned up. Everything came as ordered including a bottle of after dinner port wine. Dorio was supposed to check my date of birth to make sure I'm over eighteen. He didn't, I wonder why, lol.

Good morning everyone! Rain among brief moments of sun...just life life. Some good times and some bad times.
Feeling very philosophical today. Our dear musician friend is in late stage Alzheimer’s. It is starting to affect his physical body as well as his brain. My friends wife is caring for him at home. It is a hard job that she is not suited for. She gets depressed and angry at him. It breaks my heart when talking to her. I know she is doing her best and with COVID, she gets very little assistance. As an interesting contrast, my cousin is caring for her husband with COPD and lung cancer. Her husband is suffering and scared. My cousin is a delightful sweetheart who plans amazing diverting activities for her husband. Unfortunately her thanksgiving plans could cause a disaster. She is having her daughters whole family over for a huge sit down dinner. This includes people from several households and all parts of colorado. No masks or distances, just laughter, jokes, food and fun! I am praying this doesn’t turn into a family superspreader.
We talked to our son yesterday and he is doing well. Lots of business, both corporate and entertainment. Yea! He will be eating thanksgiving with us on zoom or FaceTime. His girlfriend might be coming to visit in January instead of December. That is tricky because he has a bid out for some special effects for a political background. It is a big job and requires a huge amount of concentrated effort. Life is interestingly complicated for younger people. For John and I, our big thing is which dvd to watch?
My new experiment will be to follow a YouTube chef as he shows how to make creme freshe to serve with caviar on thanksgiving. Sounds expensive but it can be bought at our fish market at a good price. He has connections! I am not really fond of our local salmon caviar. We like the small black caviar that our fish market imports. Small special treats for thanksgiving.
I say, go for it Anne! You look very glamorous and I am sure your sons will appreciate the fact you are feeling good, looking good and they will be delighted.
Off to attend to the dryer and make my grocery list for thanksgiving. I will follow Anne’s good example and splash on some cologne, dab on some lipstick, a run a comb through this wild angry mop I call my hair.
Who ha!

Cold early morning w/ nice sunrise over gym parking lot. THOW-BACK THURSDAY pic today was from 1957. Vacation was often a week in the cabin where our parents honeymooned back on 6/6/1932 at Otter Lake. They’d occupy the cabin alone for 1 week and the kids joined week #2. The cabin was named “U-Wan-to-Sta.” My oldest sister was already in her mid-20’s and married by then. There were 7 children. Nice memories of swimming, berry picking, fishing and catching frogs.
Today’s Hot Lunch was - Buffalo chicken burger (1/2), Broccoli, Cauliflower, Asparagus tips and side salad.
Lin – The fox is a nice touch to the pic…
Anne – so how strong was that strong Irish Tea? I just read: “The only thing better is a cup of hot tea spiked with a little something extra.” LOL https://www.thrillist.com/culture/hot-tea-with-alcohol-6-amazing-tea-and-cocktail-pairings
You’re right about our animals eating better than us… I’ll pass by items for us that I think are too expensive and then won’t buy cheaper cat food I think she won’t like or even little she isn’t familiar with. Crazy humans.
You are a confidant / brave soul… I gave up looking in the mirror without clothes a long time ago. It’s bad enough that some old man shows up in the mirror when I am shaving. Sometimes, I feel like I am reading an English novel when absorbing your posts – “The two sons phoned whilst I was doing this, one to have a moan and the other to tell me what I should be watching on my few tv channels. I told neither what I was up to…” I never did get to my reading again. Argh.
Sandy – 65 sounds wonderful…. Hoping we get a couple of those before the month is out.
Anne AGAIN – I just read about the “after dinner port wine” and might need to sample some over the holidays. I love a great port like Taylor Fladgate or Cockburn Reserve (not the kind some people drink from a brown paper bag). It has been a few years, but pairs so well with a cold winter’s night. Oh yes, and Patsy is right about being glamorous and your sons.
Patsy – Being philosophical is something that I love and often find it a great comfort in accepting a variety of issues. Alzheimer’s can be so cruel and truly not everyone can handle the care it requires. You outlined the comparison perfectly. I must say, I am very comfortable being a caregiver from cooking, giving meds or assisting with personal needs. Conversely, I hate being on the receiving end. I also have known a few people that were well-suited for the task and others that “think” they are – but don’t have the temperament. Think I will follow the example of both you and Anne and splash on some Pleasures By Estee Lauder For Men Cologne Spray – (Jean’s fav to smell on me) and pretend to have enough hair worth combing… don’t shame me, but I know linger wear lipstick.
Bye for now. Bob

Okay! I had to show off Katie with one of her favorite toys. She knows the name of it “Snoopy” and will go through her toy basket hunting for it if I ask her to go get Snoopy. I know all dogs have their own special talents but we are always amazed at what our own doggies can understand!
Patsy☘️1 -
Bob, yes I purchased Taylor Fladgate. Mary Jo's dad who was very Portuguese, i.e. Very short, very wide, very dark, very communicative and into arm waving, but alas no longer with us grew his own grapes and made his own port wine. It came out every Christmas but now if I want to have a glass after Christmas dinner I have to buy and that's what I bought, Taylor Fladgate. Read your link, obrigado, and as I don't drink coffee very much, but have boxes and boxes of Irish AND English tea I could be in for a very merry Christmas with Rudolph not the only one with a red nose.
Anne, even more poverty stricken since I paid for the order AND the frivolous stuff.
PS. I should add, I try to avoid the full Monty! I actually meant my naked face. However, Joe, the Portuguese gent mentioned earlier, not only put a bidet in the bathroom he also installed a full length mirror which is difficult to avoid. It's opposite the toilet which some visitors find uncomfortable in their reflective moments. Definitely not something a Brit would do willingly methinks! Maybe Joe had a warped sense of humour? Who knows. Shortsightedness on my part helps!.0 -

Clear skies this morning meant a drop in temperature but I was striding across the moors before 9am while George and Betty did their usual sniffing sand running. As we headed back towards the car we met a dog walker with a crazy small Spaniel and old Pug. He told me he only moved to the area in June because his previous home had been in a coastal town that had filled with visitors during our first lockdown and that had made him feel uncomfortable. Betty adored his old pug that was half her size. Am I feeding her too much I wonder? Washing went out on the line in the sunshine then my neighbour helped me put some wooden posts into the ground along the laurel hedge where the fox climbed in last year to kill my hens. I’m determined it won’t have an opportunity to do that again! Our days are so short now and by 4.30 it was so cold so back indoors to put the kettle on and throw logs on the fire.
That’s an adorable photo of Jilly Anne. She looks so content and I love the fact you are treating yourself to some little luxuries because if there’s one thing this year has taught us it’s how precious life is and we all need the occasional treat, as do our pooches!
Patsy, it must be such a relief that your son is now so busy after quieter times earlier in the year. Making your own creme fraiche sounds a brave adventure to create a special treat for John and yourself. I love it and occasionally make a pasta, apricots and pine nuts recipe which includes a dollop.
Sandy, I do hope your friend has good news after his scan but I understand it’s a worry as we get older when any sort of investigation is required.
Barbie, “The History of Toilet Paper”! I imagine Jake’s video was very interesting but then I love all aspects of history, even the more obscure!
Time for bed for me then in the morning I’ll hopefully remember to weigh myself. That’s going to be interesting!!
Jackie 😴0 -
We continue to be grateful for our health, our dogs, each other, electricity and wifi so we can enjoy our computers and TV and a room where I can dance and not disturb Jake.

This will be quick – I need to get cleaned up and head out while the sun shines!
It’s already 58 with a forecast of partly sunny, breezy and mild… so hope to get out a bit. Made todays salad, but no real idea what my main meal will be today. Gym was good this morning and switched between Rick Nelson / Little Richard music videos and HGTV.
Anne – You’re always good for a morning laugh. Excellent port choice. I probably shouldn’t drink as much coffee as I do…it’s more than the cardiologist recommends – but I drink very little alcohol, stopped 99% of processed sugar/meats etc., and a ton of other lifestyle changes and draw the line at coffee. LOL
You certainly have no reason to not enjoy a naked face – On the other hand, I still prefer the shaving cream covered look for myself.
Jackie – I never can get enough of that greenhouse… just awesome… and the resident cat is cute too!
Have a great morning everyone! Bob

Hello, my goodness, what an interesting day here on the Sneakers group yesterday. I picked a great day to be absent. Not.
It was a very busy day and everything seemed to take more time than anticipated. (Typical) I did finally accomplish the tasks of the day which required several trips in the car. That was lovely actually since the weather was so nice. I also checked in on one of my friends. The Thursday friend. She seems to be having a bit more difficulty in tracking what is going on and I did discover she has no idea I am sending her cards. Oh well. The weekly calls are probably better than cards in the mail.
Details on the visitation and funeral service for our retired pastor were shared yesterday. As expected, visitation at the funeral home, so some restrictions on numbers allowed in and masks, but funeral at our church, no limits whatsoever there. A luncheon and memorial to be held in January, also at our church, as his daughter feels things will be better then. No comment. I will not be attending. The daughter and her husband will be just out of quarantine by then.
More sad news all day long, our pastor and wife were friends with another couple who pastored a church in Oklahoma. They were long distance friends for the most part, but once a year this couple would travel to our area and stay with our pastor. We would have a few extra services and they were just grand. I always looked forward to them. Unfortunately as our church secretary called to let him know of the passing of his friend, she found out that pastor had recently passed away as well. Yes, of Covid.
We have more people testing positive in our church and extended family members. Right now, one member is very ill and has been tested, no results yet.
And there you go, Covid is real, and it is definitely spreading in all age cohorts. I am not trying to belittle people, I care for these people and am concerned for their health and safety.
Anne, enjoy Michael’s visit and I am happy you purchased the makeup and that you stocked up for days to come. And that your grocery orders continue to come on a regular basis. I love the photo of Jilly as well as the photo you are using now. So I am interested, with the advice about what you should watch on your few TV channels, did anything interest and/or surprise you? I have purchased nothing so grand as what you have stocked up. You will have a cheerful holiday indeed.
Jackie, I love the photo of Brady in your oh-so-lovely greenhouse. Yes, that is a good place to take refuge I also love the plant. Is it a lipstick plant? I have no idea but I like it. I hope your efforts to keep the Fox away are successful. Persistent animals. As are most animals I guess when I think about it.
Barbie, oh my, did you enjoy “The History of Toilet Paper”? A YouTube video? It does sound interesting.
Patsy, an adorable Katie! 🥰 And that looks like a very good toy. With you and Anne fixing yourselves up, I will admit I do put on some powder and blush when I go out which is ridiculous when I wear a mask but I do it! I don’t have lipstick but every day I use some type of lip balm to try to avoid cracked lips. No perfume either but essential oil once in a while. Haaaa, not much difference between being home and going out. I am glad your son has work to do and that you will be together on Zoom or Facebook Live for the holiday. My goodness, also making creme fraiche. Wow. John will have quite a lovely treat.
Sandy, have you heard from your friend regarding his CT scan? I hope all is well. Did you get your groceries? Plans still on for Thanksgiving? I am sure you are missing those you cannot see including your dear Daisy. I wish things could be different.
Bob, lovely pictures of the cabin. Cute kids! Great toaster and wow, Corn Flakes and milk. Definitely 1950’s breakfast fare. I am very sorry Jean’s peanut butter is out of stock. My goodness, I understand I think, my daily almond yogurt went out of stock for a period of time and I was busy ordering from any store that carried that brand hoping someone would have a supply. I ended up with a different type of yogurt that was horrible and I ended up unable to eat it even if I mixed it with applesauce. So 🤞🏻 that it will be available soon and that the current jar is not empty.
Well, I had better run. I am sure ai have missed many things and others have posted since I started this.🤣😂
Best wishes.

This morning I missed the last few posts after mine yesterday and the gorgeous Katie. Patsy you do an amazing job on her coat so she looks professionally groomed!
Difficult to ever get George looking smart, mostly because when he ‘s not digging holes he’s splashing in mucky puddles. This was this morning when I stayed in the paths because it was foggy!
I was glad of my waterproofs and the dogs new towel coats were put to good use when we returned to the car.
The rest of my morning was spent making a bean casserole and large pot of leek and sweet potato soup. Disappointing that I seem to have run out of nutmeg but wasn’t going to drive into town for just the one item and my neighbours were out so no scrounging either!
I’ve spent time this afternoon shopping online for a couple of warm knitted tops from a shop I usually visit in Plymouth. Our lockdown restricts going anywhere for what’s deemed non essential so I didn’t bother to check if they have remained open for click and collect but instead opted for delivery by post. Turned out it was free because I spent so much! 🤭
Lin the plant you can see in the greenhouse is a Fuchsia known as a Triphylla which is tropical so tender. My dad always grew them in his garden but took cuttings in the Autumn and would post one on to me. I’ve not been successful taking cuttings so have popped the plant into the greenhouse with crossed fingers. It’s surrounded by shorter geraniums to keep it company!
Good to see you’ve got your long trousers out Bob although sounds warm enough in your area for another outing for your shorts!
I’ll check the BBC news for any updates on Canadian restrictions Anne. I know your resilience will get you through a strict lockdown as long as you’ve got a selection of books to be read, oh yes and a bottle of decent port!! 🙃😉. Our infection numbers are dropping again which is promising although I think we all know the New Year will bring higher rates after Christmas gatherings. Plans are being put into place for tests with rapid results to be introduced into our care homes so residents can receive visitors so that’s a thoughtful step forward.
Oh gosh, time to prepare my evening meal. I’m hoping the casserole beans are cooked because they are the dried sort, soaked overnight.
Hello to everyone I’ve missed. Happy and safe Friday to you all.
Jackie 🥰
Too long to spell check!!

All this lockdown time has helped get even more clear on what I consider "essential". Making choices intentionally rather than just by what I "want" at the moment has served me well. It is fortunate that I have reduced my "wants" to so few.
I can't remember all the dog names, but the photos are so adorable. I just want to hug them, but since we don't pet other people's dogs and they don't pet ours, looking at photos is and especially great treat.
Bob I feel Jean's pain about her peanut butter. For the first months of the pandemic, I couldn't get the grind it yourself kind at my store and had to settle for a brand in a jar that was made just with peanuts but it wasn't the same.
I'm planning to dance for an hour this morning in the dance room with the door closed while Jake participates in a Zoom meeting on his computer. Then he is in charge of lunch.
