Neighbors revolt against tiny houses and say they will destroy property values
By Steve Harrison, October 09, 2017 7:58 AM

When I think of TINY houses, I think of those really small ones that are about half the size of an old fashioned mobile home. Now THOSE are tiny.

His houses, while fairly small, look quite spacious and comfortable for people who don't need a whole lot of room. I would still want a reasonably sized yard around me though, even in one of his tiny houses.

I think a lot of the vandalizing is just done for kicks. When I was a kid, we never vandalized in any permanent fashion. Toilet paper in trees might have looked ugly but it would dissolve pretty quickly after a couple of good rain showers.

I guess more old people than before...but my family tends to gather closer as we grow older. My parents moved back to our home town when Dad started spiraling down. It was at least in the same town as a couple of my siblings and when she no longer needed the assisted living apartment, after he died, she bought a house and now lives about a quarter of a mile walk from one of my sisters. My other siblings are more scattered, but I suspect there will be some more clumping as we get older, especially when there is no surviving spouse. Of course some of the sibling clumping will be closer to their own children, those who have them.

Ya think I'm running late???? LOL!
Gym, perused a new 'International Market' in same shopping center as the gym...very interesting. Was hoping to find 'black salt', but no...so I've run out of places to visit, and will let Amazon ship me some.
Home, lunch, nap, Jack chat, feed cat and me too...next thing I know its 10pm! Hmmmm.
Oh, there was a load of laundry too... still not a lot accomplished today

Watched several 'Emmy' vid's. (including the black bat nuts. Weird.

Going to bed, eyes are already at half mast, and I'll need to tape them open if Intend to stay awake.

Oh, been meaning to say....there is a 'show' that goes around, here in ATL it was half an anatomy museum like display with mostly real body pieces, and some that were plastic...but next door to the body works there was a 'blind' tour...You had a time reserved for you and the other 18-20 who were going to be blind with you...instructions were given on how to use the white cane, etc. And then you were led into a pitch black area with NO LIGHT....its been several years since I did this..but I remember climbing a set of stairs, going onto a rocking pier and getting into a boat, complete with water sounds and rocking of the boat...you went to a grocery store and were told to find milk and maybe bread???, you went to a bar, and could order a beverage, which was the easy part...then you had to get out the wallet you'd been given and figure out money to pay with....you know One dollar bill feels like any other...so later we were told how an actual blind person might bend the corner of a One Dollar, five dollar bill, etc...and the worst was crossing a busy street. How to listen for the bell to know the light had changed so you could walk across the street....I and everyone in our group were run over!!! Not so good. I couldn't hear the bell, so I got squashed by a big truck!! It is one of those things that is very enlightening and fun, as well as educational. Def. worth the price of admission!

Ok, now I may need a white cane to get to my bedroom....eyes drooping, closing, head bobbing, ZZZZZZZZZ!

I just put a load of laundry into the dryer and now to take Lilo and go to bed.

Dinner was simple spaghetti with marinara, and small piece of parmesan garlic toast. J had the same, of course.

    Hi Ed
I remember the Hot Dogger, As I understand it the Hot Dog was heated by the 120V line current flowing through the Hot Dog, No heating element as such, Probable risk of shock ?

I watched a couple of episodes of Tiny Houses and those would not do me. OTOH if I was alone one of the ones from the article would work for me.

I am of the belief that the vandalizing is being done by people that have no connection to anything Columbus did except very indirectly. Some Vandalization is being done I'm sure for a laugh. Not that funny to me when a neighborhood comes out and all the tires along the street have been slashed.

I wish That Family was near to me... Washington State etc.

    Have a Good Day

    Hi Valerie
Black Salt, What is it used for ?

A Blind tour sounds sort of interesting. I had a thought however, How do they know What denomination bill they are bending the corner on ?

I am heading back to bed shortly, I did not get a decent sleep and am feeling exhausted and it is not 8AM :(

    Enjoy Your Day

Howdy y'all. It's terrific Tuesday! 70 out there now with an expected high of 87 and 20% chance of rain.

Need to get some laundry folded, and might get out to the store for eggs and a couple of other things. J likes jumbo eggs and they were out of that at Ingles when I was there. We do have a few left though so it's not critical.

Ready to start my third mug of tea.

I think it's a shame that just having a pressure cooker in your trunk is suspicious now. If there's nothing else to indicate that it's being used to make anything untoward or illegal the assumption should not be that it is intended for an IED, but rather that the plan is to..oh, I dunno, maybe COOK SOMETHING in it? That, after all, is what it's made to do.

I mean, a steak knife can be used to hurt someone but I don't get suspicious of someone headed to a barbecue with a set of steak knives.

A hammer can be used to hurt someone and I suppose a screwdriver could too. Yet I have both in my automotive tool kit. No intention of using any of the tools to hurt anyone, I can assure you.

Hi! Gym, Groceries, washed my greens and the celery, fixed a pita sandwich for lunch...hungry now, tired, but will shortly be re-heating some my veggie soup, and ????? something.

I received an email from my fav. food Doc....thanking me for asking about him and his family's safety with the fire in Santa Rosa. He owned 3 houses, one for himself and Mary, and one each for his 2 daughters...they are OK, houses, cars, etc all burned. He escaped in his pajama's Mary had on shirt and pants, and managed to grab a computer and her phone. They are my age. Wouldn't that be awful...to be old and lose everything you owned??? Makes me understand how lucky I am, and is yet another reason to be grateful.

Oh, yesterday I went to the International Market and while they didn't have my black salt, they did sell me some really tasty falafel!!! A mile from my house!! Whoop whoop!!! its a miracle!

Roger asked about the black salt...its actually pinkish in color, and has sulfur in its makeup, giving it an Egg flavor. Great for making tofu eggless salad! Should be here Friday. Taking bets on what lunch will be! :)

We set a high temp record today...and they think may do the same tomorrow. Summer came back for a long stay...

Need to feed Tom E. and then its bed time for me. I'm tired, and my ankle hurts, and I'm on the threshold of becoming crabby!

    Later...
