Howdy again y'all. Headache is still lurking but kicked back some by some of the usual OTC chemicals. 79 out there now with an expected high of 88 and 30% chance of rain, along with a warning to prepare for strong storms.

Might yet go back to bed again, but we'll see...
    Hi Ed
Good Luck with the headache. I worry about taking to many OTC headache pills FWIW.
Howdy y'all. It's wonderful Wednesday! 69 out there now, with an expected high of 88 and 80% chance of storms.

Lilo and I have been fed and the sink is cleared. Leaving soon for the auto dealer to have the AC fan replaced.

    Whee!
predicted high of 90 and worse tomorrow. The THI AKA Heat Index is forecast for 100 today :)

Good Luck with a speedy and inexpensive repair.

    Hi! Finally here.
I guess Roger that GA is not that far behind you...I don't know if we can kill rats or not, probably not squirrels, and I know for sure snakes, only if they are poisonous. Yet we are not allowed to keep backyard chickens in my county...
They do make hoses nozzles that are motion activated..maybe if you nearly drowned the little devils?
    Hi Valerie
I would like to do more than than nearly drown the Tree Rats :)
Ed, hope that headache has subsided. Loved the cat pix...some of them are going to be emailed to Ted on Caterday!
And speaking of Saturday...I was in Decatur today to see my Chiro...and then proceeded to drive on to Whole Foods for a head of Frisee Lettuce, and some of the Fried Tofu...and realized there was a Tesla behind me...and I next saw her parking near me in the shopping center...when she got out of her white Tesla, I remarked that I loved her car...and the conversation began...long story short we're getting together Saturday after my hair appointment so I can ride in her Tesla!!! I am super excited! AND as I was leaving WF without any Frisse or fried tofu, (boy was that a let down...they had neither) I was passed by a black Tesla that 'escorted me' to the interstate!! LOL!! It was Tesla day!!!!
Enjoy the Ride, and Sorry that You could not get the foods You wanted.
Lunch was so late the I am just now eating my dinner. And I am so tired of sitting....my niece is in Europe and posted 60+ pix this evening..and a friend from another NS group and I have kept in touch over the years, and she and her hubs are doing a motorcycle tour thru the SW..so then there were those pix and video's....oh, and I rocked the furry baby for over an hour...needless to say my step count today is deplorable!
Lucky tomorrow is shopping day, so I will be making up a few steps.

    Later...
There is always the next day for the steps :)
I am not doing good today either as I had a very poor nights sleep. I have hopes for at least a power nap and a good nights sleep.

    Have a Good Day Shopping

    Good Morning...its Wednesday!
Summer is in full bloom! Humidity and Heat. Yep, summer in GA.
Roger I'm sure you would like to do more to those tree rats...and I can't see why anyone would blame you for it. But guess laws are what they are.....

I've unloaded the dishwasher, and the clothes dryer, folded clothes, cleared sink into the dishwasher, fed Tom E., ran the sweeper, and am finishing up my cup of decaf... I don't know where this burst of early morning, non caffeinated energy came from...but its all good!

Wonder how Ed's headache is, and his car repair is going...hopefully he'll let us know this afternoon.

I think only one grocery store today, Publix, to take advantage of the senior discount. The rest I can pick up tomorrow or Friday at Kroger. I have plenty of greens, etc. so my shopping list is for at least one days menu of grilled corn, peppers, and onions, with Portabella mushrooms sliced and grilled. That and the onion and peppers make a great tortilla filling, and corn is corn! I could, and sometimes do eat that twice a week!

I think getting dressed, moving washed clothes to empty dryer, and my Publix run should happen rather soon...as previously mentioned its Summer in GA, and there is the constant threat of either heat of the day showers, or flat out thunderstorms!

    Later...

    Hi Valerie
To many people think that they are cute and since they have not experienced their destructiveness they gnaw the heck out of wood too.

One of Ed's headaches is the car repair along with the one Aspirin can cure :)

Probably Tomorrow I will run to CostCo, Two flavors of the Protein Shakes, Bananas, Whatever fruit looks good and some bags of frozen vegetables...

Speaking of Thunderstorms We had one roll through yesterday afternoon with a brief period of heavy rain and then it cleared up and all was dry by 7PM. During the the t-storm the lights flickered twice and their was a loud AC Hum from a nearby transformer. Whether a wire dropped and caused a short or lightening hit a wire I do not know. I was just glad the power stayed on.

    Have a Nice Day

Well, the remainder of the car was right at $900. Still something else wrong that hasn't been fixed yet, but they'll have to figure out what it is some other time...maybe not until next month.

    Hi
I did some walking for an hour+ and 1 cent , The temperature this morning was 79 on the news channel and 77 degrees on the front porch. The humidity is very high, They were forecasting the humidity to be tropical for today, Tomorrow should be cooler.

The car inspection, Oil Change and work on the Windshield wipers came to $175, Now I am good for the next two years for the inspection.

Found this elsewhere and thought it worth sharing.
    Good thoughts to ponder
If you're not familiar with the work of Steven Wright, he's the famous Erudite (comic) scientist who once said: "I woke up one morning, and all of my stuff had been stolen and replaced by exact duplicates."
His mind sees things differently than most of us do. . . here are some of his gems:
    1 - I'd kill for a Nobel Peace Prize.
2 - Borrow money from pessimists -- they don't expect it back.
3 - Half the people you know are below average.
4 - 99% of lawyers give the rest a bad name.
5 - 82.7% of all statistics are made up on the spot.
6 - A conscience is what hurts when all your other parts feel so good.
7 - A clear conscience is usually the sign of a bad memory.
8 - If you want the rainbow, you got to put up with the rain.
9 - All those who believe in psychokinesis, raise my hand.
10 - The early bird may get the worm, but the second mouse gets the cheese.
11 - I almost had a psychic girlfriend, ...... But she left me before we met.
12 - OK, so what's the speed of dark?
13 - How do you tell when you're out of invisible ink?
14 - If everything seems to be going well, you have obviously overlooked something.
15 - Depression is merely anger without enthusiasm.
16 - When everything is coming your way, you're in the wrong lane.
17 - Ambition is a poor excuse for not having enough sense to be lazy.
18 - Hard work pays off in the future; laziness pays off now.
19 - I intend to live forever... So far, so good.
20 - If Barbie is so popular, why do you have to buy her friends?
21 - Eagles may soar, but weasels don't get sucked into jet engines.
22 - What happens if you get scared half to death twice?
23 - My mechanic told me, "I couldn't repair your brakes, so I made your horn louder."
24 - Why do psychics have to ask you for your name.
25 - If at first you don't succeed, destroy all evidence that you tried.
26 - A conclusion is the place where you got tired of thinking.
27 - Experience is something you don't get until just after you need it.
28 - The hardness of the butter is proportional to the softness of the bread.
29 - To steal ideas from one person is plagiarism; to steal from many is research.
30 - The problem with the gene pool is that there is no lifeguard.

33 - Everyone has a photographic memory; some just don't have film.
34 - If at first you don't succeed, skydiving is not for you.
    And the all-time favorite -
35 - If your car could travel at the speed of light, would your headlights work?

A 37-year-old store clerk in Chicago got the second chance of a lifetime when an armed robber entered his south side store, pointed a gun at him and pulled the trigger.
The Chicago Tribune reports that at about 3:50 p.m on July 5, 2017, an armed suspect walked into the store on the 8400 block of South Cottage Grove Avenue in an attempted robbery. The suspect pointed his gun at the store clerk, but when he pulled the trigger, his gun jammed.
    http://www.chicagotribune.com/news/local/breaking/ct-police-armed-robbery-thwarted-by-victims-who-hold-suspect-for-police-20170705-story.html
A friend of the clerk’s spoke to reporters after the incident, saying his friend was “seconds away from a different outcome.”
“The guy didn’t come in there to rob him, he came in to kill him and then rob him. He pointed the gun and pulled the trigger and it jammed. The clerk snatched the gun from him.”
The clerk and a co-worker were able to subdue the suspect and secure the firearm until police arrived on scene.
The clerk was treated at Advocate Trinity Hospital for cuts and bruises. Police say he was taken there in fair condition.
Charges are pending against the 20-year-old suspect.

Ouch, $900 and more to come. Did the repairs fix the flickering?

    Howdy y'all. It's thrilling Thursday!

75 out there now with an expected high of 91 and 20% chance of rain.

The occasional ding happened once yesterday, and the flicker too. Still think it may be related to the AC but haven't had a cool enough day to test that thoroughly. I'm going to see about taking it back next week and ask them to check the belts and ALL fluids, transmission, brake, steering, etc.

I forced a diagnostic of the instrument cluster and it seemed to run just fine. Before I bring it back to the dealer I may also clean the battery terminals just in case there's some corrosion that I can't see. But not right this second...

    Hi Again
I'm sorry to hear that the intermittent problem is still there.

THI AKA feels like temperature in the forecast for today of 100 degrees :(

I have not turned on the AC in the car yet this year, Hopefully it is working...
I manage that by handling the heat with a low sugar, low carb diet that helps and getting out early. Tomorrow I will run to CostCo vs Today as when I looked I had enough frozen vegetables for today. And for that run I plan to be there ahead of opening around 9:45AM, often they open the doors a little early so...

Today I picked up three bananas at the Grocery store, 1 apple and 2 nectarines so I am covered that way for a couple of days too.

Have a Nice Day, Stay Comfortable

    Hey
First went to 'donate' 2 GI Joe tubes of blood, and 2 purple tops...Nice of me, right! LOL! I don't know why they wanted that either as my appointment was a follow up blood pressure visit???
Then went to Costco to put gas in my car...on to Kroger for the ears of corn I intend to eat tonite with dinner (impulse buy was a pineapple which I will turn several times a day until it looks and smells ripe..then it will go on the grill!) ...and back to Costco (it wasn't open yet when I got the gas.) They (Costco) did not have the Turmeric from youtheroy that I wanted...home and ordered my Turmeric from Amazon, cooked my Quinoa and kidney beans, chopped my veggies for my salad...
Watched all of the video's that were posted this morning. :)
Ed, I really don't know if the Veg cheese would be good for making Welsh Rarebit. Which he called Welsh RABBIT... You'll have to try making it and see if it works. I first remember making Welsh Rarebit in high school class, and was corrected on how to say it!!!! Tastes good no matter what you call it.!

Steven Wright...I hadn't thought of him in years...his stuff was hilarious...funny to read, and funnier with his delivery! I also think since you have a ready supply Roger you paint your menu on your car (no not really) and sell fricassee of Squirrel, and anything else that eats berries...like turtles, as well as the rabbits...possibly even rats, though I think that rat stew would be a hard sell!! LOL!

Ok, while I'm about getting stuff done...I think I'll drive over to Honda and let them change the oil..it dropped to 40% oil life 2 days ago...I still think its wrong, but I'm all for cleaning my plate today of all the odd chores...

    Later...

How Bad is Crime in Chicago? Police Search for 6-Year-Old Armed Robbery Suspect
Posted at 2:25 pm on July 12, 2017 by Jenn Jacques
If you thought Chicago’s gun problem couldn’t possibly get any more insane, you’re not going to believe this story.

On Saturday, July 8, 2017, Chicago Police issued an incredulous community alert from detectives warning Near South Side residents of an unlikely robbery crew of suspects that includes “a 6- to 8-year-old boy” armed with a silver handgun.
The suspects committed at least 11 armed robberies in June in which they traveled in groups of 3-9 armed robbers and approached victims; either demanding valuables or taking property by force before fleeing the scene.

Gorka Tells CNN Anchor: Russia Coverage Explains Why Cartoons Now Beat You in Ratings
Last week Matt reported that CNN is in a ratings battle with Nick-at-Nite - and losing. Seriously. A recent study showed that CNN had plummeted to No. 13 in the 8-11 p.m. time slot.

Sebastian Gorka, deputy assistant to President Trump, was happy to come on CNN and share that information with anchor Alisyn Camerota on Wednesday.

White House Advisor @SebGorka: Nickelodeon’s Nick at Night gets more evening views than CNN. https://t.co/xHbtxumPCf
    — NTK Network (@NTKNet) July 11, 2017

A big reason that viewers are abandoning the network, studies suggest, is that CNN has been obsessed with all things Russia. Heck, the network mentioned Russia almost 16,000 times in their coverage since the inauguration.

“The amount of time you spend in desperation on a topic that has plummeted you to 13th place in viewership ranking across America,” Gorka told Camerota. “I mean more people watch Nick-at-Nite cartoons than CNN today.”
"Our ratings are just fine," Camerota pushed back, arguing that her network has polling to suggest Americans are very interested in the Russia story.
Again, Gorka pointed out the stats - CNN was in the 13th spot, and Nick-at-Nite was at No. 11.
CNN had a terrible week last week. First, producers and anchors were exposed by Project Veritas for intentionally reporting on Russian collusion despite it being "mostly bulls***" and a "nothing burger," while also calling American "stupid as s***" and calling Trump a "f***ing crazy clown." Then, the network also threatened to expose the Reddit user who created the now infamous gif of President Trump body slamming the network.

    Have a Great Thursday
