Sounds like a lovely day. I might get out to a store today.
Lilo just left my lap so I'm free, free!
Not that I have any big plans now that I'm free.
Need to clean yesterday's cat bowls and feed the cats. I've eaten and the dishwasher is running now. Possibly laundry late
The overnight low was a lot higher than the weather forecast showed yesterday

I just didn't remember to take a picture before I ate it!!! Hope you laughed...I did. Ed will notice something that I've known for quite awhile...and Roger will have no idea, nor should he!!
Mexico lost this morning, Brazil won...tomorrow will find me hurrying to do a few chores and be at the gym by 10a.m.
Sprinkled at my house a bit today...not like the rain we had yesterday. Jack and Nate came by yesterday, Jack worked on replacing some wall board, and Jack replaced the engine air filter on my car, and Nate (12 y.o) replaced the cabin filter. We had fun...got the hole fixed in the kitchen from a plumber visit.
Did some laundry, unloaded dishwasher, and I had a very nice nap! That's about it for the day.
Later...
Could it be related to the laptop by the plate ?
No Rain for several days, So I was outdoors in the heat of the day watering the plants in the front flower beds.
I still have a hole in the sheetrock that needs repair, Sadly
Have a Nice Day

Howdy y'all. It's terrific Tuesday! 73 with an expected high of 92 and 20% chance of rain.
I need a small grocery run today if I'm going to make J's potato salad tomorrow. I have a small pork loin I will slow cook and turn into tender pulled/shredded pork and may even attempt a home made blueberry pie! We'll see on the pie...
Other than the grocery run not a lot on the "required" agenda for today other than feeding the cats, cleaning up yesterday's cat bowls, drinking 3 more mugs of hot tea and a nap.
Lunch will be tikka masala. J will have the remaining chicken fried tofu tikka masala from last night and I will try a frozen chicken tikka masala from the same company.

Quick Good Morning cuz I gotta get moving.
Need to be at the gym by 10 a.m. to watch the soccer game. This works out really well...45 minute walk, gets me to the end of first half...then 15 minutes to get home..and watch the second half..followed by lunch time!
I WANT A WATERMELON....any ideas? I bought one last week at Kroger and had to take it back as you may recall, so yesterday I made a special trip out to Publix....what a waste. They are featuring watermelon chunks in the deli..rather expensive since all they're doing is cutting the really nice red watermelon into chunks...and the quartered melon, which is what I'd normally buy was UGLY. Pink, and one piece also had a wide swath of yellow nearest the white rind section...pink, yellow, white and a green rind does not make Valerie happy. Came home empty handed and still wanting watermelon!
Ok, rant over...
Ed, your dishes caught my eye some time ago and I've been grinning ever since. I have no idea how to get the pix side by side...so I'll let Roger know....Ed and I have the same dinnerware! I thought it was the pattern that my SIL had, but she assured me it was not her pattern...then I more closely looked at one of Ed's photo's and there was this 'a-ha' (or is it aha?) moment!!!
And I think Roger may be right...my dinner was half eaten before I remembered I wanted to photograph it....and yes, I was watching TV and messing with the computer while eating. I can't drive distracted, but I can sure eat that way!!

For lunch today, J finished off the tofu tikka masala, and I heated up the frozen Chicken Tikka Masala.
I give it a good, solid 9, as frozen meals go. It warmed up nicely in the microwave, and tasted really good. I think some people might give it a 10 for a frozen meal.
The spicing was right on, and the sauce wasn't too thin or too thick, and the rice fluffed up nicely enough when it came out of the microwave.
Serving it up properly, on a nice plate, instead of eating it out of the microwave container may have added a point, since appearance DOES matter.
Could have had just a tad more chicken and the chunks could have been a bit larger, but I am not really complaining.
It made a nice lunch.

Yum, Ed that looks very good. I may go to Aldi and look for the tikka kit. I will assume you use your own fried tofu? See, my evil little mind is already working overtime....Me to Me..'If I went to Whole Foods I could get fried tofu...and the tikka kit from Aldi's......'. This is why I need to now lose 30 pounds. 10 of those pounds are new this year.
ARGGGGG!
I got a decent watermelon from the Mex. Market next door to the gym. They are so nice to me. I think cuz I've been in and out getting produce mostly and beans occasionally and dried herbs and spices. I asked if the melons were good and quickly recanted what I'd seen so far...and the guy said I've not had anybody complain..then he started moving melons around, got one from the bottom of the big container. Explained that the ones on top were from yesterday, and the ones on the bottom like he got for me had come in today. Not the kind of customer service you usually find in supermarkets!!
Trying to guess what I want for dinner tonite. I'm having vegan hot dogs tomorrow and probably a corn and bean side salad with of course watermelon! I may just scramble some tofu in the morning and make myself a bean and scramble burrito for breakfast. (with a banana )
Gym is open til 3p.m. tomorrow. Will try to get my buns there. My days just seem to go better if I get there and walk for half hour or more.
Ok, time to dig around in the kitchen and find some dinner. (most likely a baked potato and steamed broccoli)
Easy Peasy!

I wimped out and made a Grocery Store Run Tuesday. I picked up a Chef Salad that will be the last meal of the dat today. I also have two Fried Chicken Breasts, same source in the refrigerator for my Holiday meal. Yesterday I tried two of the Macaroni & Cheese Breaded deep fried wedges, what they called Cheese-steak sliders. The so called sliders looked like a Corn Dog minus the stick. They were both OK.
I am guessing that the Blueberries would be home grown ?parityanimal wrote: »GardenKatGardens wrote: »Dinner tonite was baked falafel in a pita pocket with lettuce, onion, ranch-ish dressing...and an ear of corn.

The last time I was in Whole Foods I saw reasonably priced Watermelon quarters FWIW.
Getting the pictures side by side is not hard, just put both on the same line in the message, the problem is that they should be fairly small doing that. One per line worked for me. I wonder how I missed that ?

I'm awake! Really! I've been up for ages but distracted by internet, and making food. Pork loin is in one slow cooker, beans baking in another, and the blueberry pie I made is almost done. I'll be taking it out shortly to cool.
I've made the barbecue sauce. I still need to dry fry some tofu for making barbecued tofu for J and I still have potato salad and deviled eggs to make, but they don't take long at all.
I'm also doing laundry.

I use a "recipe" from J's paternal grandmother for the potato salad. I'm glad that it includes chopped egg as I love chopped eggs in my potato salad, and my own favorite recipe, which is similar to his grandmother's, used them too.
His grandmother's recipe calls for potatoes, onion (raw), minced/finely chopped gherkins OR sweet pickle relish, chopped, hard boiled eggs (extra when I make it so J gets plenty of protein), and mayonnaise or Miracle Whip type salad dressing. A little salt and pepper to taste and that's it. Mine calls for a generous splash of mustard as well, and onions are optional in mine, but J prefers it without the mustard and definitely with the onions.
The plate of food was delicious, as was the small slice of blueberry pie later. I am glad I had only a small plate of food with not a lot of anything. I got to taste everything without pigging out.
