NSV's

I am getting compliments from co-workers and a few questions as to what I am eating.
My Mom's friend sent me a private message on FB asking for details of my "diet"...lol.9 -
I just realized I haven had a migraine in two months! Started Keto in March. Used to have 1-2 migraines a month related to my cycle.15

I went to a work BBQ yesterday evening (yes, thank you, it rained cats 'n' dogs. That's traditional at a UK BBQ) and I ate, teo burgers, two sausages and a thin fillet of chicken, followed by a portion of strawberries, blueberries and raspberries smothered in thick cream.
I offered a similar dessert (it had a meringue 'nest' holding everything up) and she declined explaining "I can't, I'm on a Low Carb..."
I interrupted - "..High Fat/Protein Way of Eating.... right?"
She was ecstatic to finally find someone who was on the same page as her! She nearly whooped for joy!
She too has had to endure the familiar 'nay-sayers' remarks from colleagues, friends and relatives, that we have all, at one moment or another, been subjected to...
We sat and talked for about an hour. She's taken to a 'strict' Atkins regimen, but she agreed that she would never go back to the way she used to eat. She wants to lose 14lbs by the end of August. I told her "EEEEASY!! Stick with it, avoid/severely limit all carbs, and go by how you feel and look, as well as your weight on the scales."
I think she thought she had finally found a soulmate! TBH, she's not really huge or heavy - but she really wants to do this, and is more determined than ever. When I advised her to go by how she felt and looked, she admitted the trousers she was wearing were more loose than they had ever been.
So glad to have had a great talk with her. She feels less alone now. I gave her my number, in case she wants to text me....

Alex, that is so cool. LCHF taking over the UK, one person at a time.4

Getting ready for work this morning and noticed via mirror... my side-back "roll" is close to completely disappearing! Yeah!...take that scale numbers!6

My daughter used to delight in walking up to me and jiggling my belly - which was always kind of a poochy baby belly even at a healthy weight...she tried to do it the other night and informed me that she can't, no more jiggly belly for me!!!16

I've been on a work retreat for 2 days. I've been presented with cookies, pastries, chocolate, bread and criossants, desserts, potatoes and loads of alcohol - I have passed on all of it. It's been hard declining and not caving to social pressures to drink and party.. and to have Co-workers wave cookies in my face and laugh at me . I've been asked.. "you won't have one indulgence. .. not one thing? " and I simply say no.
I don't want to get into sugar addiction or food conversations or arguements with them.
But I do consider it a victory to get thru all of this cleanly and not cheat. No coworkers will get it. But here I'm sure folks will!

For me the NSV's have been: Better Sleep (no more snoring), Acid Reflux gone & More Energy than in a long time.3
-
My NSV is that in getting back to Keto, I notice the food cravings are gone, my mood is better, more energy for living the good life. And, by feeling less out of control, I just like myself better.
I know also, that in time my body will look better, I'll fit back into my summer clothes pretty soon, and that is all good.8 -
Easily doing yoga postures I haven't been able to do correctly for a long time because of the extra weight. Priceless.8

I had the nerve to ask out a guy I've been crushing on for nearly 13 years today. He said a very enthusiastic yes. Loving the confidence this new figure of mine is bringing me! WOOT!18

A while back there was a thread about insulin resistance causing skin tags, and going LCHF could prevent and sometimes shrink them. I read this with a grain of salt. As I am not diabetic, but I have had to have skin tags removed, I did keep this in the back of my mind.
So this AM while showering, I remembered I had a large skin tag about 1/4 in long in a place the general public can not see. I had a hard time locating it and I know where it is, I've had it for YEARS. There is barely a slight rise where that monster used to be.
So my NSV for today, is having a major skin tag reduced to almost nothing, and I am not done yet with this WOE.18 -
Jonesing for some really off-plan food and I was about to go out and eat it, but I refrained. I'm not hungry, so why would I eat? And why especially would I eat something so carby???? Feeling a mixture of powerful and internally torn asunder right now because I still really want it but I won't allow myself...Not worth it.12

Met my body fat goal - not exactly sure how many years it has taken me but 20% here I am. Now I need a new goal!15

I have utilized my pool more so far this summer than since I moved into the house 6 years ago. I am comfortable in my swim shorts and tankini tops around family and friends.17

I can tie my apron in the front14

I was doing some deep closet spelunking the other day and found an old hoodie that to my eyes, looked just tiny.
The size was only XL, and I thought no way it'd fit but I figured I'd try it on to get a feel for how long before I might be able to actually wear it.
It fit! Comfortably.
As an aside, I think I've given up on trying to comprehend sizing. This XL fits, that 3XL is tight, the other 3XL is baggy, these 2XL are loose, those 3XL are comfortable... no rhyme or reason to it.11 -
New NSV. Its been awhile since i first lost weight and the NSV's were flowing effortlessly. A year of struggling with maintenance and 25% regain really dampened my spirits and...no NSV's.
Now, I'm going for broke, back on Keto due to this idea of reconnecting to my late father via an old rivalry he and I had when I was a teenager. We would race to lose 10 pounds.
Once I won a trip to NYC, once a pair of way cool, lace-up, brown suede, high heeled hippie boots (wowza!) and once a really cool hat I loved and still have.
He died three years ago and part of me wasn't ready, due to grief, to have him in my mind very much until recently when I decided to do this with him. I love it, I'm going to win again, and trust he will provide my reward via the time space continuum. I know just what i want.
I've missed him, and have taken some big time, painful life hits this year. Having him back in this familiar way is like a balm for my spirit.
Totally my Fave NSV of all! Even better than the actual weight loss. I know he is luving it, too.

I know, right...? Some time ago, I managed to get into size 10 (UK) jeans, and a size 12 were too tight. But from a different store. I wish retail would get its act together....
I have been wearing the same bracelet on my right wrist for over 10 years (a gift from my hubby). It fell off over my hand this morning, in the shower... And my watch keeps spinning round, so that the face is on my inner wrist, palm side, instead of on the back of my hand....The store can't make reduce the clasp any further.....

I don't think this is a "victory" - As I was spending a lot of time sitting in the car today, I realized how painful my tailbone gets when I don't have a lot of padding under it.8

I have noticed this for myself too. I have not put the tape measure to my waist since 5/1, and I checked tonight. I am down 5.25 in. I knew I was dropping sizes in my jeans/khakis, but it is nice to see it on the tape measure.8 -
My NSV is my wedding ring and engagement rings finally fit. Haven't been able to wear them for over a year. And my skin is so much brighter I wear way less makeup. Someone I recently met thought I was in my mid 20's and I'm 38. Woo hoo!!14

It was a happy day when my wedding band fit again @urbansmamma ! Good for you!4

Awesome!
And when it becomes too big, may I suggest clear UV gel nail polish as a sizing agent. Lol
