Hi
Somewhat colder when I was walking this morning, I could see my breath once the sky started lightening up, in the 40s in a nearby town. Not uncomfortable however as there was no breeze.
Cheers

I've been up for nearly 5 hours...busy. Have a project going, more on that another day. Except to say I'm excited about it!! I have had breakfast, Cats too...except for a lot of reading, printing, etc..,.my only tangible accomplishments for this morning.
Ed.....Baked Fettuccine Eduardo, now that sounds very interesting! How was it? What did you do to make it 'your own'?
Roger, 3 cents...hmmmm. We need to think up a plan to increase your profits!! LOL!!
I need to get some reading done, and plan a lunch! I'm just about hungry!

Baked Fettuccine Eduardo
1 package (12 oz) fettuccine noodles.
1 pound Kroger Nice and Cheesy queso blanco with jalapeños, cut or broken into small cubes or pieces.
The rest of that package of shredded Italian cheese mix in the fridge. Maybe a cup?
Two (2) slices of deluxe American cheese
1 1/2 cups or so milk
Preheat oven to 350 while cooking the noodles, according to package directions.
Turn the burner down to low, put the drained noodles back in the pan, and put the noodles back on the burner, with the milk and cheeses.
Stir until all the cheeses are melted and the sauce looks nice and creamy.
Pour the noodles and sauce into a greased 9x13x2 baking dish. Bake, covered, 45 minutes. Uncover and bake an additional 15 minutes or until browned to your satisfaction on top.
Remove from oven and let stand for 10 to 15 minutes before serving.
It would probably have been fine baking for 30 covered and then 15 uncovered, but I like it the way it came out.
Hi Ed
Interesting recipe, OTOH it does sound high calorie.
I tend to like things like to be crispy around the edges too.
Have a Good Day

ED I see is in fine form today!! I've never quite seen anyone express getting a flu shot in those terms. I hope you get a good little 'injection specialist' (why not, everything else these days...), anyhow my shot on Monday I really didn't feel. It was my surprise on Tuesday in the shower when there was 'something' on my arm...bandaid? ahaaa, yes from the flu shot. Never a sore moment etc.
Roger,...hope this is a high dollar day for you! And that the skies in NJ are clear and the temps moderate!
For now, I have to get started toward the shower....its massage day, a gift from my DS1 and DIL from my birthday. And since I'll be at the Forum, I'm sure lunch and shopping will also be involved. Funny how that all happens!

Hi Again

Good Friday Morning!
Up early this morning, not sure why!!
Nothing concrete on my schedule today. I do want to do a couple of things, put down some weed preventer, make a Whole Foods run. (trying to decide....here or in Midtown) and I need to drop off some stuff at Goodwill. We'll see what actually gets done!
Hope everyone has a great day....and see you later...0 -
Howdy y'all. It's fabulous Friday! Supposed to be a very nice day. I'll be working the closing tonight so might be able to get a nap in before then. Right now working on breakfast. Lilo has been fed so she is sitting on my desk, being decorative.

Howdy y'all. It's sensational Saturday! Lilo let me sleep in today and it was nearly 9 when I got up! Waiting for my lamb chops to finish broiling so I can have breakfast. Today we have to do orchid judging photography and pride is supposed to be happening at the adjacent park. Parking and traffic may be serious issues...

Hello!
Nearly bedtime, and I'm just now getting here.
Up early, went to Nate's hockey game, then Whole Foods, home in time to unload and put away groceries, eat a salad and head out to meet M at sb. Home again, dishwasher running, and still have dinner to eat!!! My day has been truly non stop.
I did think of Roger, as I was leaving sb in the rain, right next to my car was a many times run over penny, you know the ones with the rough edges..and in the rain I sure did pick it up!!! Some habits die hard, and some day I might need that beat up ole penny!!
Ed...I hope you didn't have a long long walk to get to the gardens... Ted called me earlier in the week to tell me not to come near the park. He's on 8th street at Myrtle, and I can't get there, and he can't dare leave his parking spot. Just getting thru traffic lights can be 'fun' with all the pedestrians!
See everyone in the morning

Howdy y'all. It's scintillating Sunday! Supposed to be quite a nice day, which beats yesterday's off and on showers. On the other hand, though pride looked quite busy (we walked down briefly, just to see, after our photography), we had no difficulty getting parking at the garden. But then we got there an hour early too and our room for the judging wasn't quite ready yet, so we had to lurk out under a tree while we waited.
Had some nice Indian food for dinner before we came home and then took a short nap before feeding the sugar gliders and going on to bed.
I'm working a short closing tonight so hope to get in a nap with Lilo somewhere in the day.

Good Sunday Morning!
Glad parking wasn't an issue Ed....sounds like you had a good day. I managed to always just get home, into the car, etc before the rains fell. BUT...sometime last night I gained another ¾ inch rain??? Holy cow!
My day off to a better start today...thank goodness.
Roger, hope you had a great walk, I'd bet more than street change that people who see you walking have noticed your weight loss! I am sure I've shared the story about the Indian guy in NJ who walked same neighborhood and everyone noticed how he was 'disappearing'!! Which is a LONG way around to saying congrats on the 3 bags of donated clothes!!! Fantastic!!
Ok, off to get my day on the right track.

Hi
I walked today, 12 cents too
It was 36 degrees in a nearby town, Somerville NJ. The weather forecast is for it to double that temperature for a Daytime high today.
2015 Weekend Journey through the Past
http://www.co.somerset.nj.us/schistoryweekend/
I will most likely be heading here later today and talking to Francine.
http://www.co.somerset.nj.us/schistoryweekend/pdf/2015 Participating Historic Sites.pdf
On the walk I took a new route for part of it and flexed part of my breakfast. This is what I did
White Castle Breakfast slider w/ Bacon, Egg, Cheese:
Serving Size 84g, 210 Calories, Protein 1g, Fat12g, Total Carb 13g, Sodium510 mg, Fat Calories 110, Sat Fat 5g, Trans Fat 0g, Cholesterol 180mg, Dietary Fiber 1g, Sugars 2g
From Here: http://www.nutrition-charts.com/white-castle-nutrition-facts-calorie-information/
Then I sat down and removed most of the Bread from the top of the bun, put the Egg, Cheese & Bacon on what was left of the Bun, And threw away the bottom of the bun and ate it as a open face sandwich. I am thinking removing 2/3rds of the bun that way brought the calorie down pretty good. It was the first White Castle anything since the end of 2013 too.
I think that was a fairly successful Flex?
Then I had My banana and a NutriSystem Strawberry Protein Shake when I got home from the Produce store.
I picked up 1 Lettuce for me and two for my Brother, And for him some nice White Mushrooms, a Zuchinni, 4 Cortland Apples and a box of cherry tomatoes. That 10 Pounds 12 ounces total weight of the backpack & Contents, It sure felt heavy heading home from there too. Hard to believe I used to carry a lot more everywhere
Have a Nice Sunday

HI Again
I think You have had enough rain. It may be time to do the reverse rain dance to drive the rains away.
You did indeed share that story about the Indian fellow.
I have had some comments during my walks. One Young lady said looking good for example. The main problem with going out later walking is that I see different people. Oh well, There is always next year.
I also had one fellow come up an thank me for how helpful I was when I was working.
Have a Good Day

Roger and I are taking turns at being confusing! LOL
sb = Star Bucks. Sorry... M and I have one equidistance from our homes...so its a good place to sit and chat, and enjoy a drink. I only get a tall black coffee..so not too much more than what you're paying, and because its afternoon chats, I don't need a lot more caffeine.
Now, 99% sure when Roger typed "I also had one fellow come up an thank me for how helpful I was when I was working" he meant Walking????...or have you taken on a job Rog? It just kinda made me giggle, as if walking and picking up coins was a new job!!! But, man the pay is lousy!!! LOL!!

Good Monday Morning
I don't know why I got up at 6:15...its still dark out til nearly 7:30, I have chores, but no real pressing plans. Hmmm.
Hope everybody survived the weekend.
I had a conference call scheduled yesterday that I needed to listen to...it was supposed to be a 2 hour event. At hour 4 I dropped off. Got the email this morning with a recorded link....that sucker went on for 8, yes EIGHT, hours. Its a psychology of eating thingy, and comes with a national study that will be ongoing for 5 years. So, now I'm 'obligated' to live til at least 77!!! LOL!
And yesterdays call was atypical, and most of the last 5 or 6 hours was Q&A. So going forward my Sunday calls should only be 2 hours! (I sure hope).
Right now, I think before Breakfast I'd like a second cup of coffee!

Hi
Somewhat warmer than Yesterday during my walk & 2 Cents, Still cold overnight in the 40s due to the clear sky, That is also why it is warming up quickly with the sun up now.
Went to an Event Yesterday.
We were out of the house for 2 3/4 hours as it was nearby. It turned out to be not so much of a walking thing as that they were using rooms in the house with tours. House goes back before the revolutionary war, George Washington spent on season there and there were 10,000 troops in the surrounding area. A Talk at the start, Then a 4 horse race with Stick horses You could bet on using replica money they provided. A Demonstration of a dance from then that everybody participated in. Another talk where we all threw dice to see what Job we would have had, My Luck Hessian Prisoner. Then free Root Beer or bottled water in the tavern room with assorted games of the period.
Have a Good Monday

Hi Valerie
You guessed it, I did mean walking with the looking good, and I was also walking when I was thanked for how I was when I was working. Is that confusing enough?
SBs must be cheaper by you then, I wandered into one for a large black coffee and thought it was expensive for only coffee, Not even cream or sugar.
Hey the pay may be lousy but better than nothing.............

Hi Again
I have been getting up later myself now that I am not trying to beat the heat. When I went out the door at 6:47 the sky was getting lighter to the East, Not a cloud up there in the sky either.
I have been on Web/phone conferences in the past for work. The Web part was for the presentation part and You were on the phone for Q&A so both at the same time. You are more patient than me listening for 4 hours
Have a Good Day

Howdy y'all. It's marvelous Monday! Off work today, but we have Orchid Society. I've purchased the cheese and crackers and summer sausage and I'm donating two small pudding cakes, with almonds, that I bought after work last night off the "Oops! We Overbaked!" rack on the cheap. I hope they eat them all up. I've never tasted an almond pudding cake before, so may even try a tiny sliver of that myself. The last time I brought a cake it was a leftover full sized Easter cake with very bright, coconut icing. They ate every crumb. So I have an expectation that this cake will be consumed.
People haven't been brining the sweets like they used to and sometimes just about all the food there is the meat, cheese and crackers that I bring. So if I don't add in something sweet for them, it just isn't there. I think the president needs to remind them that the hospitality chair and helper (I'm the helper) aren't supposed to bring in EVERYTHING but that members can bring stuff too. The chair brings the coffee and sodas. I buy the main savory snacks, since I work at a grocery and get a discount, and get some reimbursement for that, and we do have a contribution jar for people to drop money in.
Whatever is left at the end of the calendar year, from the contributions and the budget for hospitality, goes toward the Christmas ham for the group's holiday party, and if there's STILL some left, after paying for a Honeybaked ham (Frankly, I could just buy a Kroger spiral sliced honey ham for a lot less and warm it up but no one asks me...) then it can pay for some more paper plates, napkins, plasticware, coffee, creamer, and sweetener. We don't have much of a budget for hospitality and depend on people bringing stuff in to supplement AND people making cash donations to supplement the limited budget.

Good Tuesday Morning, the clock is chiming '8"...
I've been up for awhile, and its not time yet for breakfast, so I thought I'd show up here! HI!!!!
Soggy Georgia!!! Maybe Ed knows, I've not seen any references as to how much rain we've had this year, and how far above (surely) we are from normal. It rained, no it stormed last night. And either I've grown a new ear, or it was right on top of me, cuz it woke me up, twice. I had to sorta giggle to myself, as I never hear storms...so it was fun that I did.
Today I have to go to the grocery..someplace. I am out of lettuces. ARG!!
Other than that, I'm waiting for them to roll out my lottery numbers for tonite. I think I could enjoy a bit of travel, and fun with $74M.

Howdy y'all. It's terrific Tuesday! Working a long middle today and not really looking forward to it. Some days you just don't feel like it.
Society meeting went fairly well, even though I found out late in the day that the hospitality chair wasn't coming at all (no coffee!) and that if I didn't bring beverages, there wouldn't be any. Fortunately I had most of a case of bottled water so I grabbed that and brought it along and people could drink that with their snacks. It worked out well. There were a couple of grocery stores along the way we could have stopped at, if necessary, but it was easier not to.

Good Wednesday Morning!
54 on my porch as the sun begins to shine thru the trees. Will warm fairly rapidly today and by weekend predictions are for high 40's in ATL. it was 69 in the house, and I was cold. Gonna be a long winter.
Heading out for the grocery to do the rest of my shopping, then a mad dash to ATL to get my hair cut, and home, late lunch, and phone chat with DS1. Should keep me busy and out of trouble!!!

Howdy y'all. It's wonderful Wednesday! Need to get my bulbs planted this afternoon, but I have to wait until the sun goes behind the house so it's not shining on me when I do it.
A friend gave me a 50 bulb wildflower collection as a wedding present. With my old hips and such it will be fun planting them. I did say she was a friend, didn't I? Then why isn't she over here planting them? Hehe.
I COULD wait a little bit further into the fall, but I think it's the right time now.
Other than that, Lilo thinks I should take a nap today.
I've been up for a while but distracted by various things, including a delicious chicken dinner for breakfast. Last night I made a simple dinner of baked chicken breast, instant noodles (chicken flavored), peas and carrots, but made plenty for two meals. The second meal warmed up for a nice, easy breakfast, with just the right amount of noodles for both meals. Well, OK, I'd have LOVED more noodles but I didn't NEED more noodles. It was about two carb servings per meal of noodles so that worked out just right for what I'm supposed to be eating, and it was enough to satisfy. This is one way of taking a grocery store package of instant noodles and making it fit the plan. Divide and conquer!
My boss informed me she is quitting (doctor's orders!) at the end of the month. This isn't really a major surprise and I've seen it coming for a while, but she didn't want to talk about it until yesterday. My name was first on everyone's lips as replacement, even though I had been saying all along I don't really want to work full time. I have to admit the little bit more money and the somewhat more regular working hours are appealing, but if I choose the opening shift (I can take opening or middle) the extremely early rising hours are appalling.
I told them I'd consider it but told them to be fair and consider a young lady who is also working there, though she may not have enough time on board to be considered. I definitely have seniority and if I want the job, it's mine. They will be talking to to the young lady today to see how she would feel about the situation either way. So I'll either be lead fuel clerk or backup lead fuel clerk.
I need to win the lottery so I don't even have to work.

I think I'll make baked fettuccine Eduardo again tonight.
I did get out a little while ago and got ALL the bulbs planted, and then came in and took a shower. I was pondering whether I needed to eat anything after all that work and then received a Mrs. Fields cookie sample in the mail, that I had completely forgotten about requesting, since it was three or four months ago at least. At any rate, I ate that since I felt I had earned at least a cookie. I did give J one big bite of it.

The fettuccine came out delicious! And Malbec was the perfect wine to accompany it.0

Good Thursday Morning!
Yesterday was a disaster, nothing huge, just stuff! Food choices were OK, I fixed a horrid breakfast, which sorta set the tone for the day. One thing, tripped over another, until starving hungry I started home, and I get this message from my car,...it was only telling me I needed an oil change, but it comes with a little tiny orange wrench which scared the pooh out of me, not cool on I-85! Home finally I was trying to get my lunch eaten when DS1 called at 4pm. All in all, lunch and dinner were pretty much a swap, I went to my Honda dealers website to see if I needed an appointment for an oil change...well, live chat latter, being assured I needed one, and I'd get a call from the mechanical team, and to this hour, I've not heard a word. Today, I'm going to make a bank run to deposit some odd checks, and then I'm just gonna show up at the dealers...this is ridiculous.
Sorry to be so long with my petty little 'itches'...none of it really earth shaking or life threatening...just, like a little itch, irritating as hell!!!
Ed, if I ever get back to the point where I can have noodles again, I am going to make Fettuccine Eduardo! You make it sound soooo enticingly delicious!!!
I think congrats on your new position! Just hope it doesn't add undue stress to your life. Extra coin is always good though!
Roger, as I type this I'm pretty sure you're out walking. I hope its a comfortable temperature, and that you are amused along the way by some kind of 'wildlife'. And for heavens sakes, more coin than yesterday! ...as if you had any control over that!!!
Ok, time to square my shoulders, and forge forward. Yesterday happened, now its Today and a clean slate, Tomorrow hasn't gotten here yet, so I need to make the most of RIGHT NOW!

Howdy y'all. It's thrilling Thursday! Closing tonight, but it's supposed to be a nice night for it so I won't mind at all. I prepped the chicken for the sugar gliders as J is grossed out by cooking and/or cutting up chicken for them. If I'm not going to be home at their usual feeding time I prepare it the day before or as many days before as necessary. Chicken is one of the few foods they consistently like so they get that every night. I buy them organic, no added stuff, no weird feed, etc. chicken. Sometimes I can get lucky and find it as buy one/get one (which is really just half price) at work. I usually buy a package or two for them and immediately split it up into manageable chunks in the freezer, cooking one at a time as needed. When I get down to only one or two chunks left, it goes back on the shopping list.
I've been up for a while but distracted by breakfast, Lilo, etc. I'm sure she'd like a nap before I go to work tonight.

Hi All
On todays walk I started out later than usual so I could go to the dollar store. I picked up 10 Halloween decorations and put them up as I get ready for the holiday. They also had Christmas decorations for sale already.
Have a Good Thursday

I'll be the lead fuel clerk. I'll be working the early shift and taking an afternoon nap when I come home I guess. Lilo will appreciate the afternoon naps!

Hi Valerie
I was not out the door yet as You were posting. I did a late start to be sure the dollar store would be open.
I bought some Foam Headstones, Thick hanging Cardboard Scary items menus, They were out of the Scarecrows on a stick that I was going to line the Sidewalk with so I got a couple of ones on a stand that sit on the Window sills inside the porch and show through the Windows on either side of the door and a couple of Plastic Borders to sit along the Sidewalk by he street end and a couple of Halloween Cards @ 2 for $1. The Borders along the sidewalk, One has Ghouls and the other Skulls.
I found one whole Nickle walking, More than the last couple of days I started out with temps in the high 40s in a Light Long sleeve shirt over the T-Shirt a Sweatshirt and Lightly insulated Leather gloves that to coin a phrase "Fit like a Glove" that I bought many years ago. By the time I got home the gloves were in a pocket, and I was considering peeling off the Sweatshirt to go in the backpack with the dollar store purchases. There was a Nice Ripe apple lying on the sidewalk so I pocketed it too.
Have a Nice Day
Roger

Good Friday Morning!
Cats and I are hungry, so this will be short!
Roger forgot to mention that your Halloween Decorations sound great! I used to do that, but there just arent any littles left on our street. Also I was about the only one who did decorate. Soooo, not planing to put out the 'buried skeleton' who's arms and legs stick out of a pile of either rocks or leaves...no big eyes in the bushes that light up and blink at you, to pumpkins to line the sidewalk, or little glow in the dark skeletons that hung in the garage door windows, etc. etc. I also have a 4 ft skeleton. Off season it lives in my front room. (the very room that Nate calls the 'scary room'...) LOL!!!
Ed's being distracted this morning also I will assume.
I need to go before the cats go into 'attack' mode!

Howdy y'all. It's fabulous Friday! I've been distracted by feeding Lilo and getting my own breakfast going (not eaten yet, but it's in the toaster oven) and of course FaceBook is always calling, calling, calling.
Who am I kidding? I can start with the Weather Channel page and get distracted!
Closing tonight and then a four hour late middle tomorrow. And then a Halloween party of sorts Saturday afternoon/evening. I need to remember to make the baked beans in a crock pot Saturday morning before I go to work at 12:30 so they'll be ready to bring when I get off work at 4:30.

Hi Valerie
I would love to have all those decorations
I think I might put them out anyway for walkers and people driving by unless You live on a dead end street of course.
I like looking at what has been put out on my walks.
Cheers
